Forty-seven nursery school children were killed yesterday when a train smashed into their bus in central Egypt after a railway signal operator fell asleep.

i always wonder why people blame anyone other than the operator. clearly, he is the only one in control of his mind and body. when you have an important job, you can never be off guard.

How aweful! But what about the school bus driver? Aren't bus drivers supposed to stop to make sure there's not a train coming? Even I was taught to look both ways before crossing railroad tracts. Sounds like there are 2 guilty guys. And many dead kids. SAD

This is tragic news indeed. Sadly, the Egyptian railway system does not have a very good safety record.

Of course this was a quick blurb on the news and I thank you for more info. Such a sad tragedy with 2 neglectful parties and many grieving families...
