"Skamania County Undersheriff Dave Cox said Dillingham was not arrested for investigation of animal cruelty because the dog's death was instantaneous and it therefore did not suffer." Seriously, which part of the brain (if they even have one) they use to come up with this idea?

People with no empathy for animals often have no empathy for humans as well. This man definitely needs to be investigated and prosecuted. Why is this sort of behaviour allowed in our society? Even if one isn't an "animal lover", surely they can see that someone who does this needs help?

Please someone, I will pay you if I have to, target this monster and shove a stick of dynamite up his jack and light it. Don't even give him the opportunity of going to trial, hardly anything ever comes of it and they get off. He needs to feel the horrendous pain this poor dog must have felt. I am raging and if I could get hold of this despicable sob I would definitely sit for his gruesome murder.

The road to eliminating problems like this lies on your plate first, on your back next, and on your television screens after that. Then we can march on the research labs for good measure.

N & S thank you for the forward. The "judge" judicially SUCKS and should be removed from the bench. This truly STUPID JUDGE has set a legal precedent that many animal abusers can and will use as way to get away from inhuman acts on animals. I wonder if the judge was bought or bribed for this insane ruling. Big Agra can now use this new legal ruling to avoid any legal ramifications for how they treat the animals they raise & kill? As to the dog murderer, he has to have prior legal problems. There is no way a 45 year old POS just gets up one day and does this. Jail time of at least ten years and phych evaluation to see if he can be released back into society.

In the comments box of the petition I wrote:
This man must be charged & sentenced to the fullest extent of the law for this cruel act.
Just because you say the dogs death was & he did not suffer is irrelevant. The dog was Dillingham's pet, therefore the dog was loyal and trusted & loved Dillingham, It's a scientific fact that dogs become very in-tune with their owners, therefore as Dillingham's companion, he would have sensed that something was not quite right. It's very possible that the dog may have resisted or struggled when Dillingham went to strap the explosives onto his collar. It's also possible that the dog was scared because he could sense something different/not quite right with his owner. Also, can it proven that Dillingham set the explosives off immediately, or is it possible that he didn't, in which case for a period of time the dog would of been able to smell the explosives, (a strange/different smell to the dog) which could have caused anxiety for the dog.
Either way what this man did was cruel, he abused the dogs love & trust & he should face the full consequences & be sentenced to the maximum extent.

signed and now noted. What is there to say? We live in a society where monsters such as this roam free, as there is no warning sign, no 666 imprinted on their foreheads, no hint of their inhumanity, until something horrific, such as this happens. Once again, a poor animal was an innocent victim, while this sick, twisted bastard derived pleasure in blowing up this helpless dog. No trial for this piece of trash. No mercy. The same horror should be inflicted on him. The justice system fails where it concerns animals. TY James and to all who fwd'd.

This is animal cruelty to the fullest extent! Shame on them for not seeing this and going after this guy for an absolutely heinous crime! He also took the life of this innocent beautiful dog- doesn't that mean something! It's just too bad that he didn't blow himself up instead- what a horrific deed and how vicious he is! This is another prime example why people like this need to be removed from the animal society exiled banned from the human race!!! Someone is a high position needs to have heart and pass that sever and strict law to hold these people as examples to others send a message to deter hateful people from doing this ungodly act! If they would do this to an animal then they would to people these acts like this send a message to all that we aren't safe from humans as inhumane as this

August 06, 2013 | BY Robert Pregulman

KOIN in Portland reported about an hour ago that a Stevenson, WA man arrested for allegedly blowing up his dog will now face animal cruelty charges despite prosecutors saying yesterday that they couldn't file those charges.

They now believe they can prove the dog, a Labrador retriever named Cabella, suffered before she was killed.

Christopher Dillingham was arrested Sunday morning by Skamania County deputies after they received several reports of a loud explosion at his home about 4 AM.

KOIN obtained documents that gives a clearer picture of what happened on Sunday.Christopher Dillingham, left, is accused of blowing up his Labrador retriever named Cabella with an explosive device. Photos from

After the deputies arrived Dillingham told them that “the world is going to end” because of a nuclear strike and that he was preparing for "the Rapture."

Cabella was given to Dillingham by his ex-girlfriend, and he said he killed her because "she put the devil in it."

