Noted and signed with comment: "The USPS is ab essential federal institution. The Republicans' effort to slowly dismantle and to privatize mail delivery for the benefit of companies such as FedEX and UPS strikes at the existence of our democracy and the very concept of public life.

Exactly Judy, this is just one more American institution being pushed out in favor of the private sector. Congress is forcing this issue by straggling the US Post Office and assuming the American public is too stupid to see what is happening. Signed and tweeted

Already signed but thanks for getting the information out there. Congress, again working for their Masters, pushing under a good system that has worked for over a hundred years to give Fed Ex and UPS the edge. Watch all their prices go up once the Post Office is destroyed.

Start speaking out people and learn what is going on. The US postal service doesn't take any taxes from you. No other Company has been requested to pre-fund retiree health care and pension benefits for 75 years. This is plan is working, a death blow to the US postal service.

Credo Petition signed.

Get Darrel Issa, a puke g o p person, to take out the language he inserted into the bill that requires Postal people to fund retirement 75 years in advance, for employees not yet even born!

The information is correct in that the Post Office is strangling itself with its own benefit plan, and its misuse of money. It's easy to blame a political party instead of blaming the government agency itself for mismanagement.

This isn't the first petition on this issue I've signed. I wish it could be the last, but I'm not optimistic by nature.

Petition signed. Ticks me off that Congress screws everything that they touch. Wish they'd all have to take a big cut in their salaries and really understand what it's like with less to work with. Thanks Robert

just another GREEDY old politician attempt to make everything private and for-profit so the greedy rich can get richer and make everyone their servants.

Another thing that hurts the poor the most. Not everyone has a computer to do their bill paying and banking. Not everyone lives near a UPS or FEDEX station. Not everyone has access to other mail options like Mailbox.
For many living in rural areas, the small post office is a gathering place, a social center. I am so bone-weary of everything that helps people being cut, depleted and crushed.

I don't mind the Post Office closed on Saturdays, they should have the weekend off like alot of people do.

As far a privatizing it, I think it will come. I know in NJ they privatize motor vehicle agencies, actually works out better and they still have the same employees and then some. Its more efficent now.

Gov't does not want to be involved w/ the post office, let it be someones elses headache, and the Gov't will not have to pay the good benefits/medical insurance they get. One less bill. Let the next person worry about it. We all know when that happens more will be coming out of the employees pockets for all the benefits, but then again we all are in the same boat. Employers are paying less & less of those benefits. Then as time goes on the employer will get GREEDIER AND GREEDIER. Just another company, it all comes down to GREED and HIGH PROFITS.

STOP Foreign Aid, and use some of that money to give FREE AFFORTABLE HEALTHCARE to ALL Citizens of the US. Congress & President should not be exempt from Obamacare, whats good for us is good for them. They are greatly known to give to themselves and the heck with us. Use the remaining money and start paying down our Naional Debt. Its time the Citizens in our Country are not ignored.

Noted and signed. Thanks Robert. I understand the need to stop the waste, but all they are doing now is using bandaids to stop the hemorrhaging. Overall, the way they do business has to change.
