Dragonfly above puzzle time; 4:24. It's one of the prettiest puzzles.

When some stupid MF is afraid of the races being destroyed what can you say? It's like talking to a wall.

I wonder what's going to happen to the black man who shot the intruders? If the cops had gone in with a warrant they would have found nothing and left. They would still be alive. Now the poor man is going to be in court and possibly jail instead of having every inch of this property torn apart. I love Amerika. It just gives me goose bumps. Or is it goose steps?

Mo Asumang breaking through the mind of a racist showing that their contempt for non-whites and Jews is festered by the mob mentality they are drawn to. No time to break them down one by one as she did but apparently some, not all, do have a heart.

No knock intruders and one is shot by a black man 'standing his ground'. No drugs found? You can stand your ground in that awful state but not if you're black I guess.

On McCarthy, no surprises in anything he says. He's just another whore for corporate pimps.

Congrats on day 64! You have it licked Cat Daddy! :)

What can I say about TX stand your ground, except you are correct....because he's not the right color for these courts here AND he WAS IN THE RIGHT to defend himself and his family AND his property. Personally, I truly feel the paramilitary police force and their CRIMINAL (though legal, ie, see Patriot I & II) behavior got them exactly what they deserved. But, this man will soon find himself inside the TDCJ-ID system and most probably for life....for defending his life and the life of his wife and his property. Another case of dual legal for the rich (or not, but definitely WHITE) and the other one for the rest of the population who are not white. Disgusting. much for McCarthy being 'moderate and sensible'...he's a frikken RethugliFascist Bast*rd, what did we expect? He's a bought whore like all the rest of them, this only proves it.

Well, good on the lady in Germany that can actually stand there and take their hate with dignity and respect given to those who do not deserve either. Good on her is all I can say. DAWG PAWS are waving! :) Hell yes I am voting in November! :)

So good of you to get your cleaning done, even without much help, TomCat. I really admire that, because I really dislike cleaning very much although I try to do it regularly to stay on top of it. I think you could do with another stash of catnaps now, so I'll send some over.

Upworthy: Of course the ideology of the extreme Right exists only in their heads and has little and no connection to reality, because if it did they wouldn't be able to maintain it; then they wouldn't be able to say they're not racist and believe it. That is why they don' want to be confronted by someone from the side of their enemies, especially if that enemy is a soft spoken woman who smiles at them. It's very difficult to keep up your cultivated hate in the face of that. Illusion and reality clash and that is confusing. It is also enraging and the trouble is that when the enemy walks away, this anger is given a place in their head again by group processes and indoctrination and turned into race hate again.
And you are very right in noting that the Tea Party is exporting their ideology to Europe. There is a whole stream of Talibangelist funded s%%t coming our way with the intend to either support existing extreme Right and Neo-Nazi groups or indoctrinating the few young Christian churchgoers with their homophobia, anti-abortion ideology, chastity before marriage up to the full war on women. It's scary, but these young fanatics are carbon copies of your Talibangelists and they're all quoting American preachers and waving American pamphlets. Donations are also made to Geert Wilders, our local demagogue and rebel-rouser.

NY Times: It didn't take McCarthy long before he showed who his masters are and which deity he worships, did it, It turns out that McCarthy is completely interchangeable with Cantor.

Crooks and Liars: Texas: state of double standards, no triple standards, no quadrupole standards... well, actually no standard at all.

Just love the cartoon!

this AM I heard an interesting radio show and the conservative expert was almost gloating in the fact that "the Democratic party doesn't tend to get out and vote in midterms and I see good GOP gains"......GET OUT AND VOTE AND TAKE A FRIEND.

What a great video - what a great person Mo is - so brave, so gracious, so calm in the face of such stupidity.

Adorable cartoon - and hearty congrats on Day 64!

It looks promising that CA will have a proposition forbidding dark money on the November ballot to help bring out the DEM, liberal, progressive vote.
Kudos on day 64!
McCarthy chose an obscure to most people issue to speak on first--that low key approach is what he's known for.
I watched Mo last night. That kind of one to one conversation is credited with keeping MN from passing the proposal to forbid same gender marriages. It is also a tradition in churches for how to address divisive issues. Change often happens one person at a time.
Since when do law enforcement intentionally behave like burglars?

