The American Southwest has some of the best solar resources on the globe. Nevada, with abundant land and sunshine is becoming a hot bed for the solar industry.

"Solar projects totaling more than 10,000 MW have land requests from the Bureau of Land Management in Southern Nevada. If constructed, these solar plants would bring over $40 billion of investment to Nevada."

Great, more reason to round up the wild horses, sell them for slaughter, let the baby colts die, writhering in the heat without their mother's milk.
This is a rape of the native's home.

why the hell can't they just put them on every roof top that exists???????????? Roofs are very hot from sun shine. We can not use up all the land that exists just for this either.

To power the entire US, day and night, 92 miles by 92 miles of land is needed. I don't think it is very much land. Solar power plants that use solar thermal (heat) are much more efficient than solar electric panels that are used on rooftops.

erm... to maximise efficiency and make maintenance and upgrades easier?

isn't this better than generating nuclear waste and putting up more fossil fuel powered power stations? this should also be emissions free and have minimal impact on land. plus since it doesn't involve reactive materials, it wouldn't have the risks of fire, explosion, meltdowns of conventional power plants.

heck... where's my text ..lol. ... Great News Post Sarah

Hi Jodi ...., it's a government controlled thingy. Bushy doesn't want a cut in his pay check and nor does any of his corporate bullies ..lol.

I love the idea of being independent, living OFF the grid and using my own solar power.
