He's far from perfect, but who's going to replace him? John McCain? Sarah Palin? One of those guys who wants to gut Social Security and Medicare, or do away with welfare so that they can give the taxpayers' money to build more nuclear weapons and wage several more wars?? Or one of the so-called Democrats who are actually Republicans in disguise? If he gets chosen to run again, I'm going to vote for him again. Better the Devil you know . . .

How about taking a positive vs. negative tack on this, anti-elitists? For example, Grayson, Kucinich, etc. come to mind. With enough of us pushin' on real McCoy progressive vs. phony baloney run, Oh Bomb Ah just might not be renominated.

And then there's Bernie Sanders, Independent from Vermont - he is terrific! And knee jerk G.O.P.ers and knee jerk Dems., folks highly unlikely to vote for anyone who is not of their party, can and do pull the lever for an independent who has proved him or herself.

So.....please, anti-elitists, don't ask us to be premature in saying absolutely no to Oh Bomb Ah. If it means our non-vote would elect another Koch sucking, Bushwhacking puppet whore, I'd have to hold my nose and, as disappointed in him as I am, pull the lever once again for Oh Bomb Ah.

Of course, none of us ever know if our vote will be honestly counted if electronic vote and/or count/scan equipment is used. Could very well be that the "it's gonna be a close election" erzatz polling results will start hitting and spinning us in a few months, no matter how idiotic, low I.Q., or Koch sucking the Tea Party candidate is. And then, another Florida, 2000 to further enslave us and the rest of the world.

Let's, instead, work hard to zero in on a strong candidate to be leader who will fight like hell with us to UNDO THE COUP, and join us in our determination in seeing to it we get real Change, vs. Oh Bomb Ah spin, a leader who will mean it when he or she yells with us.....

Mmmmmm...I see you are drinking Nancy Pelosi's Kool Aide too that the Republicans hate women...there is more than her saying that too..oh yes..the Republicans just hate funny if it wasn't so sad and pathetic! There is one state too and I want to say Colorado that are about to make it law that anyone running for President HAS TO show a legal Birth Certificate and other records in order to be on the ballot! That will be very interesting especially seeing other states following suit! You guys better have a lot of life boats handy so you can bail the sinking ship!!!!!!

And vote for whom? A mega millionaire whose biggest thrill is firing people on tv? An old war horse who can barely talk? A ditz who thinks she can see Russia from her house? And for what reason? So we can increase military spending some more? So we can totally obliterate the middle class? So we can totally destroy what little environment we have left? If you guys spent as much energy trying to solve problems as you do hating Obama, we'd sure be in better shape....

If Obama had lived up to his campaign promises, like a transparent presidency, no new taxes, no public funding of abortion and get out of the wars, he may have made a decent president. But we do not know who we elected and he is not about to show us who we elected for President. So much for transparency. I would like to say, GO Obama, out of the counry! keep our dollars at home.

Duuuhhh! Thanks for the reminder, Rita! Before the 2008 election, I wanted Dennis Kucinich. If he gets the nomination, my guess is that he'd win hands down. Everyone is sick of sending our young people off to die in horrible foreign places for the sake of oil, of talking about cutting Medicare so we can build more bombs and wage more wars. (People get killed in wars, you know!) Also: Who are we going to use all these bombs on? The UFO men? Ha! They could zap us all into the Oort Cloud!

Let's concentrate on finding a candidate who (a) eschews starting any more wars unless someone directly attacks us. (Again, who's going to do that? The UFO men?) (b) takes care of those of us who aren't in a position to really help themselves - the very young, the very poor, the handicapped, those who are so disadvantaged they have no idea how to make their own lives better, and (c) someone who tells the rich grafters where to get off. They don't need any help. The very old, the sick, the handicapped, those whose families have been poor for generations don't have the resources to buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks - much less send their kids to college. What IS Dennis Kuchinich doing these days?

Mary D (64)
Wednesday April 13, 2011, 11:34 am
PS. I'm not against being rich, by the way. I still hope I might get there some day. (My sons are already on their way!) But in spite of the fact that we all want to be rich enough to have some security and a few extras, the people we're talking about are the reverse of Robin Hood: They want to take from the poor and give it all to themselves!

Before we get all fired up about defeating Obama in 2012, who do you propose should represents the interests of the American middle-class? No one comes to mind. Granted, Obama has been more than a disappointment. Is there such a thing as a bare-knuckle street fighter democrat or independent? Because that's what the middle class must have to combat the corporate, right-wing money unleashed by the (Bush-appointment dominated) Supreme Court's Citizens United (corporations ARE people and entitled to free speech) decision. The Koch Brothers and Carl Rowe are salivating at the chance to use their new-found mountain of campaign cash to defeat Obama. Be careful what you wish for.

