Derrick Avery, who gained fame in movies and on television as "Pimp Snooky," was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday in federal court in Milwaukee.

His attorneys wanted him to serve 10 yrs? 20 yrs in hard labor is what this man really needs, while given small rations! But that would be inhumane!!!!!!!

Avery's attorneys contended he was working with the FBI at the time and that federal agents wanted him to maintain his image as a world-class pimp in order to snare other criminals.

What does this say about our society when officials condone this type of abusive behaviour to get information? There needs to be a complete change in attitudes regarding 'pimping' or trafficking as we know it to be. It is apparent that no woman young or old wants this type of existence and only tolerates it because of threats of and actual violence.

If we stopped making prostitution so illegal, the women who need / want to do the work wouldn't need to work for scumbags like Avery, they would be protected and certified healthy with health insurance and yearly exams. Our society makes his crimes possible.
