Vice-President Biden is making news by addressing all American voters and clearly stating that it is time to stop blaming George W. Bush Jr. and to start blaming the Obama Administration for our current economic situations, successes and failures.

There are always two sides to every coin, so let's not keep looking at just one of the sides and completely ignoring the other and don't allow some of the hardcore Democrats & Liberals to continue telling us what, when, where and how we should think.

Become free-thinking Americans once again and be sure to express your thoughts publicly!!

No Fear.

What he is saying is that it's not 'relvant...meaning that regardless of why we are where we are in this mess left by Dubya, it's time for the GOP/TeaBaggers to stop bucking/stalling and or completely stopping progress and get on with the recovery of things caused by those in the past .

Just another TeaBagger tabloid type twisting of words in order to have a sensational title for the article...which the teabaggers will not read but just start commenting on the title as usual....Another Pink TeaBagger attention title getter...nothing more...nothing less, in my opinion.

ROFLMAO...sure he does Pink..sure he does...and he'll deal with it unlike Dubya and that other GOP clown, Reagan. But we all know who and why we started the Obama administration so far in debt with big business too big to fail to the tune of a huge bail out....all on the table prior to Obama. At least he's giving it a shot against all odds...primarily from the GOP and their no saying to anything remotely beneficial to the people and our society as a whole, much less about the debt the Dubya years put in place and who knew it would snow ball once they were out of D.C. etc. However, that aside, it is time they told the 'far rightcrazywinger' to F off and get on with the recovery without them ..'if at all possible' at this point in time. Not an easy task in less than three years much less in EIGHT YEARS which is how much time it took Cheney/Bush Jr. and their buds to send us this deep into a economic and job crisis as they did. ON that I agree...time to move forward ...if possible...against the odds that the GOP and their insaniTEA bagger buds continue to do all they can to keep it from hapening. Dubya never took 'responsibility for anything' other than his great 'Mission Accomplished ' speech which it was...for his
corporate bosses that is. Now Biden says it time to take what they made and refused to take responsibility for and clean as much of it up as fast as possible and that will take public backing...not more campagining for TeaBaggers/GOP election positions. End that and the White House can do a lot in the next year as well as the next four after that....regardless of who is in the White House..which for the next five it's looking more and more like it will be Obama. Stop the obstructionist,TeaBaggers/Extreme GOP Right etc... and the nation will move forward..it's that simple to begin... what will take a lot more time now that the White House was stalled for the last three years , even with all his comprimising...or just keep bashing away at Obama instead of trying to do something for the nation, not just a TeaBagger/GOP re-election focus for a change.

PinkMindy Ellinwood (567)
Saturday October 1, 2011, 5:48 am

How much 'change' and 'hope' must we endure before we realize that President Obama's perpetual grid-lock is going absolutely nowhere???

The president's fundraising difficulties speak volumes in regard to his current problematic relationship with the critical U.S. financial community.

I did forget to add...that it appeared to me that this post was another one posted for bashing Obama more,which it no doubt was, but instead it turns out to be one of a positive for Obama/Biden. . .even if not the intention of the writer or the poster of it..in that they [WHiteHouse] are more than willing to try and forget/dismiss the huge errors of the failed past admistration with hopes of progress forcoming instead of continuing accepting the stalling GOP/TeaBaggers of things in Congress and Obamas comprimises of the first three years...all to no avail...ofcourse. Obama even refused to start an investigation into the war crimes of Dubya and Cheney. Even so, it is time to move on with or without the help of the GOP and their failed side-kicks the TeaBaggers.

As for the corporate fund raising, they don't give to those that they don't feel they can totally control ...in that light, it's a good sigh. Thanks for pointing that out about Obama, Pink. Apparently they don't feel he has given them the 100percent of what they wanted and that the GOP promised that they'd see to it that he'd deliver, after all.

Well, yea, that makes sense ONLY TO A TEA PARTIER!!!!

Lets see... Bill Cllinton left off and there was a budget SURPLUS. Bush started a war spending 13 trillion dollars in a war... a war we havent won, incidently. Along with spending 13 trillion dollars, he sealed the spiraling defict by empting the income tax revenue from the rich.

Seems to me, Bush CLEARLY conspired to overthrow the United States govenment and collapse it.

Was it TEXAS that wants to succession? Sure was!

I have an idea to fix the economy. Put every state OUT of the union except the original 13 colonies. This isnt even Democat or Republican anymore-

Only Nazi's and their proaganda continiously attempting to undermine the United States and the more I hear and see the more I FIRMLY stand behind Obama, so so does everyone else that I know.

Let the blame rest squarely where it best suits reality and not viewed through rose-colored glasses ...

In the here and now and not on so many years ago, therefore look more closely into what President Obama has been doing to create permanent (not temporary stimulus-ending jobs) U.S. employment for the past 2 years and 8 months.

So now in the eleventh hour, because Campaign 2012 lies dead ahead, then Obama rises to the occasion, in order to 'Look Good' to the American voters ...