Thank God the president listened to the American people and not the demonic GOP.
President Obama unveiled a framework Wednesday to reduce borrowing over the next 12 years by $4 trillion ó a goal that falls short of targets set by his deficit commission and House Republicans ó and called for a new congressional commission to help develop a plan to get there.
In his most ambitious effort to claim the mantle of deficit cutter, Obama proposed sharp new cuts to domestic and military spending, and an overhaul of the tax code (tax the rich) that would raise fresh revenue. But he steered clear of fundamental changes to Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security ó the primary drivers of future spending.

Sigh. I always say that the American Right is immune to facts. When i saw Bill Clinton last summer, he said they're impervious to evidence. So it is with birthers. You are aware aren't you that the FBI vets all Presidential candidates? Part of that process is verifying the birth certificate. The only problem the FBI found was that John McCain was born in Panama.

If you are sure Obama is not a citizen, then it is your civic duty to march yourself right down to your local FBI office and call them liars. Let us know how that turns out.

What proof do you want? Aside from the birth certificate Obama published on his campaign website? Aside from the archival copy of his birth certificate that the state of Hawaii authenticated - twice? Aside from the birth announcements placed by the Hawaii Department of Health in two Hawaiian newspapers that were uncovered by reporters?

If all of that were false or faked, Obama would still be a US citizen, based on his mother's citizenship:

Title 8 of the US Code, Section 1401 includes this in the many circumstances that confer citizenship:

Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years.

This birther thing always smacked to me of the Karl Rove tactic of accusing the other guy of that of which you are guilty. There's a very good legal case that John McCain is not eligible to be President.

Senator McCain was born in 1936 in the Canal Zone to U.S. citizen parents. The Canal Zone was territory controlled by the United States, but it was not incorporated into the Union. As requested by Senator
McCain's campaign, distinguished constitutional lawyers Laurence Tribe and Theodore Olson examined the law and issued a detailed opinion offering two reasons that Senator McCain was a natural born citizen.
Neither is sound under current law. The Tribe-Olson Opinion suggests that the Canal Zone, then under exclusive U.S. jurisdiction, may have been covered by the Fourteenth Amendment's grant of citizenship to
"all persons born . . . in the United States." However, in the Insular Cases, the Supreme Court held that "unincorporated territories" were not part of the United States for constitutional purposes.
Accordingly, many decisions hold that persons born in unincorporated territories are not Fourteenth Amendment citizens. The Tribe-Olson Opinion also suggests that Senator McCain obtained citizenship by
statute. However, the only statute in effect in 1936 did not cover the Canal Zone. Recognizing the gap, in 1937, Congress passed a citizenship law applicable only to the Canal Zone, granting Senator
McCain citizenship, but eleven months too late for him to be a citizen at birth. Because Senator John McCain was not a citizen at birth, he is not a "natural born Citizen" and thus is not "eligible to the Office of President" under the Constitution.

One Big @$$ Mistake America

That should sum it up. Just another lame liberal excuse for leadership, puppetted by those supposed to be under him. So far he's done nothing useful, just got us deeper in debt. Here's hoping the whole lot, Obama, Biden, Reid, Pelosi, and related scum like Schumer, Holder, both Klintons, and the rest of the left wing get kicked out of politics.

I'm unimpressed with feudal 'right wingers' as well. McCain is a fossil and Palin is a poacher. With that poor a showing in the 2008 general election, my only question is why more people didn't vote 3rd party.

Here's hoping we get something workable in 2012. We need to scrap Obamacare, rip out every 'act' and stupid law since 20 Jan 1993, and try again. Komrad Klinton and his hag are traitors, Shrub (Bush Jr) is a moron, and Obama is a puppet with Biden and Reid showing brown hands. Useless! We need another Reagan or even Nixon!

Personally, I am very disappointed in President Obama. By anyone's standards, he received a mandate in 2008, but chose to "reach across the aisle" and "look forward, not back". He should have immediately called for a "Truth Commission" to look into the numerours allegations against his predecessor's regime. His willingness to work so easily with the opposition was seen as a weakness by that opposition, and we've been paying for it ever since... most notably in 2010, when so many of his disappointed "base" sat out the election, and caused the Democrats who managed to hold onto their offices to veer "right" politically... with precious few exceptions.
If President Obama is challenged by a progressive with a backbone, like Dennis Kucinich, Bernie Sanders, Russ Feingold, THAT is who I will support in the primary.
BUT... I will NEVER throw my vote away in protest, or stay home on election day. A vote NOT cast is like giving the Koch suckers two votes... and that could very well mean the irreversible (except by revolution) beginning of real serfdom in this country.

