Republicans get very strange, when it comes to witches. They seem to think that devil is hard at work through broomstick riding crones. They are so over the top on the subject that the only thing anyone will ever remember about the candidacy of Christine O’Dingbat was her claim not to be one. Rachel Maddow had some fun with the Great Benghazi Witch Hunt, before getting serious.

Have a committee and then walk out. On taxpayer money! I wish I had that job!

Everyone knows its a scam and a witch hunt, nobody except for the GOP wants more taxpayers money spend on this, even half of the family members want this stopped, but continue they will. So the Democrats are left in a pickle and aren't sure what to do. I don't see how they can just join in with five of them with no power at all while they've been calling it a witch-hunt, so I agree with you the middle-road is the best one to take. Have an observer there who can show all how partisan and biased this is and who gets access to all documents, but by being an observer only, makes it very clear Democrats want no part of it. The observer should be aware, however, that the committee will do everything to gag him or her, trying to make sure that nothing untoward from the GOP stays with the GOP.

By the way, Rachel took quite a chance with showing this Monty Python clip: in the end the woman turns out to be a witch after all. LOL

if the gop hadn;t defunded all the embassies in 2011,and 2012
maybe there would be no Benghazi

Judi, how could you say such a thing? I mean, my goodness, that would mean that they were actually working for their money, not sitting around, on their duffs, while on the dole!
Any hint of satanic goings on point to the Minister of Propaganda, Herr Goebbels-Boehner.

Given the examples that she gives, the question answers itself. When Republicans investigate Republicans, it's safe to boycott, because they will turn up nothing. When Repuiblicans investigate Democrats, someone needs to be there to speak truth. I agree with TC therefore, and one or two true Progressive Democrats are needed on the "Committee."

I sympathize and enjoy witches - not so with goblins and ghouls.... you know, ghouls like Cruz, Rubio, Bush, McConnell and all those other blood-sucking monsters.

If the gop/tp wants to conduct a Benghazi Witch Hunt, then they should start and begin right here:

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R) Yes, I "Absolutely" Cut Embassy Funding Thus GOP Let Benghazi Happen

"I know everyone already knows that in 2009, Darrell Issa, Jason Chaffetz, Paul Ryan and the other House Republicans voted to cut funding for Embassy Security from President Obama's Embassy Security Request … ya know … because the House GOP are against everything President Obama says or does because … ??? who the hell knows why – they're haters?"

"Anyway, since Darrell Issa is doing his hearings on Benghazi today, I thought I'd post this Diary as a reminder that, due to the GOP Cuts in Embassy Funding, I conclude that the House GOP let Benghazi happen by cutting the Administration's request for additional funding on Embassy Security."

Barbara Boxer: ‘The Benghazi Scandal’ ‘Starts With Republicans’ Who Cut Funding For Embassy Security

"In a speech on the Senate floor on Tuesday, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) said that Republicans in Congress should look into a mirror when asking why the attack on an American consulate in Benghazi was as deadly as it was. She said that House Republicans who voted to cut security funding for overseas embassies are directly responsible for the lack of security personnel at that outpost. Boxer’s claim is contradicted by testimony delivered before a Congressional Oversight Committee hearing last week." VIDEO:

Love Rachael Maddow (platonically of course.)

Benghazi is an issue that they are using to gin up their base. This attack happened like 2 years ago. If you haven't caught the "Benghazi Fever" by now, you aren't going to.

“[Democrats] would blame our insistence upon getting the truth as a political ‘witch hunt.’ Well, Mr. Speaker, that must mean that there’s a witch somewhere.”

From philosphy-index.com: “A false dichotomy or false dilemma occurs when an argument presents two options and ignores, either purposefully or out of ignorance, other alternatives.

In general, a false dichotomy gives the impression that the two oppositie options are mutually exclusive (that is, only one of them may be the case, never both) and that at least one of them is true, that is, they represent all of the possible options.”

Mr. Sessions, I think YOU’RE the witch!

Pete Sessions....Texas.... the people and land of the clueless/hate and fear mongering/Jesus for dollars Klans.......... sigh..They are great when it comes to wasting tax payer dollars on their clueless / non-fact based causes but good for nothing more.... as we've witnessed for well over a decade now.

I know how you all feel but spending time all over Africa I saw some pretty frightening things especially in Rwanda (more voodoo and black magic lots of little dolls nailed on trees in the rain forest etc )
The only thing I can make you laugh about witches is one of my cats is a Cornish Rex which was originally the Witch's Cat in England and most of them were burnt to the stake with their mistresses my Nina (after Nina Simone) is mad as a hatter

Daily Kos: It was almost ninety here today, not at all normal for May in Kentucky.

NY Times: They did not expect the backlash they got on their new rules. I hope everyone keeps protesting and contacting their congressmen and the FCC.

Alternet" Krauthammer is a true Republican. Climate change might affect their biggest contributors, oil gas coal and chemical companies.

The hearings ad nauseam on Benghazi are a waste of time and tax payer money, but hey, that is what the Republicanus/Teabaggers are good at. One need look no further than the number of times that the fools have tried to repeal Obamacare. Should the Democrats boycott this next round of hearings, or not? The phrase "fight fire with fire" comes to mind in thinking about this decision, and Elijah Cummings is the perfect example. Issa is a coward for not wanting to hear Cummings' question nor answer it. His actions show me that Issa is just grandstanding. He lies like a rug when he says he wants fair and balanced hearings. He only wants the Republicanus/Teabagger position to come out.

In an election year especially, the Democrats cannot afford to boycott the hearings no matter how inane they are . . . and they are supremely inane.

Ah, Benghazi perhaps we all need to start reminding the Repug/Tea Bagged about the good old days. 2002-2008: TEN(10) attacks on US Embassies and Consulates - SIXTY(60) DEAD all under G. W. BUSH.
1/22/2002: Consulate at Kolkata - 5 Dead
6/14/2002: Consulate Karachi - 12 Dead
2/28/2003: Embassy Islamabad - 2 Dead
6/30/2004: Embassy Tashkent - 2 Dead
12/6/2004: Compound Saudi Arabia - 9 Dead
3/2/2006: Consulate Karachi AGAIN - 2 Dead
9/12/2006: Embassy Syria - 4 Dead
3/18/2008; Embassy Yemen - 2 Dead
7/9/2008: Consulate Istanbul - 6 Dead
9/17/2008: Embassy Yemen AGAIN - 16 Dead
60 DEAD under a Republican President and Repug Secretary of State and NOT A SINGLE OUTRAGED REPUG CALLING FOR INVESTIGATION, NOT A SINGLE REPUG DEMAND FOR A SELECT COMMITTEE. The only thing the Repugs have done is consistently CUT funding for State Department Security every time that they have had the opportunity. FIFTEEN TIMES MORE DEAD under Bush and all the Repugs learned is to cut security for the State Department for FOUR consecutive years, I guess it is very expensive to wash all that blood off their hands and guilt from their clod dead souls.
