Here is the fortieth article in our Republicans on Parade series, featuring individuals who personify what the Republican Party has become. Today’s honoree is nut-job conspiracy theorist Todd Starnes for frightening demented sheeple with Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian lies.

"Barf Bag Alert" is not sufficient for these right wing evangelical pseudo Christian morons. They are truly erstz, being a usually artificial and inferior substitute or imitation of being Christians. There is nothing of authentic Christianity in their rants and ravings.
I am of the opinion that Fischer, Starnes and their ilk should be glad that they, constitutionally, have the right to freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Now they need to be reminded that so do the rest of the American people.

If there is anything that needs banning and taking from the shelves, it isn't the bible but Todd Starnes' books. There's a limit to what any sane person can take in terms of lies, deceit and twisting or making up of facts, before he loses his or her mind. I'm sure Starnes far exceeds this limit in any of his books as does Bryan Fisher on his radio show. And they know it, because that is the reason why their paranoia has made them fear the FCC.

Sorry to be off topic, but I am fuming about the state of Arizona letting businesses play Jim Crow laws , even the thought of this Religious zealots banning gay people from shopping wherever they want is the most radical move by the bible thumping insanity party that I know, it's eating my heart! !!

I'm conflicted as to whether to pity or laugh at these paranoiac conspiracy theorists that spend all their time searching for evidence to support their insane beliefs. They appear to be so consumed with proving to the world that their accusations were correct that they never actually have a life. Very sad. Thanks TC I hope you feel better.

I'm not conflicted, Edwin....I do not pity them. Let them bury themselves in their lies and hate. Someday all the people will wake up and see these sorry walking POS's for what they truly are. Someday......

Yes, one thing I am hearing more and more is the reminder that freedom of speech does NOT mean freedom from criticism. I am hearing this on the left applied to the right, because the left knows it and does not comprise a bunch of whiny bags who yell "Persecution!" at every disagreement. The right, on the other hand, does.
Oh, and Lynn has a point. Maybe "barf bag alert" should be accompanied by "blood pressure alert."

That many more reasons why I no longer identify myself as a Republican! That party has lost its way. Democrats, though, had better not gloat - they're only marginally better.
If you have neither a heart nor a brain, you vote Republican.
If you have a heart but no brain, you vote Democrat.
If you have a brain but no heart, you vote Libertarian.
If you have both a heart and a brain, you're an Independent who realizes that our system is badly broken.

RE: The So Sad and Sorry Clown Parade. . .
“There are some upon this earth of yours,' returned the Spirit, 'who lay claim to know us, and who do their deeds of passion, pride, ill-will, hatred, envy, bigotry, and selfishness in our name; who are as strange to us and all our kith and kin, as if they had never lived. Remember that, and charge their doings on themselves, not us.” ― Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol
“The fact that millions of people share the same vices does not make these vices virtues, the fact that they share so many errors does not make the errors to be truths, and the fact that millions of people share the same form of mental pathology does not make these people sane.” ― Erich Fromm, The Sane Society
“Out of my sight! Thou dost infect mine eyes.” ― William Shakespeare, Richard III

These barf bags can take any verse in the Bible and twist it to mean what they think it shoud mean. Calling them pseudo Christians is really kinder than I would be.

Freya, if you vote Democratic, you're voting Democratic. If you vote Republican, you're voting Republican. If you vote Libertarian, you're voting Republican. If you vote third party, you're voting Republican. If you do not vote, you're voting Republican.

Oh please. War on Religious liberty? Is this their reaction and attempt to deflect THEIR wars? On women, on minorities, on veterans, on seniors, on children, on immigrants? In HIS book, he says, "we" point out. What, he didn't write it? "We" wrote it? Just another damn fool trying to deflect the conversation away from the very real issues this country faces, not the least of which is republican opposition to everything that would get this country moving again like investments in infrastructure, schools, education, roads, bridges, sewer mains, jobs and our electrical grid. I know these morons never tire of their own pablum, but I sure do. Any excuse to talk about nonsense and avoid talking about the very real issues we face is met with this kind of hoohah. The good news is that this tyrannical minority is dwindling fast albeit not fast enough for me.

"You can tell Starnes is a Republican because he twists the Bible to promote hate. You can tell that the real Jesus was not a Republican, because he did the exact opposite." I completely agree – and one may substitute any Right Winger's name for that of 'Starnes' and the statement will still sadly be true.
I love the posts – and have to agree with the 'bp alert' – I usually have to avoid them because of the damage to health they cause as my bp skyrockets – I will read all those warnings into the 'barf bag alerts'!
