There are untold millions of Americans who question President Obama's right to rule and it is mostly based on the grounds of his ineffectiveness and inexperience, but some have gone so far as to innuendo that he doesn't have a clue of what he is doing in Washington D.C.

Please present here fact-based evidence as to whether Obama should be re-elected in 2012 or whether he should not, then help pass this along ... with many thanks!

General opinions are of course welcome here, but we hope to see some viable links too, and I sincerely wonder if anyone will champion President Obama since he has recently lost sooo much critical support for 2012!?

Hey, where's Oprah Winfrey?

President Obama; Did she also distance herself very quickly from your administration as if she found something out???

No...Actually Oprah is sucking up again for Obama!! Another one you can't trust or believe!!!! How long ago it was I heard or read where she was not going to support Obama this next election and she comes out of the bushes now and says she is supporting him!!! Wonder what Obama promised her!?!? She apparently don't believe in lies!!!! Obama is nothing but the biggest liar around! Actually I don't think we need links to what he's lied about because it's been everything he's done since he's been in the White House!!! Remember...he supports the Muslims because he is one!

All the elitists will because if he does not get re-elected his presidency will be viewed as a failure - which it is.

Here are some acompllishments of President Obama.....I share with you today.

Professor Watson writes:

I am always being asked to grade Obama's presidency. In place of offering him a grade, I put together a list of his accomplishments thus far. I think you would agree that it is very impressive. His first six months have been even more active than FDRs or LBJs the two standards for such assessments.
Yet, there is little media attention given to much of what he has done. Of late, the media is focusing almost exclusively on Obama's critics, without holding them responsible for the uncivil, unconstructive tone of their disagreements or without holding the previous administration responsible for getting us in such a deep hole. The misinformation and venom that now passes for political reporting and civic debate is beyond description. As such, there is a need to set the record straight. What most impresses me is the fact that Obama has accomplished so much not from a heavy-handed or top-down approach but from a style that has institutionalized efforts to reach across the aisle, encourage vigorous debate, and utilize town halls and panels of experts in the policy-making process. Beyond the accomplishments, the process is good for democracy and our democratic processes have been battered and bruised in recent years.

Let me know if I missed anything in the list (surely I did).

He is not the leader, just the mouthpiece. His healtcare has been crafted by the insurance companies to their benefit. It's so complex, that no one in Congress or White House really knows what it says.
He's ordered all these studies and reviews which, to date, have accomplished nothing.
His stimulus package didn't accomplish it's purpose, and in fact, added to the uncertainty of America's ability to pay it's bills. (Higher taxes anyone?)
The kids are still not home yet and we are paying out trillions to keep them there, to Haliburton's benefit, and when they do get home, are not being properly treated for work related conditions, e.g. PTSD and TBI.
We are paying illegals to come in and take our tax money. We spend billions on Homeland Security and all that has accomplished is for citizens to slowly have our rights eroded away.
No, he is NOT a leader and deserves to be fired rather than not elected. We should fire the entire group of goofballs in Congress and elect Americans, not democrats or republicans.

*** TO THE READER ***

We must review ALL of the facts and we must know the whole truth and not just half-truths before making a rational 2012 election decision!

If we go around wearing 'rose colored glasses', then how can we ever make the right choice???

I myself will either vote Third Party or else exercise my right to not vote at all, but I refuse to just vote for Obama because a few Care2 bullies 'try' to force me to!!!

It my decision too, you know!

Horrible environmental and spending record. He and wife arrogant and travelling extensively on our dome with huge staff. He won't stay in DC and do his job, instead he travels and campaigns non stop. He is costing us billions in his expenses. He talks one game and acts another, He is tremndously partisan.

there's more but these are a few reasons why he will not have our vote in 2012. Made the mistake once and got burned -shame on him! Make the mistake again? shame on us all.

"I myself will either vote Third Party or else exercise my right to not vote at all, but I refuse to just vote for Obama because a few Care2 bullies 'try' to force me to!!!"

By all means do, Mindy! It's your right, and I'm absolutely certain that you won't find a single "Care2 bully" forcing your hand at your polling place. And if you do, PLEASE contact the proper authorities!

A green star to Nick for the great synopsis of Obama's accomplishments --in spite of the mess he inherited from the worst president in history and the resistance he's subjected to on a daily basis.! In addition to all the accomplishments outlined in Nick's list, here are just a few reasons why I WILL be voting for President Obama:

1. Rick Perry
2. Michele Bachmann
3. Mitt Romney
4. Rick Santorum
5. Jon Huntsman
6. Newt Gingrich
7. Herman Cain
8. And any other potential contender of questionable intelligence who brings with them a side-show of free-loading religious entertainers, anyone related to the Tea Party and/or any millionaires, billionaires or large corporations which have already caused so much damage and divisiveness in this country.