While fully knowing all along, that the Republicans and Democrats will never agree to pen (with Obama's signature also) a lasting and comprehensive solution to American unemployment!!

Sad but true.

Ok Pink....you obviously aren't talking about the TeaBaggers as they don't think period...just sheeple from the get go doing the corporates bidding for them etc. So what is it you are saying as to 'care2' dictators ?. Bold statement with no details as usual but how about more explination as to what that comment is about...? Everyone is free to post their thoughts or lack of either one, on any and all of the threads ,so I for one am not seeing your point there...or is it just another opened ended tabloid type 'fishing' sound bite like so many of your 'comments' lately ?

I was thinking the same John from day one of the last election process from the time Biden entered the running.

I wish the "tea partiers or tea baggers" had half the power the libs think they do. Just think what could be accomplished! I have never heard so much vile hatred in my life. As far as I know, the tea party crowd doesn't hate Obama. They want to see something positive happen with our jobs outlook and the economy.

Jae A. (323)
Saturday October 1, 2011, 7:33 am
Marian..anger does not equate to hate...that's just your opinion of course.
Anyone who wishes the Tea baggers had more power..or 'half' of that some might think they still do, to me are not thinking clearly..but that is as yours, an opinion of course. TeaBaggers no longer hold power, they are 'toast' as the ol saying goes, as are their talking heads and political hacks in office etc. They are in fact now the most 'hated' ,to use your word and that of pollsters,group in America today. What is happening on Wall Street currently is how to change things,with or without the GOP.

I'm personally just happy that Biden is taking a stand now and that the corporates aren't throwing money at the Obama re-election campaign...two great signs that improvement in the future is a possible within the Obama administration...here again, with or without the cooperation of those on the GOP Corporate side of things.

I think this has more to do with Biden opening his mouth and sticking his foot in it, but it's great to see a lively debate. And Nyack, I thought that myth was debunked long ago. Clinton left a projected surplus that never materialized (sort of like my winning lottery ticket).

I'm so disappointed in the USA for forgetting how Bush had to cope with very unusual and special new circumstances. AND I agree, it's time to stop blaming Bush for the economic crisis and get on with doing what needs to be done NOW.

I heard Gingrich speak today about how he thinks the threat to Obama's presidency may not come from the Republicans but from the Left Wing of the Democrats. Well, well...I'm sure many think this is a strong possibility.

Jay & Nyack..........haven't you learned by now that tearepubs don't want to hear the truth, they are color blind. Or put in another way, they use "selective" truth.........but not the whole truth. You might as well talk to a brick, causes that's about all there is.

These are the same people who don't believe our President was born in the US, and even with proof, they still don't. We are talking about 25% of people (in polls). So, if Fox, Rush, etc say the moon is made of green cheese, they will believe it. But, if you use science and real facts, they will NEVER see or hear it. And that is the problem.

Nyack, you said it, that anyone who claims to put "both" sides on, but only actually puts one, then it's called propaganda. I agree that there are always different points of view, which is good. But, YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THE DIFFERENT POINTS OF VIEW TO BE EDUCATED. If you only use faulty facts or mis-information, then the results will reflect this. Remember, GIGO (garbage in, garbage out).

Also, not you can see that over 95% of ALL MEDIA is controlled by the right wing. So, what else can you excpet from this? Distortions at the very least, but at it's worst lies and misinformation. I just hope that more people OPEN THEIR EYES & EARS and learn.

I see Jae, so now all of the papers and magazines that report what the VP said are all "teabagger tabloids" too, because of how you feel their titles are worded? Our country needs JOBS. All this nonesense on the debt (it was never approached under republians) is just smoke screens to the real problem, JOBS. The President has put forth a JOBS PROPOSAL and that is what need to be done NOW. Let's see if the republcians truly care about the average American and PASS THIS BILL. Obama can only suggest, but it's up to the republican controlled congress to make a law. When are they going to start? That's my question. We know the answer cause Obama put it out there.

So, after 40 or more years, I think it's time the republicans ACTUALLY put forth a law that helps the average citizen rather than just the very rich. What do you think? That's my opinion and that of millions of other Ameircans. WE WANT JOBS NOW.

noted. The problem with this country goes back further than Bush and I believe most people know this. I feel as if I blinked and the country went to hell in a handbasket. Whatever your political views, understand one thing. It usually takes more than ONE man to create the mess that we're in. Obama knows his days are numbered and I will say the only thing I can say in his defense. Democratic president...Republican congress. It doesn't fly and never will until people in power work together to help rebuild our country and put their personal agendas aside. As for Biden ciiting his opinion? Whether we agree or not, he has a right to do so. Last, this is an open forum and people have a right too to express opinions without being bashed. We have enough people bashing us already. PEACE!!

Ok yes Bush put our country into extreme debt, but all I see Obama doing is putting us into EVEN MORE debt. And a lot of the debt Bush got us into was from the war. But can you imagine how mad a lot of Americans would have been if we DIDN"T go to war? Most Americans back then WANTED us to go to war. It was obviously the wrong decision but has Obama ended it? Nope. So who is to blame right now??

