Politicians may find themselves facing a loosing battle in the 2012 elections clinging to the belief that the Keystone Pipeline expansion is beneficial.

hope so...but its all about propoganda right now being election time....notice how republicans are blaming Mr. Obama for high prices and failing to do something about gas prices, same ones who protected Mr. Bush....truthfully, President does have little direct control and neither should be blamed....republicans aren't too sad gas prices may go very high because if they slow the economy may hurt President's re-election bid....

its all a sad situation....yesterday, someone on the radio pushing Keystone XL agreed only be 2000 jobs total created....also agreed puts a lot of pollution in the air and greenhouse gases...however, he still argued we should build it because "we can only live for the present and not worry about the future"...sick!

Thank you Deb for this important article. We Do Not Need another Alaskan Pipe Line and become like Iran and wanting the world to bow down to us cause we have oil that controls the world through corporiate greed.

Hooray - the Senate finally grewa brain - at least some of them! The Repugs and NObama do not get it that the public knows what is going on here and we don't want a foreign invasion that will only damage our environment and we get no one penny of benefit! NObama is a big oil whore - the Arctic, the Gulf, the coasts, wants to allow drilling in wilderness areas - and he promised to get away from this and concentrate on renewables! So much for believing him, but, I guess we really wanted to. I WILL NOT VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN! I am going with an Independent - go to AmericansElect2012 and vote in an online primary to get a candidate on the ballot! There are no other choices - not NObama and not the Repugs!

Yeah, it has been rejected, yet it does not seem to be over... I hate to imagine what land our children will live on... If K. XL oil were to be directed to China, it would be only about economy: China violates human rights, is lacking in animal welfare laws, and its economic growth means great pollution, despite of which as if it stopped mattering when it comes to business, which is very disappointing and saddening... Where have real values gone? Do Republicans believe that "green energy resources are (...) unsustainable"? Is it not vice versa? "American constituents keep their eyes focused on job security." I understand, but what would it be good for on poisoned, destroyed earth? Such a line of thought must be somewhat short-sighted...
