Yes, indeed most of 2014 will have republicans taking even more of a "tough stand" to make up for this little compromise. I wish I could believe that Boenher really has grown a back bone, but I think it was just posturing for the cameras. The one bright light is in November of 2014 when, maybe and with a little help from our friends, Congress just might have a changing of the guard.

It sounds as if you did find the right place to live TC and I wish you the best of everything in the coming new year. Happy Holidays and hoping for your health to improve.

Should be an easy victory for your Broncos, your team is at 10, to my Texans measly 3, 2nd quarter. Hope that you finally get situated, and can take a breather. Best to you and your new digs. Have a great day, take care, and thanks, Tom.

Glad you share a building with people who want things to work for all. Wonder where your selection got their education on how to plan and execute policy successfully--seems the basics went missing somehow.

You may not have had too much time to do research, but your short takes were great, TomCat

There"is no way I can find a good timeframe to comment as I'm almost a day ahead of you. I'm putting this comment in at 3:30 PM on Monday the 23rd. So unless I get up in the middle of the night to catch your postings, I'll be so far behind/ahead that everyone is already busying themselves with your new thread, so I won't bother to go all out.

Put your Larry SECEDE Kilgore on ice until after the holidays, TomCat. This full-blown idiot deserves a special place in your Republican Galery. I'd love to hear a soundbite of him begging the LGBT community to vote for him so he can try to kill them legally as a governor. You need to hear that to believe it.

Thanks for the cartoon, funny but a little to close to the truth.

4:46 must be my childhood fear of Santa resurfacing.

For anyone old enough to remember broken records, here I come again, no doubt not for the last time:
2014: GET. OUT. THE. VOTE.

thanks, Tom....I anticipate a great 2014 reading your posts I hope...however, I am sad that you insulted The Grinch...he at least had a heart and could learn to love, but I am not sure about anyone in the GOP....

I was listening to public radio this morning and some republican actually believes that the GOP will gain ground in 2014. He claimed that the Republicans are merely waiting and watching because the Democrats are doing badly. Yet later I heard that 73 percent of Americans believe Congress has done a very poor job. I think the GOP is still delusional. PLEASE, PLEASE, let's GET OUT THE VOTE this coming year. We just cannot afford to let the nutters win.
