When the Maine State House voted 111-33 this week to call for a constitutional amendment to overturn the US Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the support for this bold gesture was notably bipartisan. Twenty-five Re

Many bills of this nature have been proposed by Senators and members of the House, none have been allowed on the floor for debate. Until they can be debated and voted on the floor they have no chance of becoming law. Too many elected officials are indebted to the money of the political scene. If this is not cleaned up we have little chance of cleaning up the cesspool of Congress (both houses).

Thanks for posting this good news, Robert. That is great---500 communities have "signed on" as well as 13 states. Now, that 's what I call speaking truth to power. Congress members from these states & communities should be paying close attention. MoveToAmend has been sending me mailings telling of the communities they'll be working in and asking for volunteers; there are many ways to help them.

Good for Maine, they also voted for medical marijuana, and approved same sex marriage. How the heck they voted in a Tea Party Governor I'll never know.
