This story is incredible. Not only is this woman raped by the Somalian security forces, she is sentenced to a year in prison, FOR TRYING TO HURT THE GOVERNMENT? The journalist she told was also sentenced, her husband was charged, her witnesses weren't allowed to testify, and the judge declares she was not raped? How good does this judge think this whole thing makes the government look? Of course, as the article points out, women are unlikely to report being raped if this is how they are treated, so these forces can go on raping women. Who knows how this will ever be stopped? Signed. Thanks, Rose.

This case is so disturbing. The Somali "security forces" often rape women, and this woman had the courage to speak out.

the survivor of rape was already in jeopardy when she took the risk of raising her case publicly...the judge who gave the verdict that the woman wasn't raped DO NOT DESERVE that seat in court...
