Keystone Pipeline Delay Is Dangerous to Animals

President Obama's delay gives the appearance of a breath of fresh air for America's Heartland animals. However, this announcement neither brings a global sigh of relief, nor faith in the Obama administration's purportedly aggressive Clean Energy campaign.

obama candy assed this and turned it into an election prop. he shouldve just said no instead his decision to delay the decision till after elections kinda tells me that our health and beauty in this country is negotiable. now there is a chance of an anti-environmental republican president who will surely approve it.

he should take a page from nancy regan.

just say no.

Yes! and another YES to everything written, and it's enraging. A few decide for all of us. A few are deciding for the fate of our wildlife, environment, air, water, health - ad infinitum. Be enraged. Anarachy, Something, I don't know- still thinking about it... how to stop the Monster...the government that we let develop for years to be in bed with special industry while everyone was sleeping...And now we have a MONSTER. Ok, sorry...gotta dash. Thank you as always, Deb. All NRDC petitions signed (will it be enough???) 80% of others signed....

I have signed most of the petitions (some are for Americans only). Thank you for composing another brilliant article. I share your skepticism: President Obama could have expressed an emphatic 'no', yet he elected a delaying tactic, which only intensifies concerns that this project will be greenlighted eventually. I would to be delighted to be mistaken, but my doubts are hard to dispel now. I do not live in America, so correct me if I am wrong, but this Administration has never seemed particularly green to me while there seems no true will--or there is, to say the least, a lack of resoluteness--to shift to green sources of energy; instead, we are witnessing the deepening of the dependence on oil. No strategy could be more short-sighted and more detrimental. It sounds like an irony that the U.S. would be in the forefront of the summit that is to address global environmental issues, the U.N. Conference on Sustainable Development, since the U.S. itself is very stagnant, if not regressive in this regard... What I find particularly unfortunate is to see an elite that is fully aware of its power, but less so of its responsibility. Such decisions have a great impact and far-reaching consequences; they concern much and many, yet it is doubtful that they are treated with due seriousness by the powerful. The intoxication of power, lucre, and greed always interferes with that which is good and right: Such is the sad status quo.

Our Mother Earth is suffering and our Relations critically endangered so that begs the obvious which Obama shelved for his own self preservation, that would be, as already expressed & I agree ... SAY NO !!!!!!!!!!!

If Obama would only say no to this horrible pipeline maybe the horrible tar sands would be shut down here. Have signed petitions to our wanna-be-U.S. prime minister but it's hopeless as he doesn't read on-line petitions. Thanks for articles regarding this topic Deb.
