There is something very terribly wrong with the men in these countries---castration of all these vile male raping mongrels is what's needed...I bet castration will crush those from future contemplating these atrocities against children and women. I'll volunteer my services! thanks

We know what it means when the Pakistani police are investigating the incident- not a damn thing. I read nothing about an arrest for attempted murder, and and assault on the mother who tried to protect her.

Unfortunately in those countries this is allowed to happen with the ok of the males, and government offices. Women have no rights and never will have as long as those people (if you want to call them that) are in charge.

That is totally insane. I pray that she recovers from the attack. Plus that jerk that did it gets locked up in prison forever with the key thrown away. Thanks Rose

I can't imagine being a female in this country. Talk about no rights or control of your life! My heart goes out to this young woman. She is in my thought and prayers.

What a coward this Shaukat Khan is. So he brought with him the acid already so he would be prepared in case Bushra Waiz would turn him down?
He ruined on purpose a young woman's life. I deeply hope that he has to get reborn again, and experience the same agony.
What a lowlife evil beast, disgusting.
My heart goes out to Bushra.

THOUSANDS of women in Pakistan and Afghanistan (Iran and Bangladesh) are horrendously scarred, blinded, disfigured, in permanent pain and killed each year by Muslim men who view women as property and throw acid at them for the slightest or even no infraction.

If you search the web, you can find many photos of this horrendous mode of misogyny. Most of the time, the men are not punished, because Islam basically holds women to be chattel with almost no rights.

Another popular mode of punishing women in the Islamic world that is even more pervasive is the use of electric cord to whip the women. Literally millions of Muslim women are beaten in this painful way for almost any reason or no reason. Muhammad told his followers to beat their wives, and they have done so throughout the centuries.

As chemistry and technology have become more sophisticated and ubiquitous, so have the means of inflicting pain, damage and murder on these women.

I don't know what it will take for this to end.

Right now, in these countries, polio is devastating the children because their parents refuse to let their children get either form of the vaccine. This has been going on for several years now. Why?

Because two Jewish scientists created the polio vaccine, parents in these countries believe the polio vaccines are actually a plot to render Muslim women infertile.

After this anti-polio vaccine took root, it was further reinforced by the U.S. government's attempt to find out Bin Laden (and many health workers who went out to deliver the vaccines were murdered by many of the same people who refused to immunize their own children).

In any case, this is literally wide-scale antisemitism that is crippling and/or killing Muslim children in this area.

This one actress is the tip of the tip of the tip of the massive iceberg of attacks on women in this part of the world, and we will find more of it as time goes on.

Shaukat Khan should be arrested and thrown into prison for what he did to Bushra Waiz, 18.

There is no excuse for his behavior even if it was sanctioned by his religion. It is a bad religion, period.

Ty, Rose.

What can I add that the others here have not already said. There is no excuse, never ever for this vile and evil act.

The poor girl has her life devastated because a man did not get what he wanted. It is typical behaviour of tyrants and bullies to attack when someone is weaker.

I normally do not advocate an eye for an eye. but in this case he should suffer the same fate at least. Not next lifetime but this one now.

My heart goes out to Bushra Waiz..

Noted, because as Patricia M. said: this is only the tip of the iceberg. Because the actress is well known, her story comes to our attention, but thousands of similar or even more horrendous stories remain hidden.
Religion is one thing, but ancient tradition and overpopulation also contribute to life meaning very little in general and making the lives of women almost worthless in particular.

Acid seems to be the weapon of choice for these out and out bastards.
I hope this creep gets his just deserts but I wouldn't count on it in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

This is a terrible attack! I hope the police do their work thoroughly and properly, and this man is brought to full justice. No-one has the right to attack anyone else in this way

The UN ranks Pakistan the worst country in the world to be a woman in, and no wonder, yet that is really shocking when you think of all the horrible places for women like Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Gaza and so many more. Most of the women in prison in the blackhearted country are there because they had the courage to report being raped which, under Islam's 'merciful' deity, makes them adulteresses unless they can produce 4 Muslim men as witnesses to the assault or the rapist confesses (fat chance). Disgusting.

These cultural acts must be changed, they really need to address what they feel is grievances in another way. Any time one is hurt in such a way or killed it is wrong, no matter who is doing it, no matter the reason.