I respect your right to your opinion, Mindy. But please don't lead anyone to believe that you're being bullied into casting your vote for any specific candidate. Opinions are expressed in this forum. Your choice is your own.

For those who gave me good words, thanks. If Obama had congress behind him and not trying to defete him in everyway, the US would be in much better shape. But, republicans fillabuster everything, put a block up to stop any progress, and still offer no solutions themselves. They preached JOBS, but all they have done is give Corporations freedome to ship jobs overseas, and keep their welfare.......even though it's destroying the US. Remember, repubs have said many times (on TV, etc) they their sole purpose is to destroy Obama at ANY COSTS, even if it is the destruction of the US. Bush certainly brought us to the cliff, they are just trying to push US over, all for their own power and greed. It's time they (repubs) STOP this and GET TO WORK for the American people, the 98% of US.

Here are 3 quotes I send with my email that were true when written, and true today. Nick

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have little. Franklin D. Roosevelt

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing"... Einstein

Nick, that sure is an impressive list there buddy, but please explain to us (or anyone else may champion an answer) as to why Obama has waited 2 1/2 years to pen a jobs legislation bill (American Jobs Act) and why he has further and still is pressing for more stimulus funding (aka: American Jobs Act) ...

When his administration was warned back in early 2009 to produce 2+ million new jobs beginning NLT late 2009 ... and after Obama had promised to do all this back in Campaign 2008 by rebuilding America's infrastructure with green alternative technologies and using the tried-and-true FDR state-to-state voluntary reconstruction work programs.

The only reason that I refrain from attacking the American Jobs Act at the moment, is due to watching the televised dramatic 'speech' where Obama says 15 times "PASS IT NOW!" "PASS IT NOW!!" "PASS IT NOW!!!" ... etc. and then says I will tell you in two weeks how we will pay for it in televised(?) in Part 2 ZZZZ ZZZ ZZZZ...

After 20 days earlier unveiling the anticipated jobs program and then returning for a 10+ day continuation of his extravagant and posh Martha's Vineyard vacation ... While we wait to begin starving and losing our homes and other personal property ... Which most is being U.S. Government confiscated by the way!?!?!????

Can you stop for just a minute and see it from our concerned point of view, then answer with a rational explanation.

Thank You!!!

P.S.; Also for the record Nick, I have been in personal contact with Professor Watson PhD. and he as of 2010 has told me that he was re-evaluating his 'Obama's Contributions List' and Watson was not so sure as to whether he was overestimating Obama's actual presidential worth.

Nothing else has been release or sent since I received this information, so I or you cannot completely uphold that list in regard to current implications.

Professor Watson was becoming concerned in late 2009 as I was and many others too.

It is so sad to see members insult each other anywhere on this site. We are free to speak and free to choose. There is no need to insult those who have opposing views. I saw this all play out last election on this site, and it is starting all over again. This is why I am a recovering ex-Democrat, and I am so grateful to have awakened from the two-party conflict of power. I see the same folks insulting others over and over. "Agree to Disagree" and find some common thread to unite. Leave the insults towards members at the door, please. We are ALL in this together.

I should never write before morning coffee, but thanks for the star given to my foggy headed effort, which I've edited below, so as to make it readable.

"Very impressive list Nick. A long list of accomplishments researched and published by the Dr., for all to see, yet, almost completely ignored by the media.

Watch now as Obama haters like Mindy attempt to follow suit and ignore it again right here, as if you had not placed right under their noses."

The response has now adapted...(very good Mindy)... from ignoring to acknowledging but only vaguely...while addressing no particulates, but claiming its author (Dr.) has changed his mind, and by this unsubstantiated claim alone, Mindy hopes to discredit the list.

I must tell you Mindy, that when you make a claim to have corresponded with the Dr., and claim that in personal correspondence between you, he has retracted some or anything from his published list... the burden of proof is on you. It is not our job to disprove something for which you have given NO evidence.

Show us his statement/letter to you...
I might then consider sending that to him for verification of its authenticity.

Moving on...you seem to want to right away move to other topics, such as why no bill. He had made it clear he wanted Senators and Congresspeople to write the bills. That is their job. Since they have refused, he has now written one for them to vote on. You barely ask the question before reverting to the Mindy we all know, with the "Vacation" crap. And it is crap.

