OCRACOKE, N.C. -- A third worker who had been preparing for an Independence Day celebration died from injuries suffered when a truckload of fireworks exploded on a dock at a remote North Carolina island, authorities said.

I have never condoned fireworks, especially after knowing the effects it has on animals... perhaps this is a sign that they should banned - they are dangerous.... So sad for this family

A shame this happened, but I agree with Chaz, or at least they should only be handled by people with training in explosives... Thanks Teresa!

I agree with you, these fireworks have to be handled carefully and away of children and animals, I´ve heard terrible stories that shouldn´t be ended in a drama.

And should be controlled.

I remember here in Mexico we could buy them with no problem long time ago. Now is more controlled but still we have accidents that could be avoid.
