Kudos to Nancy for having the guts to stand in a room full of stuck-up rich and ask the president of McDonald's if it fair that she's struggling to feed her family on her meagre wages. It must have been very uncomfortable for both sides and you can be sure that the rich guests were happy to see her hauled away by the cops. They may even have discussed it among themselves; not too long, though, the soup was getting cold. Fast food employees should take every opportunity to take the same stand and make all the shareholders and executives as uncomfortable and for as long as possible.

I'm sorry TomCat, but I don't like this pope any better than the others. Granted, he has a much higher EQ and very good social and communicative abilities, so he knows how to tell the story better. But saying that ideological Christianity is a problem within the church at the same time he's done the last preparations to canonize not one but two of his predecessors, is a cutting from the same ideological cloth. He can get his message across much better than the previous pope who lost any connection with the real world with his scholarly ways, but pope Francis is an image builder, a PR man, but not a reformer.

Eric Stern was rather mild on the three couples who came to complain about the ACA on Fox News without in fact having even looked at a new policy. He thought they genuinely believed that they would be worse under Obamacare without having bothered to do some inquiries. From what I hear and saw, these people might just as well have been paid for their lip services and didn't seem to be just a case of lousy research. For example, Cox and his wife implied that they couldn't take on more people and kept theirs staff on part-time because of Obamacare. As it turned out, he employed only 5 people and didn't want any more, nor more than 30 hours per week from them because of the costs in general. Obamacare had nothing to do with it and Cox was fully aware of that. Paid, or just 10 minutes in the limelight, who knows, but a lie either way.

The CEO should have been arrested for harms to society and robbing the taxpayer, not Nancy.

Tom, thanks for the work you do with prisoners to turn their lives around, I think you're awesome!

Can't remember the stats but what people working for places like McDonald's and Walmart cost us taxpayers as they need social programs just to survive was huge. Of course, as these corps are pimps for many whoring politicians, it won't any time soon.

On Hannity and his lies, I saw it on MSNBC and those 3 couples wouldn't take anything from Obama if they gave it to them. Faux noise continues to fool all of the people who believe in them all the time. As I've said before, I will turn on faux just to see what "fox news alert" filled with lies they are spewing to the sheeple.
Would love to know how much those people were paid to spread their lies with the urging of the rat, Hannity.

Regarding the Pope, while I think he's doing good at lip service, I'll wait and see how the follow through goes. I'm still waiting for the real truth as to why the last Pope quit abruptly and now won't talk to anyone. The Catholic church has proven themselves to hide behind their religion and I think this new Pope was brought in to increase the number of parishioners the church can count on.

I am wanting to like this new pope BUT, like Carlene, talk is cheap but the bottom line is the outcome. Nice thoughts but wait to see the outcome.

Hannity......need I say more? Not gonna today, my BP went haywire yesterday, so today, they are not worth the effort.

Ask a question, get arrested.....Fascism at its finest. Are we liking it yet? NOT

Well done to your chaps TC. Sadly I couldn't watch the Hannity video it wouldn't let me no matter how I tried. I couldn't believe (then of course I could) the Upworthy article about Nancy Salgado, she was very brave to be arrested and she was not the one who should have been arrested! Those uber rich corporations steal 7 billion dollars yearly from the American taxpayers because they refuse to pay their workers a living wage it is WRONG!

I don't believe in organized religion but have nothing against anyone who does if they follow it for the right reason, which is love and compassion. I think this Pope is sincere and wants to change things but we all know that one man can only do so much. Can you imagine if this new Pope came in and turned everything upside down during his first month? Bringing someone who is "severely indoctrinated" around is like trying to teach a wild animal to trust you. Better to use a carrot than a stick. Heavy handedness does not work. Just look at what Obama has had to put up with and all he wanted was some sort of Health Care for those that couldn't get it. Showing the way to a better future is never easy, nor quick.

UpWorthy: BRAVO to Nancy and the others for speaking out at the fancy fare, this has gone on long enough. Management is rich, as the employees slave away, and can't feed/provide for their families...what a tragedy.!!! Poor answer, Mr. McDonald's president, now pay up. Daily Kos: I agree, Way to Go, Pope Francis. Read a comment from the article that says: "I hope he has a taster. And very devoted security." Amen to that, he'll need it, if he continues on this path. Good Cartoon. I know that your volunteering really motivates your 'guys', and that's so awesome.!! Take care, get some rest, and have a good day, Tom. Thanks.

Puzzle 3:20 Yah, isn't it! Your little guy is pushing my little guy over the cliff!

Upworthy Nancy Salgado was polite, direct, and stuck to her question without injecting personalities. Not only was CEO Stratton condescending in his reply to Nancy (`ve been there 40 years.), but I feel he was evasive, but more, he was rude by not answering her simply question.

Daily Kos "Shake it up! Pope Francis, Shake It Up !!" Amen!!!!!

MSNBC "healthcare overhaul train wreck"? I keep hearing that phrase from conservatives and although there are some start up glitches of the technical variety, Obamacare is not a 'train wreck'. Ask the person who could not get insurance previously because the cost was too high, or they had a pre-existing condition, if they think it is a train wreck. As the programme rolls out, the technical difficulties will be sorted out. As time moves forward, Obamacare will change and evolve, maybe even to universal healthcare.

Hannity, one of Faux Noise's resident liars and propagandists, cooked the books so to speak on interviews with 3 couples. The story was fact checked only to find that Hannity lied and misrepresented the facts. Too many people accept the word of Faux Noise as gospel when in fact it is the Reich Ministry of the Republicanus/Teabaggers. Do your own fact checking on Obamacare by going to an exchange for information and getting information on-line. Think about what you are reading and hearing and ask questions.

Cartoon How many are being forced to work more than 40 hours per week without overtime pay, because if they don`t work they are threatened with being fired? This is likely more of a problem now because the job matket is so tight. This should never be an issue.