You repeat Fox talking point slams, over and over even here where you are trying to salvage some credibility...you just can't resist using the training you have received. Hit Obama on the Vacation, repeat, repeat, repeat. No matter what is said showing how comparatively few vacation days he has had....repeat the lie. You can't help yourself. Even when you are found out and try to adapt, your training and agenda shows.

"What Obama Lied About to Get Elected" (Watch the video)
http://urbangrounds.com/2009/08/obama-lies-3/

President Barack Obama’s auto industry policy promises to heighten the influence of lobbyists and to open the door to ethical transgressions and even outright corruption. By naming as car czar a financier who is also a Democratic fundraiser steeped in cozy business-government relationships, and by replacing the traditional bankruptcy procedures with the will of politicians, Obama has injected Detroit with all the elements of crony capitalism.

A Campaign Promise Dies: Obama and Military Commissions
http://www.alternet.org/story/145958/a_campaign_promise_dies%3A_obama_and_military_commissions

In fact ALL of Obama's appointees are former Bush appointees, PNAC members, lobbyists and other Right-Wing operatives. All of our safety and regulatory agencies are oriented toward the giant multinational corporations and their profits, NOT the needs or safety of the people. He has added to Executive Orders giving him unconstitutional powers, claimed even more power to assassinate American citizens anywhere in the world for SUSPECTED involvement with terrorism, widened the definitions of "homegrown terrorism" so that almost anything, including criticizing government policy, dissent or protest qualify, increased spying on citizens and infiltration and setting up of dissenting groups to be arrested for protected First Amendment activities. Whistleblowers are being viciously attacked, more so than by any other president, ever, and in at least one case using the espionage Act. Drone attacks and invasions by assassinations teams within the borders of sovereign countries have increased under Obama. He says he is "working under the radar" on gun control.

About his record on gun ownership and the right to self-defense: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk9GwXJNM2c

The man talks out of both sides of his mouth, and ignores the electorate, as does the rest of the government except for around election times, but Obama's idea of not ignoring us is to lie to us. Remember too, how this self-proclaimed Constitutional expert tried to institute a "mandatory volunteerism" program for ALL Americans: forced labor, aka "slavery." He backs down against corporations every time, notably BP and its continued spraying of the deadly Corexit into the Gulf, poisoning countless people by spraying as far as miles inland over residential areas. his FAD appointee says to smell any seafood, and if it doesn't smell like oil, it's dfase to eat (researchers found such fish and shrimp to have oil/corexit in their guts).

Unlike Bush, Obama is intelligent, urbane and well-spoken. Worse than Bush, Obama is as anti-American and as completely owned by the corporations and under the control of the 'elites' as any Manchurian candidate could possibly be.

Until such time as we can change the election process with real Election Finance Reform, which will require cleaning house on the Supreme Court to overturn Citizens United, getting a sufficient number in congress elected that would support said reforms, get the voters educated to understand they have to vote with their brains and not their emotions (most often spurred by fear mongering and corporate sponsored propaganda promoting their agenda, not the peoples) things are never going to be different in DC. And to accomplish any of the above we would first need to restore a free press. And how does any of the above get completed short of a full on revolution? I sure don’t know.

I hear people say they’re waiting for Obama to more like FDR and get something done. Those, that is, who are not calling him a Communist for doing to much, But no one seems to recognize FDR had a cooperative congress and a logical Supreme Court. Not ones strewn with TeaParty type terrorist who dutifully consumed the whole pitcher of Kool-Aid, after depositing their contributions from the Oligarchy into their Swiss Bank Accounts. And even more importantly; we need to find a way to un-track the Harvard Degree types who are conditioned to believe they’re smarter then anyone else. Smarter because mommy and daddy bought them a degree which defines the rest of us “little people” as infinitely too stupid to know what’s best for ourselves, the process of our government, the sleaze bag bankster Federal Reserve controlled economy and the propping up of the world order with their hand picked dictators. And then again; who can say their wrong given the jerk offs elected by the people to busy being herded consumers to be informed citizens.

Thanks Hawkeye. When you have the likes of Karl Rove (swiftboating fame) and others make up things with pleanty of money from corporations (in secret), no wonder there isn't more films or lies on things. That's what they are doing. Making so many false claims or mis-information, then demos try tp put out these fires all over the place. When faced with facts, they either yell louder which in their mind makes them "more right" or change the subject. I have found it interesting to watch, but it does get sick after a time. Especially when you consider it is leading to the destruction of our country. Points of view are great, which has made our republica grow over the years, until say the last 13 years ago. Then, civil dicorde has been the way of political life.

