The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is staging over the course of the coming year, 100 hiring job fairs promoting employment for U.S. veterans and the only measure of success being jobs for the one million unemployed American veterans. Please pass this along!!

Please help share this with the public, because there are so many Americans that have absolutely no idea that this program even exists.

There are veterans who will be hearing about this for the very first time and it's on Facebook too, so go there and click-on the 'Like' icon button and share that as well (if you have a FB account).

Thank You!!

The first and most difficult thing we must do is to admit to ourselves, that there are in reality 1 million unemployed veterans living in America, which are apart of our U.S. family!!!

Britain and the USA are awful for allowing their veterans to re-enter society without housing and jobs. It is shameful. I hope this helps!

There is one classic role into which veterans used to slide very easily: Disaster-planning.

One part of vets' problems in rejoining the workforce is that they're used to positions of enormous importance and responsibility: Whether they had the functioning of multimillion-dollar planes or nuclear subs dependent on their care, had the lives of villagers depending upon their protection, or had the war-effort depend upon their shipment of food, fuel, and ammo to the front, the department-store middle-management doesn't feel quite so impressive anymore. Seriously, who would call going from tank-repair to car-repair career-advancement?

The U.S. used to actually have a service called "Civil Defense" in which veterans would plan for and handle any sort of disaster. It was abandoned because it meant having ex-military personnel in position to take over all affairs of the country, and it was feared that would scare the USSR into escalation. There is no longer any need to avoid letting responsible experts in logistics who know exactly what it takes to keep a person alive and sane, people who understand search-and-rescue operations, and those who know how to fix situations under very adverse conditions from using their expertise.

I remember when my brother came home from Vietnam. Not only was he spit upon, but he had to go begging for jobs

Toni..That is terrible! Our Viet Nam Vets were treated with such disrespect it should make any American ashamed! We need to take care of those who have taken care of us and our freedoms! Great article Pink! Thanks!

IF our poltician would worry about creating jobs rather than go on debt and such, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. The president gave his Jobs bill out, now it's time to act. Call you represenatives and have the pass the presidents Jobs bill.

And concidering that republicans came into office saying they were going to create jobs, all they have been doing is losing them. It's about time they get on the band wagon AND DO SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR ALL AMERICANS. I'm sick of all their BS. (as you can tell, I"m pissed off)

I find nothing heroic about twisting Afghans into the American or Canadian ideal. Leave there now and you might be hero's.

Along with Vets, all of the 14 million out of work should have jobs offered to them. With the CONS in control of Congress, don't expect any miracles. The only job they are interested in is Obama's.

Our Vets Heroes have been treated like football players in the field too long while the coach gets the credit. Vets gave us our freedom we have today. Honor and respect them. They are HUMANS too. I always thank a vet when I see one as well as those in service and that God will bless them.