First of all, I didn't want to get into this fray. You all seem to want a magician who can wave a wand and magically fix the economy. The damage that took a nearly a decade or so, an just be undone in two years to begin with. Obama is man who thinks long term and looks at the big picture. He intimated as much on the night he won the election. But everybody wants things done yesterday! Hello? He's only a man not God. It was your whining and impatience..instead of getting off your arses and helping where you can, that got you a bunch of anti-human TEA baggers in the house. They are trying to stop every progressive move the man is making. Go ahead, whine, get him out and see what you get! A BLOODY DARK AGE FOR AMERICA! Obama is a good man, No, he's not perfect..(he's human), but he's a darn site better than what you'll get in the repugs who have but one interest at heart...look out for the rich. And for those who think the administration hasn't been transparent in all it's doing..instead of listening to the crap and the lies on Faux News and the others.. Go the site and everything that the administration has done is laid out there. GROW UP ALREADY! Rome wasn't built in a day!

Obama is a moderate Democrat, so of course there are many progressives and 'lefter leaning' liberals who are unhappy that he did not live up to the socialist epithet Republicans have falsely hung on him. Considering the fact that he has had to deal with a Republican party that is hell bent on seeing to it that he accomplishes absolutely nothing, I will vote for him in 2012, and will campaign for him as well.

Going out on a limb . . . What do you expect from the Face Book crowd who are spending all their time talking to each other of their personal lives, stupid TV shows, movies, and "celebrity" gossip. While I'm sure that doesn't apply to all, I'll bet it's a large majority.

I do not understand why people think that Obama could accomplish anything with an obstructionist Congress, he did accomplish a lot. See: (lst of 4 parts - others on site)

244 accomplishments in his first 20 months! More than any president did in 8 years.

If we really want him to be able to accomplish more, then we have to have a large Democratic majority in both the House and Senate and make sure they are really behind the people and not Corporations and the super rich.

Tim Geithner should be replaced; he has been too close to the banks.

Obama needs to address the Federal Income tax. At the very least raise the exemption amount to what it should be based on the inflation rates not given over the years and restore a least the 50% tax rate on those earning above $1,000,000, close the loopholes, and other exceptions. The whole thing needs to be simplified and rewritten; ten thousand plus pages is rediculous.

Voting for the Republicans, you can kiss you a** goodbye. Undermining his reelection by diverting your vote to others will do the same.

This also goes for state and local elections. Ignore campaigne ads, do your research on the candidate's backgrounds, and vote for people who have shown they are for the people and not connected to Wall Street, banks, oil and gas companies, etc.

I am through with this birth certificate BS. IT'S OLD. And it has been proven true that he is an American, if you were in the hospital with his mother looking at the live birth, you would still Not believe, so I am tired of hearing it, some people on here are so blind and stupid I am ashamed to call you fellow Americans, you obviously are children of another ilk. Just because you hate the color of his skin it makes you look like ,the racist that you are and you're in the closet, you don't listen. Heaven help us all with that. I am through with the lies and the paranoia. And after what the Repugs did to the people in Wisconsin, I cannot vote for the KOCH brothers who are working through these TeaBaggers, and The President will win, his job is not over, and the time that he has been in office is not enough time for him to dismantle the rape that the Republicans, Bush et-al have done to this great country.

I agree that the Birther nonsense has got to stop but it won't as long as too many viewers watch faux news.
I will vote for Obama again, because I think he is just getting started!
His budget proposal mentioned reforming the tax code and closing the loop holes, and he is trying to minimize cuts to the Domestic programs that keep the fabric of our society intact.
What I would like to see from him, but We the People have to ask him to do it, is to come up with his version of The New Deal like Franklin Roosevelt did.
He taxed the wealthy, he founded americorps ( Obama has expanded americorps), and utilized the power of executive orders to the American Automobile Associations to produce war materials to go after the Japanese and then the Germans.
This is that Obama (FDR) Moment: The American people are in a Depression -- The Oil Corporations and the Financial Industry are laughing at us and they are laughing all the way to the Bank with record profits.
We the People need to Organize and March to Washington: Like they are doing in the Middle East and in the european Union, that We have had enough and that they need to pay their fair share of the Taxes.
This Country was founded because our founders were fed up with supporting the King and its Court!
The People of the United States are Fed up with Supporting the 1% of the Super Wealthy, The Tax codes need to be reformed and Citizen vs. United needs to be Amended in the Constitution, that Corporations are Not Persons, and that if they ever get too powerful, as too be able to unduly effect our free electoral process then such a Corporation needs to be broken up and or dissolved as it is a mortal threat to our Democracy and is a threat to our National Security.