"If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich." JFK
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As an independent "Thinker" who has been accused of being a bleeding heart democrat, conservative on certain issues, I plead guilty! If America is to rid herself of the mind boggling hurdles before her she must find common ground, one with another.
I come from a die hard union building family that I have great respect for. They cared for the least of these and paid the price that goes with that commitment. There was a time some of the party of no and bitter tasting tea had a heart even though they leaned mostly towards the business industry.
There was a time when Democrats fought like democrats, not the party of "I'm not sure or, where's my taste of the pie." Both parties have failed this union! Gr$$d has many masters. Jefferson, a Democrat, would say as much.
America, though some choose to forget, was built by immigrants that came from all parts of the planet but now power brokers, unless they get to use cheap labor no matter where this labor lives, china, etc., ostracize those who are here illegally. Now before you get your powder up Pink I too believe that we should put in place checks and balances for all who wish to migrate to the United States. But the hate & mean spirit that has risen out of this issue alone is not only counter productive. It's actually savage and hypocritical! Certain players from both party's, especially since downgrading Unions, have and continue to exploit workers.
"We" have so many dire issues facing America it's enough to make one want to go underground and have with it. But some of US appreciate Thomas Jefferson who believed in the ideal of "We". Jefferson believed that all Americans needed to feel useful and whole and, could govern themselves as long as they had the knowledge and were educated on the issues.
America has been hoodwinked by the very business industry that was around, though more humbly in it's power, during the Jefferson era. Even back then Jefferson feared this group and so "We" have the Democratic party. A two party system rather then one. Also at that time many framers of the constitution, including Jefferson, feared that giving any of the three branches of government unbridled power would be fool hardy.
The thought, even back then, was that the Supreme Court should only serve 8 years, not a lifetime. Too bad this did not manifest itself because "We" would be better off today had these justices been held to a higher power then themselves.
Pink while you and others bash and call what you do free thinking claiming others will not allow you your power, you are, by your action and words, doing the same thing. There's much more to this story then any one President, Bush, Clinton, Obama, etc., It's about US! "We" the people! Who are We? What do "We" really stand for? Do "We" even know?
The media and power brokers understand the game of divide and conquer! But do We? American's, for once in their divided, egocentric lives, need to band together; find common ground but, what are "We" doing?
Exactly what pernicious adversaries, those who would "Dare" undermine the welfare of this nations entire population would have US do! Divide our strengths! Become complicit in destroying OUR dreams and the dreams of future generations. It's time that "We" not look at ourselves as Diehard Democrats, nor Republicans, but as Americans! I was not born a party person. Were you?
I remember and understand better today as someone whose been around the block several times what JFK meant when he said "Ask not at what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VB6hLg3PRbY&feature=player_embedded
President John F Kennedy Secret Society Speech version 2
The speech that got JFK killed
"Listen to this incredible audio recording of a speech made by JFK before the American Newspaper Publishers Association where he warns the press about the "secret societies" that are the real power in global affairs." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhZk8ronces&feature=related
Did "We" heed Eisenhower's warning about the military complex!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"President John F. Kennedy's inaugural address, January 20th 1961.

Vice President Johnson, Mr. Speaker, Mr. Chief Justice, President Eisenhower, Vice President Nixon, President Truman, reverend clergy, fellow citizens, we observe today not a victory of party, but a celebration of freedom — symbolising an end, as well as a beginning — signifying renewal, as well as change. For I have sworn before you and Almighty God the same solemn oath our forebears prescribed nearly a century and three quarters ago.

The world is very different now. For man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life. And yet the same revolutionary beliefs for which our forebears fought are still at issue around the globe — the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God.

We dare not forget today that we are the heirs of that first revolution. Let the word go forth from this time and place, to friend and foe alike, that the torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans — born in this century, tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage — and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Nation has always been committed, and to which we are committed today at home and around the world.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty.

This much we pledge and more.
To those old allies whose cultural and spiritual origins we share, we pledge the loyalty of faithful friends. United, there is little we cannot do in a host of cooperative ventures. Divided, there is little we can do — for we dare not meet a powerful challenge at odds and split asunder.
To those new States whom we welcome to the ranks of the free, we pledge our word that one form of colonial control shall not have passed away merely to be replaced by a far more iron tyranny. We shall not always expect to find them supporting our view. But we shall always hope to find them strongly supporting their own freedom — and to remember that, in the past, those who foolishly sought power by riding the back of the tiger ended up inside.

To those peoples in the huts and villages across the globe struggling to break the bonds of mass misery, we pledge our best efforts to help them help themselves, for whatever period is required — not because the Communists may be doing it, not because we seek their votes, but because it is right. If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.

To our sister republics south of our border, we offer a special pledge — to convert our good words into good deeds — in a new alliance for progress — to assist free men and free governments in casting off the chains of poverty. But this peaceful revolution of hope cannot become the prey of hostile powers. Let all our neighbours know that we shall join with them to oppose aggression or subversion anywhere in the Americas. And let every other power know that this Hemisphere intends to remain the master of its own house.

