Oil companies are showing more and more interest in actually investing in ethanol companies and contributing to research. BP, for example, has recently formed allied with ethanol company Verenium, and is pouring billions of dollars into development.

Well now they have a great excuse to go destroy more rainforest so they can grow their fuel and people can just starve now.... pls check out my news story from the NYTimes on free, wireless, pollution-free electricity that was discovered by Nikola Tesla. They call it "free energy" and it literally is free and abundant all around us all they time--the problem is that no one can get rich from it....

I don't know why anyone is surprised. Greed follows the tide of political agenda. Last year, when gas prices were through the roof "for uncontrollable reasons," Exxon posted record profits for the entire year! Now that the political focus is on biofuels, some of which are worse for the environment than gas, does anyone think Big Oil will sit by and not "become concerned" about the environment? Their goal is to make money, regardless of the consequence. No one should ever be fooled into thinking anything else.

I suggest you all take a look at this video and then decide if you want to support Shell at all. Exxon Valdez oil spill was paid by the taxpayers through bailout money.