The GOP should work on correcting their mistakes, such as ending the wars they started that bankrupted the United States, bringing back the jobs they sent overseas, restore the manufacturing that they destroyed and stop being obsessed with Plan Parenting Organizations. There is not one GOP politician that is for the citizens of the United States. They are only interested in their own power and glory as many Dictators are. They all have to be voted out of office.

I think Care2 has been taken over by the pee party. It's great in theory but who is the alernative? We have a 2 party system and I don't think it will be changed by 2012 so if you don't vote for Obama who will you vote for? Trump, Palin? I am in complete agreement that he is a big disappointment but if you didn't vote for him in 2008, we would have McCain/Palin; do you really think that would have been better? At least you know where they stand. Obama is a closet Republican to me. But, it's not Obama's fault that he doesn't have the guts to stand up to the Republicans. Last week, they held America hostage over Planned Parenthood; soon they will be doing it again with Medicare. I think it is the Republicans that need to go not Obama. His health care plan will save the country money; we should all be on it and put in the health insurance companies out of business. Congress should be making laws to improve America but they want to protect the rich and corporations at the expense of the poor and middle class. Congress is broken and needs to be fixed. The ride to remove ESA protection from the gray wolf should not be in a budget bill yet the Republicans were able to slip it in. So we end up with legislation that is the good, the bad, and ugly. That is inefficient. For now, I will stay out of the anti-Obama fray. Come up with solutions not just whining.

Clearly the site is owned and operated by the same fear-mongering, disinformationists that gave us the ignorance of the Tea Party, the GOP and many other extremist right wing groups, still ignoring that most of what they are complaining about came about under Bush, not Obama.

I am surprised that there wasn't anything from the birthers there, but I didn't look at all of the links.

But there is a religious parallel component to this: In Genesis, God lied to Adam and Eve, while the serpent told the truth.

In current politics, Bush and the GOP lied to the American people while Obama told the truth. I would follow an honest serpent before blindly following a lying political party, such as the GOP gives us..

Rep. Ryan Charts A Path To Perdition, Not Prosperity

Republicans on the House Budget Committee, led by chairman Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., have sent to the House floor a budget for fiscal year 2012 that would have sweeping and devastating effects on middle-class and low-income people. According to our analysis, it would force seniors to pay more for their health care, it would threaten the ability of middle-class families to afford a home, it would make it harder for many families to send their children to college, and it would cost the economy jobs, not create them.

What are they going to replace him with? Lots of politicians and sound bites with dubious records and even more questionable leadership skills. The last president wasn't worth dick either, no matter how much people want to pretend otherwise.
Get rid of the two party system, special interest funding political campaigns, and evoke critical critic of any perspective office holder's voting records and actions over his/her time in public office would be a great place to start, although, I realise this is alot to demand of the american people, who largely desire to stay ignorant of pertient information and make the best choice not only for themselves but for their country, where all are represented as they should be.
Just look at the number of clowns that have sat in the Oval Office over the past fifty years and the ill informed, self serving to see why we have the problems we have today.

Stand by the President's Vision

President Obama has called for a plan that ensures we can live within our means while still investing in our future. I stand by his vision to:

* Rein in the deficit while protecting seniors and the middle class, and making the investments we need to win the future;
* Ensure that the most vulnerable Americans are not the only ones sharing the burden of fiscal responsibility;
* Keep spending low while strengthening Medicare and Medicaid, and end trillions in tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires who don't need them; and
* Set aside partisanship in favor of a renewed sense of shared responsibility and shared sacrifice.

However, Care-2 is now bought and paid for by Obama, and Care-2 has been censoring my free speech against Obama for two months now, so, beware,... remember,... big money changes everything... So do you deny that the 2012 election for Obama is going to be a difficult battle, rather than his original slam-dunk and would you prefer total media censorship that would not allow this article to exist???

I believe everyone has the right to know the facts in regard as to what's going on around them in the real world ... The Truth!

So if you are in favor of Obama to become president for a second tenure in office and you are in favor of globalized socialism enslavement behind a Chinese sewing machine 16 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, 24/7/365, as you are marched to and from your militarized work-camp, then by all means you must work triple hard to get Obama re-elected!!!

LOL at Josh and Mindy! How do you tell some one they are brain washed who refuse to hear it? Get ready to end the BUSH/Right wing tax cuts!

Jason --

The President's speech today began a new conversation in Washington about how to reduce the deficit while protecting crucial investments in our country's future.

