"If you are critical of a reactionary social movement, somehow you are a racist, a neo-con fascist," said Small. "The academy in the West is permeated [with this attitude.]"

The purveyors of political correctness are making a rod to scourge themselves with. I suppose it is much safer to hunt down doddering hundred-year-old Nazis, but the real threat lies elsewhere, with this religion of "peace."

This is not suprising. There is a huge double standard when it comes to this religion.

I don't think it would be legitimate in academia to "criticize" any religion.

Judy., why? When a society is built on a theocracy and that theocracy is reflected in the governing rules, criticizing such practices are perfectly legitimate.

I agree with Bob...why is religion exempt from critical discussion when the applications of that religion bring pain and misery to millions of women, children, Christians, Jews, atheists, homosexuals, artists, writers and people who believe in freedom of speech?

That's a serious question, by the way.....and, here at Care2, it often results in someone flinging labels of "Islamophobia, racism," blah, blah, blah.

Someone will piously remind us that "billions of people believe it" if that meant anything. If billions of people believe in the TOOTH FAIRY...does it mean I can't point out the nonsense?

Academia has fallen under the sway of "political correctness".....and it needs to WAKE UP and SPEAK OUT!
