I cannot for the life of me figure out if people are ignorant, cruel, or just greedy. They are destroyers. Great video. Thanks Melinda

I thought we were educated? Why is the human species so dumb? The things that matter seem to be buried under mankinds desire for power, wealth and control. Where does it go when they die and what have they left besides destruction! This is sooo disgusting,

I have shared this on Facebook! Its all about creating awareness!

A petition should have a target! The rainforest is no target.....
You should never start a petition without a target and a great letter to the target!
Its nothing but a waste of time so sign these kind of petitions! 99% of all petitions are a waste of time!
No target? Forget it!

Wonderful video. So disheartening this beautiful land is being destroyed and putting all of the animals living there in danger. Greed is a wicked, evil thing.
Thank you Melinda.

I send for feedback, because I want to know if this petition is all about "awareness", and asked the author what he/she is going to do with our signatures?

I wish, people who start a petition would use a proper target and tell us in the target if this is about awareness or where our signatures are being send to.
It is só much work to send for feedback so many times and often they even don't reply...!!

Cross posting the video was a great idea! And I will do this too, but I did not sign the "petition".
Noted with thanks Robert and Melinda.

AGREE,AGREE,AGREE, Hans and Suzanna - I've lost count of the number of petitions without targets I've sent feedback to! I always include a link to Trudi's C2NN article -

http://www.care2.com/news/member/983472137/741767

I've received some positive responses, some have amended the target without responding - that's fine! - but the majority just don't bother to respond.
Unfortunately, it seems that the majority of petitions have no target, often no clear aim,are badly constructed and spelled, and even with proper names mis-spelled. ) I think this would be counter-productive to what they are trying to achieve!

There's an excellent post in the PetitionSite group about this subject especially # 4)- in part -

"Petition Authors: To ensure that your electronic signatures ARE taken seriously:
1) Require the full name and address of the person signing.
2) Allow additional comments, but don't require them.
3) Keep the petition simple and brief enough so that signers will read the whole thing, but informative enough for signers to form an opinion.
4) CHECK YOUR SPELLING AND GRAMMAR!!! Nothing looks less professional than a petition with errors all over it.
5) If it is a local issue, ask that only local people sign it.
6) Put a deadline on it-and then delete the petition from the site after its deadline is up! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
7) Once the deadline or goal is reached, send the collected signatures to the recipient IMMEDIATELY. "

I think a petition, to make crystal clear to petition authors just WHAT is meant by TARGET and GOAL, with CARE2 as the TARGET, is what's needed here!

I don't think there would be any problem reaching a sizeable signature GOAL! I'll be first in line to sign!

The Big Industry Power Moguls are using "poverty versus the 'higher standard of living' promise" against the Amazon native people, as they are and have been corrupting the innocent worldwide!!!

What Big Industry does, is first pass legislation to make things tougher on any indigenous native people, and create whatever pressure necessary to make those targeted people become more desperate!

Example: Restrict Trade Agreements . . .etc., and this is always done prior to Big Industry moving into the targeted area!

Then next, Big Industry sends in polished specialists that are supremely paid well ($$$) to make contact with the indigenous natives, and gives a presentation of films and slide-shows --- a regular CEO presentation of the highest caliber, in order to show the natives what they could be having --- to become great like them --- show them what they are missing!!!

And finally the recruitment drive begins, this brings in all able-body paid slaves to work and become employed by the 'Big Project' with the 'Big Promise'.

But then, the native people of these targeted regions realize, that their homes, lands and very environmental existence is being wiped-out, polluted and stripped of life,

Usually after all this, when Big Industry can't extract another drop of oil, trees or whatever they seek, they then just LEAVE and move on to the next prepared targeted area!

No real and true compensation --- only complete moral and environmental devastation is left behind in their wake!!!

This is a 24/7/365 industry of subtrefuge and deceit, with levels of extraordinary planning, that leads directly back to every national president, dictator or king (queen) having full knowledge of and giving their full blessing to this procedure!

They have become empowered by our need for toilet paper, writing paper, gasoline, toothpicks, petroleum plastics and a host of endless modern 'necessities' of the 'higher standard of living'; which will ultimately lead to:

=========== EXTINCTION =============

THIS IS THE PRICE OF COMFORT FOR TODAY!!!

This past weekend I had to fly for a family event and as usual, I stare out the plane wndow at the land below.... I hate what I see! There is so little forest left, and the little pockets that are left are continuosly being flatened for more houses. It is so hard to see this happening. Don't we have enough land? Why aren't we building UP and not out!!???!!?? One day very soon we will run out of land, what will we do then? As I stare out the window I always wonder where the animals go. There isn't anywhere FOR them to go. Please, we need to put a stop to this, we need to preserve what little forest we have left. Even the small little pockets scattered across the country... the world.... One day we are going to wake up and the entire planet will be a parking lot.

Very good video. We should do everthing possible to end this destruction of any forest where animals live, especially the ones we list that are on the brink of extinction and if we let this go on, all will be on that list.

Very moving video. If we don't stop this destruction now, we will all suffer, in ways we cannot yet imagine.
