Sorry to hear about your COPD flaring up suddenly, TomCat. It seems to be troubling you less since you moved into this apartment, but sadly it's something that will never be very far away. Pollen may not be your enemy so late in the season, but particulate matter may well be. There's so much of it about especially in the cities and especially during heatwaves. It's one of the reasons large cities have to reduce their traffic during heatwaves, sometimes forbidding cars altogether. So take care.

Daily Kos: I agree, TomCat, James O. Pasco Jr. Is a pig in many respects. His Republican way of 'defending' the Ferguson police by attacking Obama is so typical of those who have wallowed in the mud far too long.

Think Progress: Mike Coffman's mind is so twisted that he got upset by a question about women's rights. That was so terrifying that besides a lot of mumbling and coughing, he couldn't think of anything to say and the words"birth control" just wouldn't pass his lips. That sure makes me wonder what else this man is so uptight about. I don"t think that he can get the word "homosexual" out without being physically ill. Why would this poor man put himself through another four years of hell when he is re-elected? What dedication! ;-) :-)

Think Progress: Sorry, TomCat, I hope you don't mind, but I'm at the and of a bad connection, I'm trying to enjoy a bit of a holiday, and I'm an Atheist. Three good reasons not to watch this video before going to bed. Another pseudo-Christian whining in intervals about how persecuted she is... I won"t do that to myself. But your remark is spot on.

Cartoon: PIGNocchio must be getting jealous by now of all the media attention Perry gets. PIGNocchio being who he is, he sure doesn't want to be left out.

Saw an article where Ferguson police beat a black man and then charged him with destruction of property because he got his blood on their uniforms. Does that sound like due process is working well there?

Tired of the pseudo-Christians whining...there are many good real Christians out there doing good things but far too many pretenders who are anything but my definition of Christian. I'm more of the "nature is my religion, earth is my temple" category....

I find it encouraging that some of these dorks are going down... the governor of Virginia, governor of Texas.... now we need to get Scott Walker and Nathan Deal.

Sorry about your COPD flareup Cat Man. Take care of yourself!

Pasco Jr needs to get somewhere and STFU, he admits he's not there so STFU and as far as the, last time I checked HE is the Commander in Chief AND like dipsh*t said with his own lips, a CONSTITUTIONAL lawyer....hello. Not to mention, the Prez is a half-black man. He would know what it is to be harassed and delegated as a second-class citizen in our oh-so-exceptional AmuriKKKa. To call what is going on in Ferguson as 'restoring order' is DELUSIONAL.

Rep. Mike Coffman -- Anothe twit who needs to get somewhere and NOT in the congress. What a waste of time, space and matter.

Judy McCarthy -- Oh JUDY--JUDY--JUDY.......stop your incessant whining over pampered, disgustingly rich, pasty white POS female. No one is persecuting you for your pseudo-supply-side KKKristian delusion, ya harpy. Go away now....far away to the land of we do not have to endure you.

ROFLMBFAO at your 'Mr. Kristy Kreme Goombah 'toon.

I’m not there, and neither is the president," Pasco said. "

That's the only thing he said that mattered. Though apparently not really as it applies to him - in keeping with season, Monday morning quarterbacking is THE game of choice and what republicans think is actual leadership. Do nothing, then bitch about whatever anyone else did. Right...

Sorry about your COPD, TomCat, I have a colleague who struggles with that mightily and both of my sons had severe asthma so I know a bit about it from a caretaker's standpoint, which I know is small comfort. I hope it improves soon.

Azure Marina puzzle time; 4:40. It's one of the most beautiful!

President Obama has no credibility because he's spoke from Martha's Vineyard but how much crap have we heard from Kennebunkport?

Woe Tom Cat I hope you get better soon!

