Hospitals are definitely being advised to vaccinate against H1N1 instead of using face masks. What I don't like that the US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention is this shady area:

"The best way to protect staff and patients from the virus is to keep it out of the facility, the CDC advises.

"Examples ... include: taking steps to minimize outpatient visits for patients with mild influenza-like illness who do not have risk factors for complications, postponing elective visits by patients with suspected or confirmed influenza until they are no longer infectious, and denying entry to visitors who are sick," the CDC said. Partitions in waiting rooms can help reduce spread, as can special equipment for airway suction in patients with breathing tubes."

Am I being a little picky here or are they suggesting that if you're sick you should stay out of the hospitals??

It's the people who are vaccinated which should be quarantined....they are spreading a LIVE VIRUS.
The people who are vaccinated for the yearly flu also risk paralysis.
partial transcript:
Woman Disabled by THIS YEARS FLU SHOT (10 days AFTER vaccination )WASHINGTON, D.C. - A few weeks ago, Desiree Jennings was training for a half marathon. Now, she's struggling to walk, talk and even eat.

According to the Loudoun Times-Mirror , Jennings, who has been working with the Washington Redskins as an ambassador in hopes of becoming a cheerleader since April, developed severe and possibly life-threatening side effects from getting a seasonal flu vaccine seven weeks ago at a Safeway in Reston.

Twenty-five-year-old Jennings says she was healthy and active and was not in a high-risk group at the time of her shot.

She says she received the vaccine to earn points for her work health plan that gives perks for each level of wellness that is attained. It was not until ten days after she received the shot that she began to experience flu-like symptoms.

Her physical therapist at Johns Hopkins Hospital say she is suffering from dystonia, a neurological movement disorder where sustained muscle contractions cause body jerks, and abnormal or repetitive movements.

Those mask do not protect the person wearing them from any potential virus. What they do is reduce the spreading of any virus that individual has to those that are not sick. Now if you want to wear a full face respirator everywhere you go then you may have protection from airborne viruses if the filters are the right kind and the mask is properly fitted to the wearer. Oh, and make sure when you get back to the safety of your home you take a hot shower while still wearing the respirator so you get all those nasty viruses that have accumulated on your body while you were out and don't forget to disinfect your clothing before you shower. Come to think of it, I don't think there is a safe way from getting this virus, even the vaccine is a source and in addition to that it has some really bad side effects. Face it people if you are young, in poor health or pregnant you are screwed.

With all the substantiated evidence that has deemed the vaccine is in fact more deadly than the flu itself, with all of the lawsuits that have been filed by medical professionals, I think that the people who want the shots and the people who are trying to force them upon us should get the first vaccines! Problem solved!

I think that Vaccination and masks are just two ways to prevent but the most effective way to avoid the virus to come into the body is to wash our hands all the time and stop kissing other people. The virus needs to go in your mouth, nose or eyes to make you sick, so the solution, at the end, is in our own hands. Thanks Kat :-)

$$$ "As always with pandemic flus, taxpayers are footing the $1.5 billion check for the 250 million swine flu vaccines that the government has ordered so far and will be distributing free to doctors, pharmacies and schools. In addition, Congress has set aside more than $10 billion this year to research flu viruses, monitor H1N1's progress and educate the public about prevention." $$$

"A study published in the British Medical Journal (http://www.bmj.com/cgi/content/abstract/339/sep21_1/b3675) reports that simple measures such as washing your hands, wearing a mask and staying at home are extremely effective when it comes to preventing the spread of respiratory viruses such as the swine flu and the bird flu... this raises questions about the need for a trillion-dollar vaccination campaign with untested and toxic substances..."