But as we seek to build an organization based outside of Washington, President Obama's speech also provides an unusually stark contrast -- one all of us can use to start conversations with our friends and neighbors about what's at stake in this election.

He spoke about things you don't generally hear in Washington conversations too often dominated by special interests: He'll cut waste and excess at the Pentagon -- particularly spending that is requested not by our military, but by politicians and corporate interests.

He'll eliminate tax cuts for Americans in the highest tax brackets who don't need them, including himself -- and he will reform the individual tax code so that it's fair and simple and so that the amount of taxes you pay isn't determined by what kind of accountant you can afford.

Some cuts he proposed are tough. But they're also smart and surgical -- helping us balance our books while still doing the right things to win the future. President Obama's plan would protect the middle class, invest in our kids' education, and make sure we don't protect the wealthiest Americans from the costs of reform at the expense of the most vulnerable.

The other side has presented a very clear alternative: End Medicare as we know it, privatizing the program that millions of seniors rely on for health care. Make deep cuts to education. Slash investments in clean energy and infrastructure. All to pay for tax cuts for people making over $250,000 a year, and all while actually raising our national debt.

In short, their plan will please a special interest donor base and those who put ideology before results rather than reduce deficits over the long term. And let's be clear: They think they can get away with it because, fundamentally, they don't think you'll do anything about it.

That's where I know we can prove them wrong. Because we can respond right now by building an organization that will stop them -- not just in this deficit battle, but in the next election so they never have the chance to enact these proposals.

Here's the first step. Join our fight for a deficit reduction plan that will actually reduce the deficit -- with a goal of shared prosperity through shared responsibility. Add your name to support President Obama's plan -- and then help bring more people into the conversation:

President Obama made a promise in his speech today. He said that we won't have to sacrifice programs like Medicaid and Social Security -- programs that millions of Americans rely on -- as long as he's President. He's committed to seeking serious solutions to the problems we face while still upholding the larger responsibilities we have to one another. So it's our job to build the organization that's going to keep him in the White House.

Please add your name in this crucial moment -- and then reach out to your friends and neighbors.

More soon,

Jim Messina
Campaign Manager
Obama for America

P.S. -- If you missed President Obama's speech earlier today, some excerpts are below:

1. "Our approach lowers the government's health care bills by reducing the cost of health care itself.

"Already, the reforms we passed in the health care law will reduce our deficit by $1 trillion. My approach would build on these reforms. We will reduce wasteful subsidies and erroneous payments. We will cut spending on prescription drugs by using Medicare's purchasing power to drive greater efficiency and speed generic brands of medicine onto the market. We will work with governors of both parties to demand more efficiency and accountability from Medicaid. We will change the way we pay for health care -- not by procedure or the number of days spent in a hospital, but with new incentives for doctors and hospitals to prevent injuries and improve results. And we will slow the growth of Medicare costs by strengthening an independent commission of doctors, nurses, medical experts and consumers who will look at all the evidence and recommend the best ways to reduce unnecessary spending while protecting access to the services seniors need."

2. "But let me be absolutely clear: I will preserve these health care programs as a promise we make to each other in this society. I will not allow Medicare to become a voucher program that leaves seniors at the mercy of the insurance industry, with a shrinking benefit to pay for rising costs. I will not tell families with children who have disabilities that they have to fend for themselves. We will reform these programs, but we will not abandon the fundamental commitment this country has kept for generations."

3. "In December, I agreed to extend the tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans because it was the only way I could prevent a tax hike on middle-class Americans. But we cannot afford $1 trillion worth of tax cuts for every millionaire and billionaire in our society. And I refuse to renew them again."

4. "This is my approach to reduce the deficit by $4 trillion over the next twelve years. It's an approach that achieves about $2 trillion in spending cuts across the budget. It will lower our interest payments on the debt by $1 trillion. It calls for tax reform to cut about $1 trillion in spending from the tax code. And it achieves these goals while protecting the middle class, our commitment to seniors, and our investments in the future.

"So this is our vision for America -- a vision where we live within our means while still investing in our future; where everyone makes sacrifices but no one bears all the burden; where we provide a basic measure of security for our citizens and rising opportunity for our children."

5. "But no matter what we argue or where we stand, we've always held certain beliefs as Americans. We believe that in order to preserve our own freedoms and pursue our own happiness, we can't just think about ourselves. We have to think about the country that made those liberties possible. We have to think about our fellow citizens with whom we share a community. And we have to think about what's required to preserve the American Dream for future generations.

"This sense of responsibility -- to each other and to our country -- this isn't a partisan feeling. It isn't a Democratic or Republican idea. It's patriotism."

Jason --

The big vote is tomorrow.