Daily Kos: He's an As-. Pasco is just a mouthpiece for the GOP. . State Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson, in charge of security for the town is looking tired. This just in: A person is fighting for his life in Ferguson, Missouri, just hours after a curfew was imposed in order to bring calm to a city that's seen a week of protests and sporadic looting. One male shot and 7 people arrested. CNN.
Think Progress: My backyard is my church. And I've never run into any religious opposition at all. Maybe she should try that instead of making stuff up, and not being so 'scared'. LOL.
Cartoon: From Salon: "Texas Governor Rick Perry has been trying to leapfrog New Jersey Governor Chris Christie for some time—but not like this. Instead of jumping past Christie in the 2016 GOP presidential race, Perry jumped past Christie in the criminal indictment sweepstakes, scoring on two counts—abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony, carrying a penalty of 5 to 99 years in jail, and coercion of a public official, a third-degree felony, carrying a penalty of 2 to 10 years in jail. Both carry fines up to $10,000." Will Christie be next?
It was a good night here at the Ponderosa, the Texans beat Atlanta 32-7. Hope they can keep it going. Hope that you can get some much needed rest, you need it. In the meantime, take care, have a great day, and Thanks, Tom.

6:41 Overslept. It shows.

Daily Kos - Due process my - ahem. You know, I have read about it in the Constitution, but I don't believe I've seen it for years. Is it perhaps in hiding because it too is afraid of the police? At least in Ferguson, that might be a smart move.

Think Progress - Unfortunately, a little thing like that is unlikely to antagonize his base, which is a pity. His opponnt, Andrew Romanoff, is a true progressive. He was also a good friend of the late (and much missed) Ken Gordon, who founded Clean Slate Now, a group tackling the other end of Citizens United by encouraging candidates not to accept any contributions from PACs and by supporting and promoting those who take that pledge. Andrew is right at the top of the list. He is one Congressional District over from me, but I'd almost rather see him win than the Democrat in my own district. I encourage everyone to support him.

RWW - The only thing Jesus wanted the rich to take from the poor was their poverty. (Spoiler: They are not doing it, and won't be any time soon.)

Cartoon - Can someone please give the Governor what he is asking for, and soon?

I can remember when Fraternal Orders cleaned their own house of those who gave them a bad name rather than defending them whether right or wrong.
I don't envy Johnson, yet am glad he appears to be a man of integrity deserving of public trust.
I wish your examples who claim Christianity followed the teaching of praying under a bushel and not trying so hard to brag about their poor examples.
Glad people can still laugh at the absurdity some of these candidates spout so they can hear it.
It shouldn't be long before Christie gets his.

The heavy handed tactics by the police in this particular case were NOT justifiable. You don't need automatic weapons and heavy armored vehicles to deal with unarmed civilians who are merely protesting.

I hope your COPD flare up is better now.

Daily Kos: What you said is so true. There needs to be a federal investigation done there and soon. If everything I have heard on various news programs is true, there has been a massive cover up or negligence involved in the case. and BTW, I am sick of the Republican allusions to Cape Cod. Bush spent more time in Crawford, TX than he did in the White House.

Think Progress: Maybe he has spent too much time in Hobby Lobby and that is why he forgot what birth control is called.

Right Wing Watch: sob sob sob for her. Could it be that she has been forcing her beliefs on others and assuring them that only her beliefs are correct? Too many of these pseudo Christians use their beliefs to persecute others. My son says he doesn't remember any scripture that quotes Jesus saying the poor should pull themselves up by their sandal straps. Too many of those who are professing to be Christians and arguing that they are being persecuted don't actually know what Jesus taught.

Cartoon: So, do you think Chris is jealous of Rick?

Puzzle — 3:41 Man the life boats!

Daily Kos — Was it Pasco's "due process" that created the situation in the first place?

Think Progress — Is Mike Coffman related to Oops Perry? . . . or is this just SOP for Republicanus/Teabaggers who are told what to believe, whether they agree or not?

Right Wing Watch — (Sigh) . . . yet another pseudo Christian feeling paranoid about non existent persecution!

"They do not think you should be able to have that belief,” she said. “You’re not pushing that on someone else, it’s your own belief, you’re living it, … I think that they don’t want you to have the right to be a Christian.”

1) Who is "they"? I know of nobody that says you can't be a Christian.

2) Trouble is sweetie, you ARE pushing it. How many on the right are saying the Founding Fathers created a Christian nation? . . . when in fact they did not . . . they created a secular nation.

3) You're living a pseudo Christian life, not a Christian life.

4) see #1