Additional thought--law enforcement breaking in without apparent cause gives credence to the argument that people need guns to protect themselves from the government...yet I wonder whether those voices know they are following in the footsteps of the Black Panthers?

4:53 Computer retrograde today.

Upworthy - Yes, Republicans are exporting Teabuggery and hate (if that's not a tautology.) Probably not to Germany though; they didn't invent it, but have had shreds of it hanging around for a long time. It must be tough for the sane people - and there are many - to have to live with that. Heart of a saint indeed. Wonderful, brave woman.

NY Times - Export-Import Bank. Are we going to stop accepting imports too, so we have to manufacture our own stuff? Oh, heck, I'm sure Republicans will find away around that. I wonder if Kevin McCarthy would recognize "hard-earned" money if it came to the door and showed ID. I'd bet a chunk of my own money he never had to "hard-earn."

Crooks and Liars - Oh, good God. What a tragedy, and probably for everyone involved. I had a friend who was once falsely raided, in a motel, at midnight. It was terrifying but funny: the police had a tip that a doctor in a particular model car would be staying there with drugs. As it happened there were two groups matching that description (my friend was a PhD) and they raided both simultaneously - but only arrested one - needless to say, not my friend. And they didn't need to sneak up; the management cooperated with keys. No one was hurt. I can see the case in the article is not going to end so happily.

Cartoon - I did vote in today's primary, by mail, two weeks ago. Paws up!

Day 64 - As Patty says, good for you. Also as Patty says, all ex-smokers know how hard it is. I actually don't still get cravings, but only because, sometime in year two, the addictive allergy that had me hooked morphed into a repulsive allergy so that even being in a building where no one is smoking now but many people have over a long time so it is in the walls interferes with my breathing and kind of chokes me. Being around active smoke is even worse. So that helped. But for years after that I was lighting up n my dreams - from pure ha

Upworthy: What a kind, gentle and remarkable lady in the face of evil.
Crooks and Liars: This happens a lot here in TX., unfortunately. It's horribly sad and extremely biased.
Cartoon: YAY!!! Hi Five....uh....High Paws for voting.!!
Glad to read that you got all your cleaning done. Now it's time to prop up your feet and relax! Do take good care, have a great day, and Thanks, Tom.

Puzzle 2:43 I was dragon a bit too. I was in awe of the jewel toned iridescent colours! Magnificent!

Upworthy I like the part where she is talking to the fellow in "the sheet". He says he is not a racist, to which she asks why he is dressed in the white "sheet". It's for ceremony he says. I wonder if it ever occurred to him that there was no ceremony at the time so his reply is so transparent? It was certainly brave of Mo to step out and confront these Neo Nazis. But when she did, it wasn't to intimidate, it was to understand and be understood.

NY Times A Republicanus/Teabagger only respects two things . . . power and greed. His true colour is black, just like his heart.

Crooks and Liars The rampant racism in the pseudo Christian South is beyond belief, but nonetheless very much alive. I am absolutely stunned that the descent people of the South have not risen up and dumped these pseudo Christian Republicanus/Teabaggers squarely on their asses in the unemployment lines. November 2014 is coming!

Cartoon We have 16 paws raised here for 2015 and the end of Harper and his harlots.

Glad you got all your cleaning done. Could I borrow that lady for a couple of days? :-)

Upworthy: I grew up in a multi racial community, the coal camps had many different ethnicities, so fortunate for me, and my mother would never tolerate any of us using terms we heard from other children. It totally bewilders me when I hear others who lived in the same town utter racist comments, even while declaring themselves to be Christians. This woman is doing a public service for her area and kudos for her that she is brave enough to do it.

NY Times: Kevin is just following in the footsteps of previous Republicans. Most of our decent paying jobs for the middle class have been sent away, to support the greed of the manufacturers who contribute so heavily to Republican campaign chests.

Crooks and Liars: Stand YOur Ground is meant to protect White folks from all those others. Of course, a black man cannot expect it to work for him. Too many towns have SWAT teams these days who act as though they are in a war zone. I suspect this will not be the first policeman killed by someone who is awakened by a break-in at his home.

Cartoon: Hand raised. I have voted in every election since I was 18 years old.

Thanks all.

Chris, holding you down, kicking and screaming, to keep you from voting is exactly what Republicans have in mind.
