As a Church you protect your young. Was already convicted and no background check was done? Noted, thanks

It's a sad sign of the times that I suspect that almost no-one reading this will be surprised.

But let's not our over-familiararity with this lessen our disgust and distain for these men. The crime is appallling, but in their case you can also throw in hypocrisy of the highest order.

By all means throw the book at them.

Maybe the focus of the Christian extremists is misdirected. Instead of focusing on the rights of Gays to marry, perhaps they should focus on child abuse and molestation as their demon; after all, there seems to be more of them amongst their own than gays and lesbians.

Those proclaiming to be ministers to others should be sentenced twice as long as anyone else committing the same outragious crimes. I hope they are raped on a daily basis in jail and burn in hell for eternity.

What the parents of the victims need to known is how much the churches knew, and when they knew it. They also need to know whether or not the churches bothered to do background checks before allowing these monsters into positions as "youth pastors."

Guys like these are drawn to right-leaning churches because more progressive churches do a better job of checking backgrounds. They can sometimes even admit that they've had "problems" in the past. Using the right words and expressions that appeal to the fundamentalist mindset will get them in the door under the guise of "reformed sinners." Which is utter nonsense, of course: pedophiles and hebephiles don't change or "reform." They just learn to manipulate their victims better.

The religious right has a long history of sexual abuses. It's no wonder they want to bring more unwanted children into the world. It's like Ducks Unlimited; they're afraid if they don't breed enough now, there won't be enough to prey on later.

Agreed Marianne and I also agree with you Dotti. I wonder if this will ever appear on FOX Noise... I'd be willing to bet the farm it won't.

It is a shame but this seems to happen all too often where ever youth congregate like in churches, schools, sports and youth organizations. All places where they should feel safe.

Wolves in sheep's clothing. Why am I not surprised? No offense to actual wolves or sheep intended.

Unfortunately, this type of behavior is becoming typical in these far-edge sects.

It seems that it happens all over the world, and no church is spared! Catholics have their lot too...shame on you people!

Background checks should be done before these people are hired. Will churches OK that expense? I would hope so. These molesters are crafty monsters who cannot stay away from kids.