To that world assembly of sovereign states, the United Nations, our last best hope in an age where the instruments of war have far outpaced the instruments of peace, we renew our pledge of support — to prevent it from becoming merely a forum for invective — to strengthen its shield of the new and the weak — and to enlarge the area in which its writ may run.

Finally, to those nations who would make themselves our adversary, we offer not a pledge but a request: that both sides begin anew the quest for peace, before the dark powers of destruction unleashed by science engulf all humanity in planned or accidental self-destruction.
We dare not tempt them with weakness. For only when our arms are sufficient beyond doubt can we be certain beyond doubt that they will never be employed.

But neither can two great and powerful groups of nations take comfort from our present course — both sides overburdened by the cost of modern weapons, both rightly alarmed by the steady spread of the deadly atom, yet both racing to alter that uncertain balance of terror that stays the hand of mankind's final war.

(So let us begin anew — remembering on both sides that civility is not a sign of weakness, and sincerity is always subject to proof. Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate. Let both sides explore what problems unite us instead of belabouring those problems which divide us. Let both sides, for the first time, formulate serious and precise proposals for the inspection and control of arms — and bring the absolute power to destroy other nations under the absolute control of all nations.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE0iPY7XGBo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As Americans who wish to embrace and partake in what is good about this American held dream which embraces a better life for all who are willing to work towards it, is it not time to "WORK" together & rid ourselves of that which is usurping and bleeding this nation's "Brave Hearts" dry? Divided, "We" will surely fall!
Nyack, I can understand your feelings. If people would take time to see how Hitler took over and turned Germany into a facists country, they would discover how it is being done here in the US.
Let's blame the Jews..........opps, that was taken, then how about the "gays" & "lesibans", yes, they are the ones who are trying to destroy the US. Or how about those damm liberals that care about others, ot those who want equal treatment for all.........how radical is that???? See what I mean?
Those who promote hate, are the ones to watch. I bet most people didn't know that there are over 1,000 terrorists groups here in the US right now, seeking to destroy this country. It's true, amazing, but true.
Bite me Biden! Bush took us into a war that was suppose to pay for itself within a year, without an Act of Congress and started it at a time that he knew would be the worst possible combat conditions for our troops.
Bush was the Black-sheep of the family and was a failure with everything he did. The Biggest cost of this war, is all the private companies that came in to rebuild and the Blackwater Group that was hired to protect them. Meanwhile, Afghanistan was put on hold until we could bring in the troops, that were sided tracked to Iraq, to move ahead. Bin Laden is not the reason for us being there, but the large untouched deposits of gold, copper, iron ore and most of all lithium. I can assure you that they had Bin Laden in their sights many times, but, they didn't have the deal in place that they needed. The Russians couldn't do it and got out to cut their losses and now, they put our country into hock trying to do the same. They don't want us infidels, there. Period!
George Herbert Walker, Prescott Sheldon Bush,William Averel Harriman,petroleum and steel sold to Germany during WWII, charges not made?/dropped? Corruption is not new to the Bush family/ and friends.
George Walker Bush, he may have felt short changed in the name department, as he has a shortened name from his father, and without Herbert in there is he a Jr? Is he a war criminal awaiting trial in many countries?
'Bush opponents filed an action in Switzerland in advance of a Bush appearance at a charity Fundraiser in Geneva. Shortly after the filing, the Bush appearance was canceled. Feb. 14, 2011. obama needs to become the one term wonder he is so we can get to putting our country back. the man couldn't do the job. maybe in not so trying times a greenhorn jr congressman could have made a half way decent president. in trying times we need somebody that has held a real job and understands how things work. not just what's in some book he read.
If Clinton had taken Bin Laden out when he had the chance 911 may have never happened. As for a suprlus - what rudy surplus? His administration borrowed from your already depleted SS fund to show a surplus so it was all a dang lie. Which party has been in charge of Congress the most btw? Which means they controlled the purse strings in America? Oh that would be the DEMS - that's who and they allowed the war to go forward. Voted in support of it but you only support something until you are against it eh?
If you folks ever come to the concensus that both sides of your political arena have been screwing you up the backside for years - then and only then you might begin to see change in America.
"Pink while you and others bash and call what you do free thinking claiming others will not allow you your power, you are, by your action and words, doing the same thing."
You can say that again Barbara.
In a conversation on PM's anti bully group she says,
"I looked Katii up on the Care2 search-engine and found a connection to MoveOn.org, which caused me to have to make a decision for the good of our group."
That "decision" was to kick said Katii out of said Bully group based on the "MoveOn connection. Another member of the group. seeing this "reasoning" by PM felt inclined to say and ask,
