Such an interesting topic - if mankind can see something-anything he inevitably can project ownership and a set of his rights upon it. As if anyone could have rights over celestial bodies! It's wonderful to see how "Cosmos" has evolved since the 1970's and the leaps of understanding we've achieved since.

Cosmos was made in the late '70s, but shown on TV in 1980. There was an updated version shown in 1990.
