The Few. The Not-So-Proud. The Marines........well, that's how this Marine sergeants's dishonorable discharge is going to read!

Sgt. David W. Budwah, 34, of Springhill, La., will enter the plea at a court-martial hearing Wednesday at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Va. Budwah faces eight counts, including making false official statements, malingering, misconduct and larceny. They carry combined penalties of up to 31 1/2 years in prison and a dishonorable discharge.

How sad for all the servicemen who proudly do their jobs & serve this country--laying their lives on the line everyday....without asking for any recognition for their services, or injuries, and never even consider themselves heroes.

Quite embarrassing for this soon-2-be EX-marine!

What inner turmoil prompted such behavior ? We can condemn the behavior, but it's a good thing to care for the troubled individual who goes morally astray. May Mr. Budwah get the psychological & spiritual insights he apparently needs.

The Few, the Proud, the Marines - The Marine Corps does not let idiots like David W. Budwah get away with what he tried to get away with. They never leave a Marine behind in battle and they never allow creeps like Budwah do what he did trying to scam real heroes, without paying the price.
There are too many men and women who voluntarily give their lives in their service and defense of The United States and other countries as well, to allow this jerk get away with what he thought he could.
NO Way!
I hope they throw the book at him...

I can't help but think of the poor guy or gal he knocked out of going to these events. I guess he didn't think of that, or did he?

Well said David and Cynthia.

Budwah is a loser parasite.

Marines and other US Military service members are not looking for perfection, but the do expect loyalty, especially at a time of war when they have each others backs...

Budwah is clueless to what loyalty means. It's time he learns...

This fraud is the perfect reflection of the Bush administration, a government that was taken over by liars and crooks.

What an embarassment for this person and the price he will pay is high... perhaps we should look further under the blanket to see if there are any other underlying problems before we judge

He would make a good politician. Maybe he wants to run for president.