"I don't understand your reasoning on that Pink. A connection with MoveOn.org will get you kicked from an Anti-Bully group?? "
Good question I say. And the obvious answer speaks volumes as to PM's true agenda. Its not free speech. Not even free thinking, and finally not even free association. Why, what a little...or should I say...small, tyrant you are Mindy.
By the way Cam....when you say that both have been screwing us, you seem purposely non specific. That seems your method. To paint vaguely, claiming equal guilt by both as cover for the Conservatives that have been doing much of the screwing. You impressed me, with a couple of your comments in PM's tyrannically ruled Bully group, but the wide brush here is the same old, muddy the waters tactic which forwards the rights anti gov intent while and by blaming all without detail.
Recently Obama discussed the stalemate of his economic plan proposal. He went on to say,"I want people in Congress to tell me what they don't like about it. So far I have heard nothing." This is nearly a direct quote.
Is this anyway to govern? - from a distance. Lyndon Johnson, Reagan,and Nixon would have been on the phone finding out what the problem is. They would have held meetings of both parties to has out their differences.
This President is WAITING for the government to come to him? No wonder his administration has accomplished nothing.
When Obama says "I want people in Congress to tell me what they don't like about it" he is putting public pressure on those who oppose without merit. Once the question has been asked. Its is time for them to answer. The ball is in their court and the country is watching and waiting with him for the answer. What specifically, Baggers/Boner gang, do you not like about it? He is communicating publicly. Its called the Bully Pulpit. He's nailing them down for specifics of their opposition. I'm sure they don't like any more than you do Allan. I guess thats just too bad.
I'm afraid that I don't totally understand US politics except that they affect me in the UK. However, I don't like the fact that there are many aggressive people here who attack anyone who disagrees with their view and that isn't acceptable.
What I see is a man who seems to be totally out of his depths and unable to keep his promises. The protection for wildlife and the environment seems to have disappeared as quickly as a soap bubble and the promises to protect the medical/health care were pie crust. The poor are left to starve in tents or camps! And, of course, he has stiffed the compensation to the Native Americans big time!
The problem with the financial problems that happen is that governments only look for a short term fix so that they look good so that they can be voted back in. Long term fixes are not dealt with because no-one looks good enough or they think that the opposition will benefit.
Nyack, you may not agree with the birth certificate but, if you look on youtube, there are videos of Obama clearly saying that he was not born in Hawaii but in Kenya. There are also videos of him saying that he is a MuslChristian. I also listened to a professor of American History at a quality US uni and he also doubts the veracity of the birth certificate. Now, I am entitled to disbelieve as you are entitled to believe. Personally, I believe any politician as far as I can throw the House of Commons or the White House.
IT'S HARD NOT TO KEEP BLAMING BUSH WHEN THE ECONOMY IS SO SCREWED UP. PEOPLE WANT TO BLAME OBAMA FOR THIS MESS WHICH ISN'T FAIR AT ALL. OBAMA HAS BEEN TRYING TO CLEAN UP THIS MESS SINCE HE HAS BEEN IN OFFICE. THE REPUBLICANS HAVE BEEN FIGHTING AGAINST HIM ALL THE WAY. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE JUST HURTING OBAMA. WHICH THEY NEED TO REALIZE THEY'RE NOT HURTING HIM. HE HAD MONEY BEFORE HE BECAME PRESIDENT. SO THE ONLY PEOPLE THEY'RE HURTING IS US THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY. THE REPUBLICANS ARE A BUNCH OF NO COUNT GREEDY INDIVIDUALS. IF YOU'RE NOT RICH YOU'RE NOT IMPORTANT TO THEM. THEY WANT TO RAISE THE TAX ON THE POOR AND LOWER THEM FOR THE RICH. HOW IS THAT HELPING THE COUNTRY AND THE ECONOMY. IT ISN'T. THEY DON'T CARE EITHER.SO THE REPULICANS ARE TO BLAME FOR THE STATE OF THE ECONOMY AND PUTTING THEM BACK IN POWER AGAIN ISN'T THE SOLUTION TO PROBLEM. INSTEAD OF WORKING TOGETHER AND HELP PRESIDENT OBAMA THEY WOULD RATHER SEE THE COUNTRY CONTINUE ON A DOWNHILL SPIRAL. ANYONE NOT WEARING BLINDERS CAN SEE THAT OR UNLESS YOU LIVE UNDERGROUND. A LOT OF IS DENIAL BY THE REPUBLICANS RICH AND POOR. BOTTOM LINE IS REPUBLICANS ARE IDIOTS AND DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS COUNTRY OR IT'S POOR PEOPLE REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT.
I sent a green star to Barbara for that long post. There has been a domino theory exercised by an elite class of college Young Republicans encouraged by Reagan, that said keeping a business and industry going by retaining and bargaining with loyal employees while making a profit is not good enough. They started the arbitrage cycles (see "Barbarians at the Gate" ) deliberately destroying employers of millions of people after getting all rules and order of trade gutted in Congress, then getting the 2000 election thrown and celebrating new Supreme Court "Justices" who did not even affiliate with ordinarily 2oth Century Law.
No, we SHOULDN'T stop blaming Bush for the mess he made: h made it. What we should do is stop trying to shift the blame to Obama and pay attention to who's continuing to ignore job creation: Republicans again.
Nothing Biden said vindicated Bush. And nothing he said suggests any expectation that the Republicans,e ft to their own devices, will do anything to repair their own mess. We have to look at the alternatives being offered: a jobs bill that offers not just paychecks, but meaningful work on America's infrastructure. Why in God's name would the Republicans oppose that? They have yet to come up with a better, or even equal, suggestion.
