Around 4 p.m. Sunday, C.J. Kowall of Murfreesboro got a visit at his home that every parent of a child in the service dreads. His son, Army Spc. Corey Kowall, 20, was killed in a crash after serving in Afghanistan for nearly five weeks.

My sister and my brother-in-law are close friends with Corey's father, CJ. I immediately thought of my Care 2 family and how loving and thoughtful you all are. If you get a chance and would like to send a kind message to CJ; I know the thoughts would mean much to him. Support and love from others hopefully will help ease his terrible heartache from the loss of his son and friend, Corey.

Even though we may not believe in this war or any war, it doesn't change the fact that Corey was a brave young man who lost his life trying to help others. You all are great and I know your love and support will make a difference! Thank you. You can email CJ in care of my sister ( who will print them out and deliver them to him) @ emsodergren@comcast.net.

Corey also has a girlfriend, Ashley who is a sophomore in college if you'd like to send her one as well! She and Corey hoped to marry when he returned.

Thanks! You all are a blessing to the world.

Thank you Meg.

Prayers for his father, family and girlfriend. It happens way to often we unfortunately loose a "special" person from something that they had no control over. While being a special and honorable man, he left this earth, and sadly all of the people that loved him are left behind to miss him and his special heart.

My father served his country too, Marine WWII first one to paratroop into Iwo Jima, so hard to see friends that never come back and the ones that do make it back are never the same.

Again, Thanks Meg, with today being Sunday, this special mans family will be in my prayers and I know he is now with our "Father" looking down and guarding all of us who are still alive here on this earth.

God Bless and keep you! Corey you had such a short life, you will be missed and never ever forgotton!
