Signed of course! And this soon to be former officer should also not be allowed to own any fire arms! I would also love to hear he was not allowed to come in contact with children, but you'll be telling me I'm exaggerating...
Look at what he did, this man is a threat to public safety!

signed- it's disturbing that many police seem to think this is a nonharmful way to shoot people. There are significant risks and we don't really know what effects this has on a developing human body.

Wow......this creep needs to be fired and so does the moron in charge that thought a 3 day suspension was good enough. Signed and noted. Cops like this give good cops a bad name.

While you're at it, take away all the tasers and destroy them.

No policeman should use them on a ten-year-old.
No policeman should use them.
Policemen shouldn't have been issued with them in the first place.
Since day one it has been clear that they are deadly,
that no policeman knows how to handle them. (ie throw it away, where nobody will ever be able to use it.)
Pregnant women, heart deficiency patients WHO CALL 911 FOR MEDICAL HELP ! ! ! ! !
The list goes on, and it is sickening.

Incidentally, another field in which the USA does NOT lead the world - thank goodness for that.

Signed petition. Too many law enforcement officers do not have enough sense to be entrusted with a gun or a taser.

Dear Mr. Police Officer: That thing you're carrying is NOT a toy, any more than your gun is a toy. You're supposed to use it responsibly: That means, ONLY WHEN YOU HAVE TO. We're all very disappointed in you because you acted like a child instead of an adult. I'd add "I hope you shoot yourself next time"--except that I've already heard about the police officer who accidently shot himself on Career Day and sued the city because "he wasn't given the proper training."

Well, it's not as though any other law enforcement people in New Mexico have shown brains. Although I'd think those higher up in the foodchain would quickly remove him by firing. I, partically, would feel safe only if I was a middle-aged white man I would definitely not go there as a tourist.

What was his excuse ?-he was terrified ?the boy was brandishing a knife?he was frightened for his lfe?what reason was given for his using the tazer?I hope the boy's parents take this matter further as -justice was not done -and wasn't seen to be done.

This "officer" actually used the single most common statement uttered by those who "accidentally" shoot and kill or maim others with 'real guns'. It is here and always is a piss poor excuse for blatant incompetence and criminal negligence. Thank God that the moron did not think his Gun was unloaded or there would have been at least one dead child. And at what point was this douche nozzle lead to believe that refusal to clean a cop's car falls into the same category as "failure to obey a lawful order" and even then the use of non-lethal force requires following set guide lines. He needs a dishonorable discharge that ensures he receives no benefits and will have one hell of a time finding any law enforcement work any where else.