Yes, the Obama administration is in charge now, and that's where we have to look for a way out of this mess. It certainly won't be coming from corporations or from the politicians they own.
All of the catastrophic Bush legislation and bad decisions did not go away when he did. Bush's shadow still hangs over us in many ways. The Bush tax cuts and the wars, of course. Corporate welfare and subsidies. Then there's privatization that typically increases costs by 2-3 times over that of in-house government agencies. Deregulation which in the financial sector cost the United States trillions of dollars.Then there's the MediCare prescription drug program. I have to admit that was a brilliant piece of political legislation. It curried favor with seniors, provided windfall profits for BigPharma campaign contributors and raised costs so much the GOP can now claim that MediCare is so expensive, we have to get rid of it. There were policies that redistributed wealth from the bottom to the top in a big way, creating more and more poor people thereby greatly increasing safety net costs. But then that was the method to the madness: increase the cost of government so much that a case could be made to get rid of it. It was brilliant. Brilliant, but evil from the brilliant but evil minds of Karl Rove and Grover Norquist.
has Joe Biden Lost his mind entirely??m Methinks the "Hair Plugs he Had Installed" a number of years ago may have let either his common sense or brains leak out over the years.. Cheney being the puppetmaster did exactly the same thing to G Dubya he did to Nixon Reagan and Bush Senior. he advised total corporate takeover as well as more rich for the rich . that way we all become privatised . As it is everything we buy now the 3% of the populatiopn in one way or another get a cut of . Every time they Lobby against something the prices go up. If you watch Gas prices , thats an example of greed . However the Price of gas being always yelled screamed and kept at the top of our attention list , is a piece of misinformation and misdirection. Logic behind that ?? simple. How does everything move accross this country? either by Truck or diesel electric trains .(diesel engines generate electricity for the electric motors that move the trains . What you watch is the Price of Diesel . because that dictates the cost of everything we buy. Every time the price goes up , the price of food jumps between 10 to 30% . the retailers also have a bit of greed too. Chney sold us down the river , but did it from the background right up front. Again its easy . Every single time you saw that absent minded actor Reagan sign any bill , especially one on Voo-Doo Economics or the Trickle Down Economy , who was sitting behind Reagan slightly to his right?? You guessed it Cheney . Cheney was Prompting Reagan . Now althzhiemers didn't suddenly hit Reagan he had it in his first election . One thing they found was Ragan couldn't recall much of anyhting . BUT hand him a script and he played it flawlessly. Cheney has been directing this country down the road to the people working for the company store for decades . his tactics are exactly the same as Hitler and his cronies used . Dont believe me? do the homework. Cheney and his group that authored the "Hudson University papers " people like Condoleeza Rice , g Dubya , Daddy Bush , Rumsfeld the list goes on . As soonas cheny hit the white house every last one of that same group was appointed to high government positions . Able to steer us in Cheneys version of mien kampf. Cheney is a corporate raider as welll as a criminal . he should be under prosecution for starting a war with lies , directing a war with no strategy , no battle plan and no exit plan . same as hitler went into Poland . remember Hitler staged terrorist attacks in the borderlands between poland and germany . Thus being able to do a war speech Just like G Dubya did . when cheney was caught lying instead of prosecuting or making him accountable . like the republican terrorist fascists did with clinton and the $42 Million dollar blow job . he got away with calling the non supporters Flip Floppers. While the republicans were using Clinton to distract us they did their dirtiest work . which is what they have been doing for many many decades . how any intelligent human being could vote for any republican just convinces me that there are a lot of either brainwashed or insane citizens inthe USA .the republican debate was a piece of hidden truths that just shocked me because no oe seemed to be listening to what was said .. the mid term elections I simply do not trust . the first bush electionwas stolen period . I beleieve that was the BETA or the test run , Because congress elected officials can do a lot more damage than a president . the proof is i whats happened since Obama got elected . the last thing the republicans wanted was the Obama seat , because the hemmoraging wounds from Cheney vush were still bleeding profusly and the repubs would have been screwed . why wsnt cheney prosecuted? why wasnt bush held accountable for his puppeted strings from cheney? Why weren't we made aware that a stinking drunk was representing us overseas? because daddy bush said not to worry because he will be surrounded by the finest ninds in government?? ya just like no new taxes read my lips . he left out I will raise the old ones and take away your deductions . Unl;ess your stinking rich