Republicans are trying to ram through a disgraceful budget that would destroy Medicare, drive an entire generation of seniors into poverty, but give the wealthiest Americans even more tax cuts.

Itís shameful. Itís immoral. And it deserves our strongest possible response.

We are crafting a forceful Rapid Response ad campaign that will take the fight directly to the Republicans and hold them accountable for trying to destroy Medicare -- but we must raise $50,000 by Midnight Tomorrow to get going.

First they tried to get rid of NPR. Then they tried to defund Planned Parenthood.

Now the Republicans and their radical fringe enablers in the Tea Party are waging class warfare on steroids just so they can give the rich even more tax breaks.

Their extremist budget would end Medicare as we know it and force seniors to clip coupons if they need to see a doctor.

Thom's blog
Republican Hostage Crisis is in the Works
Our economy is screwed. Top Republicans have come forward to say they are more than willing to crash our economy by pushing back a vote on raising the debt ceiling until July. On May 16th - our nation is expected to reach its debt limit - and if no action is taken we could be facing a Greek-style implosion of our economy.

But Republicans feel that if they can push the vote back until July - after we've hit that ceiling - they can have more leverage to negotiate away spending that they don't like - primarily spending that benefits working class people - seniors - women - and children. Treasury officials have come forward to say that any delay in the debt-ceiling vote could have "highly disruptive" effects on our markets.

Looks like another Republican hostage crisis is in the works - They're saying that if we don't let them throw women - children - and poor people out on the streets - then they'll blow the economy up."

Yeah. Let's do it all over again! Duh!

He and his buddies are closet racists, without a doubt, and sometimes not hiding in the closet.

Do you think you are fooling, anyone?
May I set you straight, in the event you are not paying attention!
President Obama's supporters, are not only, still in his court, more independents and conservatives are coming on board.

It's a shame that you two lovely people and your cohorts, are in denial.
Believe it or not, the wealthy are not the only citizens of importance in our nation. The poor, the elderly, the unhealthy, both mentally and physically and our children, are also, relevant members of our society.

Surely, you don't want a Tea Partier to be in charge of our country, some of the most selfish people on the face of our planet.
Tell us, please, whom do you suggest, as your favorable leader?

There is an extremely beckoning mystery not being addressed concerning Mr. Barack Obama!

His wife Michelle Obama was a director for the Chicago Chapter of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), however the Chicago Chapter mysteriously changed its name to become the Council on Global Affairs just 9 months prior to Mr. Obama's announcement of running for presidential office.

Nearly everyone surrounding Mr. Obama officially belongs to the Council on Foreign Relations ... EXCEPT for Mr. Obama himself ... No official record of his joining exists!

Mr. Obama has purposely distanced himself from becoming an active member, but he cannot turn around in his administration without bumping into an active CFR member ...

It might have something do with what he doesn't want the public to see on his 'official' live birth certificate, which he has spent millions of dollars to secure from public view.

People should research this and ask themselves some serious questions here and not just allow themselves to engage in mindless political self-protectionism alone!!!

Let me begin by saying that I am DEEPLY disappointed in President Obama. His actions since he took office nowhere nearly resemble the "change" that CANDIDATE Obama advocated. On the other hand, McCain/Palin would have been decidedly worse, and I would NEVER cast my vote for people whose STATED objectives matches theirs. There was nowhere to go but down after the election with those people.

But, I find a much larger and more disturbing topic at issue here and in some of the related posts made by PinkMindy in the Care 2 Group and other places. Particularly given the dire economic conditions we are facing and the desperation of MANY Americans, I strongly believe that it is wholly irresponsible and downright dangerous to post the videos she did (most of which include using copyrighted images, the use of which violates copyright infringement laws) - apparently assembled by the "MAD Hatter" - videos, which suggest that President Obama is the Antichrist. Images, which depict him as Satan, are just as reprehensible, if not dangerous.

I can fully understand a political disagreement. I can also understand working hard toward a rational political objective. I can even appreciate working to replace undesirable elected officials. But, I will NEVER countenance the use of materials, which are potentially dangerous and which could easily drive some far right-wing, religious person, who is teetering on the edge of sanity, to attempt an assassination of ANYONE. That is exactly the kind of results which materials, such as those videos and characterizations, can cause.

I might have taken a political article, which rails against an incumbent, as rational and meaningful, if the persons making the arguments were not engaging in behavior, which is dangerous, cartoonish, and insulting to the intelligence of most sane Americans. Having seen the other posts by PinkMindy and the MAD Hatter, I am unable to give any credibility to ANYTHING they say . What a waste of reputation and trustworthiness. I would never sacrifice my reputation and my integrity for such nonsense. No one else should, either. Before you sign on to someone's article or their agenda, please look at the person in his/her entirety. Do not follow the Pied Piper, just because he/she is playing a tune that appears pleasing to the ears at the moment.