KOIN said that Dillingham allegedly "made the explosive device on his home work bench using black powder from fireworks." He owns a fireworks stand called Thundershack Fireworks. The website has been taken down but the Facebook page is still online.

Dillingham then allegedly "strapped it around the dog’s neck and fed the dog treats to keep it from trying to wriggle out of the bomb."

Dillingham has long arrest history dating back to September 1993, when he was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle in Oregon. He was arrested in 1998 for drunken driving, and in 2007 and 2009 on assault charges in Washington.

He already faces charges of second-degree malicious mischief, reckless endangerment and possession of explosive devices. Animal cruelty is a Class C felony in Washington with a maximum penalty of 5 years. He's being held on $500,000 bail.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries to defend his actions by claiming he was mentally unstable. As I'm not a lawyer or a psychologist, I can't opine as to Dillingham's mental state.

All I can say is that the person who cruelly killed Cabella belongs in prison for as long as possible and should be prohibited from ever owning an animal.

Rest in Cabella. You've inspired a lot of people to fight on your behalf.

Here is a video of Dillingham in court from KOIN:

So just because the dog died instantaneously its alright? the man is insane and should be put away before he decides to blow up his neighbors instantaneously, he gets away with it because his dog was an animal but he wont get away with doing it to humans...but its the same thing, whether the victim is animal or person...

The dog didn't "suffer?" This is the same line of reasoning used to absolve monsters like Ashley Nicole Smith from guilt for crushing and murdering animals while being filmed under the perverse "freedom of speech" clause.

These are the signs of the fall of civilization. Rome is burning. Humanity is lost when crimes like these go unpunished by the very "justice" system that purports to represent and protect the interests of society.

The judge who made this decision most certainly could stand to be outfitted with a combustible collar of his own. I'll say no more.

Noted, tweeted, shared, tweeted, signed. This is one sick monster. Said it before;, say it again; He's dangerous; people who hurt without conscience will always hurt. It doesn't make any difference whether it's animal or human. They enjoy playing God, and they enjoy the pain of others. He is a mistake of nature; a reject that should have been thrown back. Unfortunately, often these rejects escape identification for year because they hide who they are. Bottom line, throw the book at him. Put him so far way he won't see the light of day.

Please Sign & Share the Petition below with Friends/Colleagues, Facebook Animal Welfare/Rescue Groups, Rescues & Animal Welfare Organisations Far & Wide.

Letter I added to my Petition Signature:

I have just read the story regarding the horrific & incomprehensibly barbaric slaughter of this beautiful innocent dog Cabella. Chris Dillingham viciously killed his Labrador Retriever, Cabella, with an explosive device made using black powder from fireworks. I am absolutely horrified & it has upset me beyond what simple words can convey. The sheer terror & pain Cabella must have endured is too unbearable to even think about. I keep going over it again & again in my mind. If only SOMEBODY could have stopped this EVIL monster carrying out this despicable act of cruelty ending in the most heinous slaughter of his sweet & innocent trusting dog Cabella. The severity, maliciousness & premeditated depravity of this atrocious act of animal cruelty & murder is despicable. Any human being that is capable of such abhorrent cruelty to any living being, WILL do it again. The Law needs to put this atrocious crime into perspective & the punishment should fit the severity of the crime. This evil man should be locked away for at least 15 years or preferably serve LIFE in a prison or mental institution.

It is well documented by psychiatrists & psychologists, that human beings who have tortured & killed animals WILL do it again to another innocent animal. They very often have psychopathic &/or sociopathic personalities, that can lead them to killing humans. There is NO WAY of knowing how the 'mind' of a monster like this works & what he is capable of. He needs to be locked away for a very long period of time & if necessary undergo years of psychotherapy, so he can never be in a position to put another animal through this horrendously cruel & indescribably tragic death.

All living beings are sacred & my heart broke into a million pieces when I read about Cabella, who must have suffered so terribly during the last few seconds of her precious life. I know you are now resting in peace at Rainbows Bridge Sweet Precious Cabella & you have no memory of how you suffered during the last few seconds of your life here on earth. My Beautiful Cats Shadow & Tiggy Willow are at Rainbows Bridge & I know they will have welcomed Cabella with open paws & will be with her for eternity in the Paradise that is Rainbows Bridge. From one who cares deeply for ALL the animals on our planet.