one thing needs mention "Health care " everyone is under the impression that health care prices are generated by hospitals and doctors. that is WRONG . Fact If you go to an emergency room and get care with no insurance the bill will automatically be $1000.00 ,now you have insurance , look at the amounts paid by the insurance before the 20% you pay . fact the health care facilities are under a contract with the insurance companies . that is how bills are done . Hospitals came up with creative billing . example look at the hospital bill in detail . you will see a charge of $295.00 for 'Mucous recovery System" want to know what that really is?? The small package of Tissues they put in the nightstand . Analgesic (tylenol 325 mg) $275 PER DOSE!! .. it is NOT the Health care facilities controlling health costs. it is not hospityals or politics that are death panels .IT is insurance companies denying care until your past the treatment window . they have been murdering us for years doing that . how do I know this?? Even more simple I sold halth care , life , full life , term , homeowners , all of it for JH.. think it through people before you let these republian terrorist Fascists do away with our hard earned freedoms . the rich neiter earn or payu for any freedoms . they reap th benefits while we spill blood. When is the lasttime you saw a rich folks kid in combat? Or a politicians kid in combat? th questions was asked to our corrupted politicians . the answer was 0 . Think it through we are becomming profit fodder
Question: Since when does an employee or a public servanty GIVE themselves a 28% pay raise without accountability?? Using reasons like I need a resedence closer to work? they knew where they worked when they were elected . Part of the job , Since when does an employee or public servant GIVE themselves a retiorement that only a CEO can drool over? Since when do employees or public servants give themselves a Perk or golden umbrella of $1 million to $5 Million if they leave office?? Since when does an employee or a public servant GIVE themselves a Health care policy with NO Co-Pays , NO Premiums , No demyal of treatments? Nothing is too good for them , BUT they exempt themselves from a health care system we need?? I can tell you when they are able to do all of these things without accopuntability . They do this when THEY ARE NO LONGER EMPLOYEES OR PUBLIC SERVANTS . TEY DO THIS WHEN THEY BELIEVE WE HAVE NO CHOICE AND THEY "DICTATE" WHAT WE SEE HEAR AND BELIEVE"
According to the article, Joe Biden said, "voters should look to economic policies put in place under the Obama administration instead of blaming the Bush administration. There’s a lot of people in Florida that have good reason to be upset because they’ve lost jobs,” Mr. Biden said. “Even though 50 some percent of the American people think the economy tanked because of the last administration, that’s not relevant. What’s relevant is, we’re in charge. And right now, we are the ones in charge, and it’s gotten better but it hasn’t gotten good enough. And in states like Florida it’s even been more stagnant because of the real estate market,” Mr. Biden added.
How does that translate to: "Vice-President Biden is making news by addressing all American voters and clearly stating that it is time to stop blaming George W. Bush Jr. and to start blaming the Obama Administration for our current economic situations, successes and failures."
Joe Biden has unparalleled expertise on some subjects, such as foreign affairs, but it's not unusual for him to have difficulty expressing himself at times. As the person who's SECOND-IN-COMMAND in the Obama administration, I find it hard to believe that he would place the blame for the failures of the Bush administration onto the Obama administration.
I think Greg Sargent of the Washington Post explains Joe Biden's remarks clearly and fairly:: "Biden was just stating the obvious: A majority of Americans thinks Bush and GOP policies are responsible for our mess, but they hired Obama to clean up that mess, and will judge him in 2012 based in no small part on the progress he made towards completing the chore Bush dumped in his lap. Biden was right on both counts. And his acknowledgment that Obama now owns the economy doesn’t change the fact that the public knows full well who broke it."
A lot of great comments were made in response to a very misleading article that was preceded by an even more misleading introduction...
Sorry, Mindy, but the premise of the post and it's title is disengenous. In regcognition that neither party is ideal, the solution and our salvation resides with us. Our view and our strivings need to transend current political views.
We are being driven by powerful financial interests which do not have our wellbeing at heart. If we continue to engage in partisan politics we'll only end up in the gutter and our hard work will be skimmed off the top to line someone elses pockets.
Mindy, tell us about this Green Party that you like to say you are endorsing. What is their position on all of the issues we're dealing with today? Who is their candidate for 2012? What, if anything, do you actually know about the Green Party?
PinkMindy, after watching your antics on Care2 for quite some time, I've noticed that the ONLY thing you are concerned with is bashing the President. Never have you concentrated on promoting the Green Party, in any significant way. Your soul purpose in life seems to be to bash our first black President, and nothing else.
I contend that your profile is one big lie, and that you are one of the biggest frauds on Care2. I understand that the rightwing has begun paying sock puppets like you to infiltrate websites like this one, to present yourselves as liberals, Green Partiers or anything BUT republicons, so that your rhetoric would be more palatable.
You say in your profile that Jimmy Carter is your role model. What does he say about how our economy got this way?
Right-Wing Sock Puppets Pretending to Be Liberals Assault Progressive Websites
