If our country (and CONGRESS) doesn't start seriously looking at how to upgrade and modernize things here at home, we're going to continue to see these major shutdowns! These 2 grids involved areas as far and wide as the Florida Keys, Miama, Naples, and then on up into the northeastern area of the state! It's time $'s be spent right here at home instead of over in Iraq!

We got our electricity back after 3 hours , Nobody Knows what is the cause for sure . FPL after the hurricanes of 2 years ago its been charging customers about 17.00 a month for repairs and improvements , this does not show improvements at all , In fact if this happenned without a mayor reason I cant even want to see what is going to happens if a Hurricane comes this way on 08. We pay and pay but corporate america as well as the goverment dont care about The consumers .

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Power was restored Tuesday for most of Florida after A FAILED SWITCH and fire at an electrical substation outside Miami triggered widespread blackouts across the state.
And that's ALL???
We need DE-CENTRALIZATION; as well as REPAIRS TO THE INFRASTRUCTURE; which does NOT repair itself!
All our cities would CRUMBLE BACK INTO DUST if the INFRASTRUCTURE was not repaired!
Apparently, since there is NO MEGA-MONEY FOR CONTRACTORS to be made merely REPAIRING, the present mis-Administration will let ALL THE INFRASTRUCTURE IN ALL THE CITIES JUST GO TO HELL.
While filthily corrupt contractors CLEAN UP on stuff that is never even built, in Iraq and here, but that they get mega-contracts for.