And what upsets me even more than the tea baggers (which are just repubs), is those that claim to be christian. Like Jesus would ever vote for a republcan or their viewpoints.

If these same people would read how Hitler and other facists dictators took control of their countries, they would see so many things in common with what is happening today. Scary for sure.

Again I say, that no matter what Obama does, they will speak negitive and bad about him. Cause the plain truth is they hate that a black man is in office, and they will do anything in the power to make sure he leaves after this term.............even if it means the destruction of our country. As Walt Cronkite used to say, "AND THAT'S THE WAY IT IS."

The man could find a cure for cancer and the right wing nuts would scream "what about diabetes"? He is different and they hate him, that's all there is to it. From the birther issues to his supposed secret Muslim roots, the depravity knows no bounds. It's shameful the way circus never ends.

Obama is probably the best president that America has had for decades. It is a pity that his father is from Kenya, as that has stirred up such opposition that he has been really hamstrung.
Vote for him and vote all those republicans out! Then you will see how he can get America to recover.
He will also foster a change to clean energy - and that would be good.

The regressive Republican Party of No is obstructionist, mean-spirited, thuggish, religiously fanatical, scientifically ignorant, corrupt, hypocritical, xenophobic, racist, sexist, homophobic, evolution and global warming denying, oily, anti-environment, anti-consumer, anti-choice, anti-education, union busting, Medicare and Social Security slashing, authoritarian, selfish, greedy, out-of-touch, lacking compassion, warmongering, and otherwise dangerous.

NEVER vote for Republicans.

Realistically, the president's reelection is a given. The most important thing we should be concentrating on for 2012 is defeating as many Republican politicians as possible. That is how we take back the country!

Ian,
I share some of your concern regarding Obama. Sometimes I am so mad I can't see straight, and then when calmer (a survival mechanism) I consider what moves I may make to change things. What are my choices on the board...
If your goal is to help defeat Obama by your efforts here, may I ask...what do you suggest as a VIABLE alternative, given 1, the voting record of this nation(inclination to be fearful of anything "left"), and 2, the result of a lose this time around to the Rebagger party, if enough votes are siphoned away by efforts like Mindy's phony pitch for the Green Party, which is an obvious sneering reminder of how Nader, while not coming close to winning....did have an effect.

Both good effects and bad effects are none the less... effects. Sorry for the run on sentence.

And YES, I agree wholeheartedly Terry, and I celebrate what I think is the fact of his re election in the same way I attempt to celebrate each day alive, even though each day much like the one before it, is colored darkly if not completely full, of pain. I know others can relate to my metaphor. I believe that I could spend every waking hour of my days, informing others of Obama failings, (and as you point out rightly, there are plenty) and I could work toward a Green party victory within the same effort...and would only achieve the goal sought by Mindy and her ilk when they suggest we all vote Green... A Rebagger in the White house. Dog help me if I'm wrong, but that is my often and much considered opinion on this.

"The most important thing we should be concentrating on for 2012 is defeating as many Republican politicians as possible. That is how we take back the country! "

Yes. Abso-f-ing-lutely.

obama is unfit for office. he can't do the job. the only thing he's good at is campaigning. he's been non-stop at that. obama and michelle think they are the king and queen and travel with more people than the real queen does. he needs to step aside and let somebody that can do the job get it done. he's never even held a job but think he can create them by bankrupting the country. get him out of office.

"the plain truth is they hate that a black man is in office, and they will do anything in the power to make sure he leaves after this term.............even if it means the destruction of our country."
First things first - Nick, if you were a little bit younger you ought to have your mouth washed out with soap. I resent the hell out of being called a bigot, and next time you'd damned well better have some sort of proof to offer besides your opinion. I would have rejoiced that my country had finally started to grow up a little bit, and in fact I did a bit - but that was offset as soon as I saw Obama's appointees - all RadRight destroyers.

Robert, I'm exhausted - physically, intellectually, about every way there is. I don't have any solutions, but Obama back in office would be just as bad as a Tea Party candidate or any Republican. Are you familiar with the "Good cop, bad cop" routine in questioning a prisoner? Apply it to both houses of Congress. When the Democrats had all the numbers they needed to do what they wanted, they found every excuse they could not be able to do anything. It's all the same side, or if Obama isn't part of it, he's so incompetent he may as well be. If people vote for Obama because he's all there is that isn't Republican and they're afraid the "waste a vote," then maybe it's time to work really, really hard to find a candidate that ISN'T a wasted vote and can actually do the job. That's the only thing I can think of, because with Obama back in office after this election is the end of America. So is a Republican.

