Obama & Clinton had a "serious conversation" yesterday regarding the position of SEC. of STATE. President-elect does not meet with potential Cabinet secretaries unless he is serious about making an offer, but Hillary wasn't in Chicago to see Oprah!

Are we getting closer to a post for HILLARY CLINTON on President-Elect Obama's cabinet? She's being quiet about the mtg. in Chicago yesterday, but the buzz sure isn't dying down.

Her comment: "I'm going to respect his process, and any inquiries should be directed to his transition team. "I am happy being a senator from New York. I love this state and this city," she said. "I am looking at the long list of things I have to catch up on and do. But I want to be a good partner, and I want to do everything I can to make sure his agenda is going to be successful."

I'm not reading about anyone unexpected or progressive so far in terms of appointed positions, which disappoints, but does not surprise me. In many respects, however, Hillary is a good choice.

We've yet to hear just whom Obama will pick for his Cabinet, so it's a bit too soon to say there's no one unexpected or progressive yet. But I do know, with 18 million backers, he might think a little seriously about having Hillary on his team.

I think that she'd better keep her day job. (Senator) Also, I'll bet that he picks Governor Richardson.

I am for Hillary! Richardson is a hunter and was caught hunting in a canned hunt! Where the animal can't get away! He is proud of what he did and is not ashamed! He poses proudly for his picture!! But he has done a lot of good in other animal welfare issues! A lot! Noted!

Living next door to Sen. Richardson (New Mexico/Arizona), I'm sure hoping that he's not going to be anything more important than a Border Patrol. I didn't care for him while he was running, and I still don't. Over-rated, over-inflated.

Ms. Clinton would be a real asset, plus she could follow through with some of her own agendas. I think she was being truthful when she told that lady while campaigning that she didn't want to see the country backslide. Thanks, Kat.

I think he will not choose her,and I hope if he asks she says no,he has taken so much already.I hope she keeps her senate seat,at least there she will still have some power, the sec of state is nothing more than a yes man job. Think this may be one of those keep your friends close ,but keep your enemies closer things.I also think Bill has too many fingers in too many pies and will make it impossible for her to do without a conflict of interest.

Either will be a good choice. Though I believe Obama should offer Clinton up a good position, because she was very popular. She never had my vote, but a lot of women thought she was the one. She is a smart lady.

I think it would be an excellent choice personally.....the best of both worlds.....ie a combination of both experience & fresh enthusiasm!

I know Hillary would be excellent Secretary of State and it would be an added pleasure to see a woman follow another woman in that position. If she wanted it, it would make a nice, albeit small, plum for not getting the nod for president or vice president candidacy. I am not sure why she would want it. She will certainly have trouble being re-elected on the next term and in terms of real power, discounting a dictator like Bush, senators, especially in the majority, wield more and can shape policy better. Bill Richardson will also make a terrific secretary although both have their opposition.

The Clinton$ have to quit their grandstanding ... it didn't serve them well trying to force Obama to pick Hillary for V.P., and it won't work now ...
