Here are the results of our War on Syria Poll. Politics Plus Polls are not scientific, because those who respond are not balanced according to demographic categories. Therefore, we do not accurately reflect the makeup of the US population. Nevertheless, our polls are often accurate.

Everyone knows we cannot afford another war.

Affording a war is never the question, and I have and still believe it was used as a device.

Speak softly and carry a big stick. This time the threat of the Big Stick was enough.

To paraphrase a wise man I know, Obama often plays chess when the rest are playing checkers. He's not a warmonger but he's also not a pushover. Anybody who could shake hands with W and not go "Ewwww" afterward is stronger than we think....

I believe I voted "just talk" but was afraid that the Republicanus/Teabagger dominated Congress would kick it up a notch to "bombs and cruise missiles". To me, it was less about the Syrian people (much less!) and much more about obstructing Obama. You really have to hand it to the Republicanus/Teabaggers when Obstruction becomes more important than profits!

As Arielle says, " Obama often plays chess when the rest are playing checkers. "

I wouldn't vote with the hate group teabaggers ever. I'm for the threats our President is considering. After all at least it started some type of diplomacy. But who can trust Russia or Syria? About the same as trusting the tea potty.

AS I stated 2years ago the "Tea Party"is just another arm of the third reich in Hitlers Germany.A gang of rabble rousing facists. Let us hope that Mr Obama stands up strongly against them as did Sir Winston Churchill when confronted by Adolph Hitlers black shirts. (ps. I should know I am a Brit who grew up during W.W.2.)

I figured CONgre$$ would vote with guns blazing, but it Appears no Action will be taken..of course stuff happens Accidentally all the time. Now hand those nasty chemical thingys over to the "reasonable" Russians (uhmm, hope they don't get lost at a Gay Pride Parade..;)

The poll says that 50% of the people think the poll is wrong.

I am most curious to see what Congress will do. It seems some will vote, not especially FOR war, but for the oil companies, the contractors who make money off of the wars, and against Obama. Others will vote as their constituents want, which is against war, and still others will actually think about the whole mess; only they know which way they'll go. Seems to me they should be able to take out specific targets without harming civilians or innocents, but that's only because they can pinpoint targets with drones. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks for the post, TomCat.

I Will always support The Pres. But a Peaceful solution is always better than a military one.

Thanks to all but one. An evenly split poll does not think the poll is wrong.

OOPS! Does not mean 50% think the poll is wrong. The poll says opinion is split.

They (Bagger Fascists, et al) want another war because they have to keep the arms dealers, arms manufacturers and military contractors in profit.....a family friend who worked for both Halliburton and KBR (high-level Security Operative) while in Iraq told us that the next 'move' was Syria....this was already in the to speak....back in 2006!!!!!! They (Corporate Overlords, et al) long-term plan only for things like wars and of course their profit margins. Sickening, isn't it.
