This is reall great news -these very brave -caring people are saving the cats from a hiddious -death ,but where are they going to keep and house them?that is the worry ,also their continual upkeep, not until China and it's neighbouring Asian countries bring in laws to protect -all animals will they be safe -thank you for what you have done .

Do people realize that the cats in these cages are not feral!?!?

There are people in China with heart and soul....with consciousness. Fighting a corrupt, gangster regime and an age-old ancient mentality that destroys animals for food and medicine. The wheels of justice turn ever so slowly.....but they turn.

Great news!it`s make me happy that animal lovers in China fight for animal rights in China, and againts old and sick tradition like etaing cats and dogs and killing wild animals for "traditional medicine". I hope that younger generations in China will change mentality and this country will have strong animal laws.

Noted Tks. Paola... As a cat lover and an owner of 8... I so glad that these kitties were saved and a chance of a better life..The new generation of Chinese should be sickened by this barbaric act on animals..I'm also happy that they're Chinese people that care and love these animals to help save and give aid to these kitties..
I've not had a very good view of the Chinese, cause of this barbaric act and how cruel they can be to these animals..

So Kudos to the Cat Rescue and all the people whom are involved in the Rescue..

Too the Cats and Kittens that died. may you all Rest In Peace..for Karma will get the bad people that did this to you one way or another....
As for the people that caged these cats, they're the one's that should be caged with out food/water.

janet f (29)
Monday September 3, 2012, 1:07 pm
Horrific. From this article I guess I can surmise that nothing was done to those who were responsible for this. China is usually so quick to punish it's citizens. This is one case where someone should be thrown into jail for a long time.

I am glad to see some people in china are starting to do something to stop the unbelievable cruelty that seems to go on there unabated. The real problem is that this is not a country that is known for their love of animals. It's not like these cats will all find loving homes. I'm concerned what will happen to them in the long run.

Kudos to the rescuers for saving these wonderful cats.Every small victory is another step to winning the war, winning the war against the blatant and wanton cruelty that is carried out to every living species in China. Its time the rest of the world sent a loud and clear message to China that this complete disregard for all other species has got to stop. Lets all hope and pray that these cats can be re-homed safely into forever homes.

The heart wrenching photos... Volunteers from China who rescued these kitties deserve our admiration!!!
Still, cat and dog trafficking is outgoing problem. In Asia currently consumes about 13 to 16 million dogs per year, plus 4 million cats.

noted....thank you for everyone that has been there to help these know animals do not deserve the cruel ways that human treat them....i can not understand how people sleep at night knowing that they have hurt/killed an animal for really no makes me so sad to know that our world is becoming so demonic when it comes to the treatment of innocent animals.....and unfortunately there are at the mercy of the human hand as to their fate.....they have no voice or can do nothing!!!! God take care of all of them!!

I read the comments and see that theres some confusion as to whether these cats are Feral or house pets and to that i say....WHATS IT MATTER? Are they NOT all cats?Do they not all deserve to be saved? It shouldnt matter to anyone if these cats are feral or pets they are ALL cats that deserve to be saved as a cat lover with 3 house cats and a caregiver to a Feral cat colony i can attest that ALL cats are the SAME! Sure you may have a little harder time getting close to a feral cat if they dont know you but thats only because of all the abuse and crulties inflicted upon them, once they get to know and trust you just try keeping them away lol THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FERAL & HOUSE CATS! One has a home and love and the other has NO home and NO love!

So happy they care. The Chinese must have loved pet cats, historically. The Mandarin word for bird is "niaou" with the inflection sounding just like "meow".

Cat & dog fur is relatively cheap in comparison to other furs, which also means it is easily affordable & disposable. Is that 'fur fashion accessory' truly worth the horrific suffering these animals endure? How can anyone in good conscious wear any type of fur?

1- Most peolple in China has cats or dogs as pets and don't eat them, according to a Chinses person.
2- EVERY country in the world is cruel to animals because animals are murdered for different reasons.
So stop saying stupid shit about the country with the richest culture in the wolrd, and look at what is done in your own country! That is shit nacionalism, "Chinese people are bad because they eat dogs and cats, and Japanese because they eat dolphins, but we are great because we eat caws, pigs, chickens, etc etc etcetc...".
But I'm really gald this happened, I hope people will be able to go get their pets back, and the other cats are adopted.

This is good news, the mere sight of these cats crowded in those cages is truly horrible. I will never understand how anyone is capable of doing this, of consuming cats. Neither do I understand it, however, when it befalls any other animals. In China cats and dogs have yet to rise to the status they enjoy in our society. It is necessary to note, however, that there is no animal whatsoever, regardless of the species, who would deserve such a fate.
