Good for Congressman Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) – an excellent speech! I agree with you about Mr Reid – I couldn't hear what he said about the possibility of the GOP doing it again though…. Thanks TC - I could view those videos clearly!

Not giving in to the Republicans when they held the country hostage during the shutdown, has given the Democrats renewed belief and confidence in themselves. They’re no longer sitting there in the benches looking the other way when the GOP is trying to repeal the ACA for the 48th time, they – well, at least Bill Pascrell – have had enough with being nice and call a spade a spade. When the GOP is trying to pass a new bill against Obamacare again while calling it cooperation, Pascrell is genuinely outraged,: “are you being serious…”
I really keep my fingers crossed we’ll get to see more responses like this in the coming weeks.

It seems people are regaining their sanity elsewhere too as Alabama’s Republicans have to crawl back under their rock and take their outright racist statute with them, back into the dark where it came from. It really makes you wonder about the naivety that underlies all these Republican state laws. Do they really think they can wipe their lily white bottoms with the constitution and get away with it? It’s so good to see that both by civil-rights groups, churches and the Justice Department brought lawsuits against this statute. United the back of the GOP-beast can be broken.

Actually, TomCat, you and Harry Reed agree on your first point, I think. Reid implied he sort of hopes that the Republicans nominate Cruz as their presidential candidate because that would mean the end of the Republican party. If that is true, then the Republicans would stand for everything America is against, even in the eyes of their own voters.
Reid is not capable of shedding his wimpy image. He’s far too soft spoken, too nice, too afraid to confront the opposition on their own terms, too afraid to step on toes. At this point in time the Democrats should be represented by someone with more spunk who really believes in himself or herself and has genuine convictions. Reid’s vocation on earth is to appease everyone and now is not the time of appeasement, now is the time to show leadership and strength.

You're right Tom, Reid let Coburn off way too easy. And Cruz would sink the party even faster if he were nominated.

Two pretty classy acts on video to contrast with some of those that make me think the screen needs to be near a toilet--thanks TC

4:51 Squeaked in (like a mouse).

Good for Bill Pascrell. Do you think anyone listened? Besides us, I mean.

Good for Alabamans.

Harry probably let Coburn off easily to keep the focus on Cruz. I don't think Coburn is even thinking about running for President, is he?

Daily KOs: Bill Pascrell is right up there with Bernie Sanders for me now.

NY Times: Nice to hear something good from Alabama!

RAchel Maddow: Reid is much more forgiving than I, Coburn would get no easy pass from me. Cruz is against everything I stand for, and I hope the majority of Americans

Note — I know that this weekend is the "fall back" time as far as clocks go, but I thought it was only 1 hour, not 1 year! — “Open Thread–11/1/2012” ???

Puzzle — 3:09 I'm right behind you TC. Thanks for clearing the leaves for me. Such a chivalrous move!

Daily Kos — Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) has chutzpah while Griffin (R-AK) is a putz of the grandest order. It is very apparent who truly understands the meaning of 'bipartisan', and it is NOT the Republicanus/Teabaggers!

NY Times — We already know that the "Washington weenies", aka Republicanus/Teabagger Congress critters, don't have an elevator that goes all the way to the top, so seeing the light is damn near impossible for them. They are so caught up in blacktracking that they are headed down a one way street the wrong way.

"If only Congress would see the light. House Republicans are still barreling down a dead-end road, with bills like the SAFE Act, which empowers state and local police to enforce immigration laws."

YouTube — At the end of the clip when Rachel asked about Tom Coburn's comment, I think Harry was showing that side of himself that made gentlemen's agreements with McTurtle only to be blasted out of his socks when McTurtle reneged. He'd better not lose those Obamaballs! As to whether the Washington weenies will try to repeat the last fiasco in early 2014, I hope not, but I do not share Harry's confidence. There is no doubt that this last fiasco hurt the Republicanus/Teabaggers significantly, but I have no confidence in their ability to learn from their mistakes.

Cartoon — Eniwetok Atoll — the perfect place for all the secessionists and Republicanus/Teabaggers! Their own island in the Pacific where they can 'govern' how they see fit!

Finally one from the back row found a pair! You go, Pascrell!
I nominate Alan Grayson for Senate Majority Leader..yeah, I know he's not a Senator....but man, wouldn't he give 'em what for! Real cajones and a real backbone.
Oh, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease let Crackhead Cruz be the Rethuglinazi Theo-Fascist nominee.

@ Gary A L --- "about time people started holding these lying dirt bag rethuglicans accountable for their lies"

Oh yeah!!!!! A few state and local elections this year, and a whole mess of them in 2014! The unemployment line is looming! May the Washington Weenies aka the Republicanus/Teabaggers see their 2010 fortunes totally reversed!