Let us hope that these materials do not fall into the wrong hands, that they are not taken as "Divine orders" to carry out violence. We do NOT need any more Gabrielle Giffords, lying in a pool of blood, with a bullet hole to the head. Shame on your reckless disregard for life and for the truth.

If you are going to argue points then use facts. It IS NOT FACT that it was the GOP that is bankrupting America. It started with the Clinton administration when demands were taken off of the likes of mortgages making it possible for people who never should have been able to - to buy houses. The DEMS DID THAT - not the GOP.

I could go on and on correcting the blatant progressive crap in this thread but why is it that a Canadian seems to know the facts about what has actually happened in America better than you Americans do? How much research have you personally put into this? Leave ALL MEDIA IN AMERICA ALONE - THEY ARE ALL LYING TO YOU. LOOK FOR THE TRUTH YOURSELF.

The birther issue is just a distraction. Drop it as it makes the right look nuts and independants are the votes that are needed to be won away from Obama. HE IS A SOCIALIST. HE IS DESTROYING YOUR COUNTRY AS YOU NOW KNOW IT AND YOU MUST GET RID OF THIS PRETENDER.

People get up off your asses and take care of yourselves. Granted there will always be those that truly cannot and the rest of us working people will support them, but not those that are capable of working for themselves. Clinton took monies from Social Security to make a false claim that he balanced the budget. Very funny Leah "tea party tool" Lax.

Man, itís just insane how many right wing tools have gotten on this web site. Do they really think we here are that dumb?

As far as the Green Party supporters, I truly applaud you. I used to feel the same way and what did we get? 8 years of Bush. We have to be very careful how we implement this 3rd party idea. It seems this doesn't work in a democratic government. Our nation was meant to not have political parties, just people running for the various representative offices and president. From what I've observed, the only way 3 or more parties work is in a parliamentary system.

In our form of government, the only implementation of additional parties that works is the way the tea party has done it. Look, even libertarians (the Pauls) have joined in. If we had all the progressive leaning parties aligned together within the umbrella of the Democratic Party, weíd be much stronger than we are. What we need to do is stop fighting amongst ourselves, which makes us weak and very vulnerable.

And for Godís sake, letís stop finding agreement with the Neo-Cons on how bad Obama has done! Letís start applauding the successes and progress thatís been made despite the enormous efforts the republicans have made to push the middle class and the country into a deeper hole.

Secondly we have a Fascist Supreme court at the moment, with 5 Fascist Judges who back all the stupidity that the idiot Bush embraced even to claiming that corporations are people, the worst SCROTUS decision since Dred Scott. Even with a favorable congress, Obama couldn't have possibly reversed 8 years of incompetence in 3. Put the blame where it belongs on the Fascist wing of the Republicans.

The entire 2012 election is now on a completely even playing field, because they are all the same.

'Same of the Same' and 'Business as Usual' ...

That is your right to personal opinion, but has no basis in fact ... if you have nothing to back your assertion up with, nor any counter-proof of raising President Obama higher above the level of just another Washington D.C. money-hungry power-mad Chicago politician ...

BUZZZZZZ: Wrong Answer!

There are those who will attempt to throw mud all over the facts, but they cannot ultimately extinguish the truth!

The once muscular and robust Obama presidency has now undergone a dramatic downsizing.

Three polls on Tuesday revealed he is quickly losing core support and even the dwindling Obama die-hards are beginning to question his limited abilities.

Put the blame where it belongs. Theses people who answer these polls are insane. The are putting the bklame in the wrong place. The blame belongs on the Fascist Kochite TEAnutz and thier Republican lackeys, like Boehnor, McConnell and the crop of candidates for president & the 5 Fascist Senile SCROTUS Judges who claim a corporation is a person. This crap started with the senile Alzheimers Reagen, the rather do nothing Bush I, with a reprieve by Clinton, then disaster by the worst president in my life time GW (king George the Loony) Bush. ( my lifetime Starts with Truman)

Trying to reach everyone:

Don't just tell me to vote for Obama ... Convince me why I and others should do so!

We must review ALL of the facts and we must know the whole truth and not just half-truths before making a rational 2012 election decision!

If we go around wearing 'rose colored glasses', then how can we ever make the right choice???

I myself will either vote Third Party or else exercise my right to not vote at all, but I refuse to just vote for Obama because a few Care2 bullies 'try' to force me to!!!

It's my decision too, you know!