'Some on the progressive side are already well aware that the GOP is, and has been at least since 2005, mounting a large and well-funded campaign to plant phony 'progressives sick of the Dems' comments on various liberal sites to split the vote. Their masters know the psychology well: a percentage of the population, no matter what their politics, is 'suggestible,' meaning if they read a string of comments excoriating ALL Democrats as frauds and liars, that will become their opinion, if nothing to the contrary is offered. These 'suggestibles' are not necessarily stupid, but they do readily conform to whatever opinion is dominant. That's why the GOP, through their paid operatives, flood progressive sites with so-called 'former Democrats' and 'angry progressives' who do nothing but harp on how horrible the Democrats and Obama are. It's insidious and underhanded, but look at who's doing it --the RepubliCons.
PinkMindy, you are a fraud, and the readers should know this. Green Party my a**. Jimmy Carter is your role model? That fact sure jumps out while reading about your disgust of all things Democrat. You have no sense of decency, do you?
Actually our nation deserves better up-beat presidential news, but we are forced to report nothing except for:
Obama fundraisers are failing.
Liberals, Democrats, Blacks, Hispanic and Jewish voters are turning away from Obama.
Wall Street and their fundraising support is turning against President Obama.
U.S. economy and unemployment is Obama's fault now!!!
... and so on and so on and it makes us all weep for better leadership in America.
I don't buy Biden's remarks. In fact, while the GW Bush Administration contributed to the current state of our economy with the Wall Street bail-outs and illegal wars, the fact is the destruction of the American economy (and consequently the World economy) started several decades before the GW Bush Administration. Corporate greed and irresponsible Congressional behavior has gotten progressively worse since the Korean War. Let's face it, wars are profitable, peace is not. And while Congress and their corporate buddies are making money, each presidential administration is taking steps to drain the very blood from the American taxpayer.
Nyack comments: Only Nazi's and their proaganda continiously attempting to undermine the United States and the more I hear and see the more I FIRMLY stand behind Obama, so so does everyone else that I know.
I flagged as inappropriate name calling...
Just because we don't believe in obama, or believe he is a citizens of the United States does not make us a nazi..I also believe the man is a muslim as it has come out of his very own mouth, he speaks of his muslim faith.. PinkMindy, why are you so reluctant to answer any questions about your role model, Jimmy Carter, or any other direct questions that I, or anyone else asks you?
Scarlett, is that what jesus would do, flag someone for perceived name calling? Your profile reads like some sort of religious fundamentalist, jesus freaks' desperate attempt for acceptance. Every time you make a comment on Care2 the first thought that comes to my mind is, would jesus say or act like that? The answer is always 'hell no he wouldn't'. Which leads me to the only possible conclusion. You're as big a fraud as Mindy.
So why don't you take your fake jesus worship somewhere else, because frankly Scarlett, we don't give a damn.
Scarlett says: "I also believe the man is a muslim as it has come out of his very own mouth, he speaks of his muslim faith..."
So what if he is? I don't smell religious intolerance from a Christian do I?
MJ M don't expect answers from PinkMindy. She's 'protected' herself from ever answering anyone who disagrees with her with her very own little personal blacklist of C2 'cyber-bullies' and Rule 1, never answer/argue with a 'bully'. Works out perfectly in her mind!. Expect to probably be on her list soon, if not already lol!
That concocted 'cyber bully group' fits in quite nicely with her agenda, doesn't it?
Mindy and Scarlett, how much money do you sock puppets actually make from your deceptions?
Ken, are you kidding...she 'created' that group because of me! I've been trying to get her to answer simple questions about her agenda since long before that group. If she thinks it's going to shield her from any scrutiny of her racist posts, she's more demented than we thought.
Ahh, smoke, mirrors and nonsensical diversion away from the real facts at hand.
Here's an interesting article to read and ponder over:
Americans broadly expect President Obama to be a one-term president in the wake of the Solyndra scandal and extremely low job approval that he's been receiving over the past seven months or more, in regard to a continued failing economy & unemployment.
Most of the policies we are currently operation under are policies put in place during the Bush Administration,, must has not changed. It was Bush's policies & promises that got us where we're at- tax cuts while fighting two wars- outsourcing jobs, you name it. No, this has been 30 years in the making, starting with Ronald Reagan. I'm not happy with Obama, but the Republicans are out to make sure he looks bad, and willing to trash the economy for the sake of winning an election. I'm not going to place more blame on Obama than I am the trickle-down economic theorists. The economy is never going to fully recover without meaningful trade law reform and job protections. Since neither side is talking about that, we are doomed to become a low-wage, third world country. The 1 percenter's should be happy for themselves.
I should add that it was Reagan that ramped up the 'War on Drugs', another policy that has proved a failure and a colosal drain on America's wealth, not to mention the countless lives lost.
I'll try one more time....PinkMindy, this article you posted is about not blaming George Bush for the mess we're in. You say on your profile that ex President Jimmy Carter is your role model. Where does Jimmy think the fault lies?
You say you are a Green Party supporter. How would the Green Party fix our economy.
Both questions are spot on topic of this thread. Why do you refuse to answer these questions? Are you too busy rolling around on the floor with Carol?
