There seems to be some sort of a disconnect of compassion, common sense and rational thinking among the Taliban/Brownshirt/Teabaggers. It must be a genetic defect. I think it's called Fascism.

Utterly briliant satire – and let's hope it stays that way and they don't really try it … or maybe they already have and it isn't the Kool-Aid they have been drinking after all! Bernie Sanders is of course magnificent and right – and millions of people are suffering and will continue to suffer because of the insane Repuglicons actions! Bernie thinks there are some honest Repugs who realise that they lost the election and that their actions aren't right – I hope that he is right and that their numbers grow….

I know you're tired out with all the work you're doing, TomCat. but it must be getting easier to find articles and clips of people who think this shut down is just as ridiculous and dangerous as we do. The only trouble is that this information will never reach the GOP/TP because there's no one to receive it. As a psycho-physiologist (an expensive word for someone who knows a little of the workings of the brain) I can assure you that you are right that something that never has been started up can't be shut down, but you are wrong in thinking that there is any brain structure there that can be started up and used. Scans of Teabaggers have demonstrated a large void where neocortex should be. They just have a brain stem and cerebellum floating in water. You guessed it, these lizards have a reptilian brain only.

Best description of our irritation with the GOP this week for me:

"I was going to go as a Republican for Halloween but I couldn't get my head that far up my ass"

“No evidence is powerful enough to force acceptance of a conclusion that is emotionally distasteful.”

"The man who complains about the way the ball bounces is likely to be the one who dropped it."
— Lou Holt

"Freedom makes a huge requirement of every human being. With freedom comes responsibility. For the person who is unwilling to grow up, the person who does not want to carry is own weight, this is a frightening prospect.”
— Eleanor Roosevelt

Puzzle — 3:46 I am not a race driver in any vehicle.

Bernie Sanders — We've been saying it for a long time — Republicanus/Teabaggers are holding the country hostage. For them, ideology (idioyology) trumps the national interest. Personally, I think that should be grounds for sedition because as Bernie says, millions don't have a pay cheque right now but have financial responsibilities and the stress may very well push some over the cliff. When the subject of Congress forgoing their pay, one Republicanus/Teabagger representative (I can't remember her name or state) said she could not forgo her pay because she had bills to pay. Such arrogance! So do the furloughed workers!

The New Yorker — I would suggest that the "…medulla and cerebellum, sometimes referred to as the “reptilian brain,…" represent the Republicanus/Teabaggers while the Democrats are "…the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that controls reasoning and impulses." Mind, that would assume that there is some kind of synergy between the sections of the brain, which has not existed since 2009.

TPM — Funny but to the point! To Republicanus/Teabaggers "Strike three! You’re OUT!!!"

Cartoon — Spot on! Never were truer words uttered.
