Thank you Rose for bringing this story to C2. This is one of the reasons I do not like mandatory sentences, as it leaves the circumstances behind these crimes out of it for sentencing. Until we as a society do a better job at the protection of our children, women, and Elders, they should not be given life long sentences when they have their back up against the wall, she was both female and at 16 a child.

And we all thought slavery ended about 150 years ago... She's one of the tens of millions who still endure this absolute horror... Look at any major global event (Olympics, World Cup, etc.) and you'll find (tens of) thousands of them smuggled in to service the visitors. Every government knows it happens, none of them seem to do anything about it. This is the real war on terror we should be fighting.