Post any and all counter-evidence here or on the main site comment line, in order to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that President Barack Obama deserves another 4 More Years in the highest office of the land.

NO Republicanophobia or Anti-Social Racism!

In the going on conditions og the US, people on Care2 campaigning against Obama can only do by betraying the basic principles of Care2 and persisting in keeping the USA as the most backward country on human rights and on equality, exactly the opposite of the Constitution.

What do you want? Widening the gap between the rich and poor? you have already beaten the world record of the said civilizes western countries with more poor and homeless. What more do you want now? Kill them and give their remains to the rich.

You can only be impostors, suckers, or parasites taking profit of the situation of the poor. No one needs to get political to see that every right wing government destroys all that is for the people, decreases the taxes to the rich and kill the poor. Is this what you are looking for. If it is, your place here at Care2 is like the horse of Troy. You are not on the right place. You are backing anti human rights and should be expelled.

I've skimmed through these 12 months worth of posts. I've observed the bickering as Democrats blame all our woes on Republicans, and Republicans point the finger back at the Democrats. I see that both sides are doing exactly what the true enemies of our nation want them to do. No, Barack Obama has not done what he said he would do, and itís not because the Republicans wouldnít let him. Obama is doing exactly what his bosses are telling him to do. Donít get me wrong, McCain wouldnít have been a nickel better, because he has the same bosses. In the 2012 campaign, for example, Goldman Sachs is the number one contributor to both Obama and Romney. Major financial corporations fund Hillary Clinton, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum. These same obscenely rich international bankers funded Bush Jr. Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Bush Sr., and Ronald Reagan. They provide campaign funds for both Republican and Democrat congressmen and senators alike. They really donít care which horse wins the race, because they own all of the horses. They delight in keeping the people divided into groups. Left v right, black v white, Christian v Muslim, rich v poor, women v men, management v labor, etc.
Iíve not seen one post in here that even remotely touches on the root of our nationís problems. Iíve not witnessed any evidence that anyone in here has taken the time to dig to the bottom of a problem to discover the root cause. Itís too much easier to just listen to the mainstream media and parrot whatever sound bite fits what you want to believe. Itís a lot easier and more satisfying to point and blame than it is to look in a mirror and accept responsibility for our own ignorance.
There absolutely is a massive transfer of wealth from the poor, middle class, and rich to the uber-rich, but the bulk of that transfer is not because of some tax break for the simply rich. The transfer takes place because a very small, select, group of bankers are allowed to create money out of nothing. They then loan this money to us, via our government, at full face value plus interest. These bankers collect trillions of dollars plus interest on something that essentially cost them nothing. Meanwhile the massive influx of new money reduces the value of the money you and I hold. The result of this monetary practice is more and more of the simply rich are becoming middle class, the middle class are becoming poor, and the poor are becoming destitute. Every year we have more and more people completely dependent on government subsidies just to survive. Every year our government becomes more and more dependent on international bankers to finance these subsidies, driving us deeper and deeper in debt. Every year our bought and paid for elected representatives involve us in more and more wars to further and protect the interests of their banker bosses, while driving us trillions deeper in debt. The bankers directly or indirectly own all of the major television networks, news publications, radio networks, major corporations, manufacturing, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, insurance companies, medical schools, Universities, coal supplies, nuclear power plants, Google, Yahoo, corporate farms, oil supplies, and refineries. Over a hundred years of being able to create money out of nothing allows you to acquire just about anything you want, and what these men ultimately want is complete control. The longer we keep squabbling amongst ourselves, blaming one another, and refusing to address the paramount issue, the greater the odds the psychopathic bankers will achieve their ultimate goal.
The original topic was, stop Obama, and thatís fine, but it does no good to stop Obama by replacing him with another puppet. There is only one candidate who has for 30+ years spoken out against the international bankers and their privately owned Federal Reserve System of central banks. There is only one candidate that can carry the GOP, Libertarian Party, Green Party, Constitution Party, Tea Party, and 5-15% of the Democratic Partyís votes, and thatís Ron Paul. Iíd like to think all Americans would support this man if they truly understood whoís been behind the destruction of our once great nation.
Iím not overly religious but I think Proverbs 22:7 is quite applicable to our current dilemma. ďThe rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.Ē
One last important quote.
ďPermit me to issue and control the money of the nation and I care not who makes its laws.Ē ó Mayer Amsched Rothchild, a prominent European banker in the eighteenth century. The Rothchilds are the principle share holders of the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve System is no more federal than Federal Express, itís a for profit private bank run by men hell bent on destroying all nations and setting up a one world government with them in charge.
We can all work together to expose and stop the bankers or we can continue to squabble. The choice is ours.