The thing I find amazing, is that when PinkMindy, others and I, express ANY discomfort about Obama's Presidency, you call us "haters," but when you attack anyone other than liberals, you consider that reasonable. This is the amazing double standard we have come to expect as typical. Bruce, you said it best ~ a green star to you.

@Nick ~ Shame on you for suggesting that I am a racist because I don't share your abiding love for Obama. The race card was overplayed years ago, and it's time for a more creative accusation. Obama is bi-racial everyone ~ so get it right. There are many African-Americans who are just as digusted, in case some haven't been paying attention. Do you accuse them of being racist because Obama is half-white?

Too soon to star PinkMindy and many others here whose comments were logical.

Here's an idea: check out the YouTube 11 part series on MKULTRA. At least one victim of the trauma-based conditioning mind control techniques says that - well, just go and listen. The part about our elections is I believe the 5th or 6th in the series - a woman.

express ANY discomfort ? Thats a funny way to describe what we see hear coming from Mindy and her ilk generally. Slander and slurs are her stock and trade, not rational expressions of concern or as you say....discomfort.

I will not be calling Ian a right wing anything, but do observe the comfort they take from his words, whether he intends giving comfort to them or not. He does. So be it. Free country.

I've been called worse, Andy. And anyone so foolish as to turn away from checking something so obvious out because others think it's crazy isn't worth worrying about. All you have to do is look at what our "rulers" are doing and you can see the techniques being applied.

Marilynn - Glad to hear you got a good chuckle out of it! These days that's a worthwhile gift!

Here's a copy of comments of mine on one of those YouTube videos:

People say there is no such real Evil.As free-floating independent selfdom, perhaps not. It's a description, both of actions and actors. The actors who are now directing planetary politics seem to share this description, though, and it may as well be something like Jung's "collective unconscious." Creatures like Cheney and Rumsfeld are almost archetypes - sociopaths, totally without conscience. They are a disease of the race that MUST be destroyed, not just stopped, before we can move forward.

As humanity has grown, most of see our commonalities. Most are generous ti needy strangers, gentle with animals and those weaker than they, given the chance.Without this disease stirring the pot, mixing in fear, hatred, poverty and pain, how far could we not go together?Instead we're starting at every sound, ducking a blow we always expect. We MUST WAKE UP! And we must fight back. NOW.

Those are necessarily circumscribed by the limited length allowed, but they say what I wanted. There are depths to humans that most of us don't suspect - and connections, both internal and external. We CAN fight this, but it requires seeing the need to first. So that, at least, gives us something to work on.

shouldn't accomplishments be in implementing change rather than signing something?

Ian MacLeod (79)
Sunday September 11, 2011, 12:57 pm
Signing something can be a beginning, at least. In the case of the President, singing things is much of what he does, and it has caused what may be irreparable damage to this country. He said he rejected making law with E.Os and signing statements such as Bush used when he was running for office last time, and like every other statement like that he instantly went back on it after gaining the office. He clearly regards "election year promises" as nonbinding. For the rest of us, signing petitions at least shows a recognition of a need - it just doesn't accomplish anything when it's directed toward the government, and many petitions are for desperately needed change that needs more direct efforts.

Thanks Robert for the above links, good info worthy of the read. Oh and hay, about that apology for the run-on sentences. As the Jedi Master of run-on’s, waaa’s the problem? It’s the applied effort of thinking it trough that counts. An increasingly rare thing these days, thinking I mean. a.k.a . Something other then simple propaganda laden knee jerk reacting.

So let's pretend I'm new at politics. I have a couple questions and I would like, well formed, intelligent responses.
1. Why did Obama cut military pay?
2. How many times has Obama come to show his troops support?
3. Why would I ever want to re-elect a man who can't show his support when the flag is unfolded or passing by? (Hands crossed in front of your crotch doesn't exactly shout "I'M A PATRIOT")
4. Why would the military support a man who never served? (We've had twelve thus far. http://socyberty.com/history/12-us-presidents-who-did-not-serve-in-uniform/ )
5. Why is serving your country over seas worth the same as the national average minimum wage? ($7.75)

We'll leave it at that to start.
