A couple of irresponsible drunken hunters shot 30 dogs in your country for entertainment. The dogs were there guarding sheep for their owners. President of Romania, please sentence these hunters to the fullest extent possible.

Your signature has been recorded. Thanks Bob. In Romania, there doesn't seem to be much concern about killing dogs.

Although I've noted and signed this, I cannot help but be somewhat skeptical that the Romanian president, to whom this petition is addressed, will pay much attention to this, and neither is it likely that he will take any action on this. Sadly, the killing of dogs, particularly strays, seems to be rampant in that part of the world... Or so it seems...

Signed and noted. We need to keep sending petitions against this casual cruelty in Romania and elsewhere. Sadly these cumulative actions seem to have little effect now, but eventually they will! Signed and noted. Thanks, Robert.

Signed, although l feel the petition will be ignored. Romania is in the dark ages as far as animal welfare is concerned. These adults are the product of an inhumane regime, they may have known nothing but brutality, the regime was renowned for its cruel policies towards minors. Now that the country is exposed to tourism one of the benefits may be felt by the animals. Lets hope so.

Wait, these dogs were NOT strays but working animals with sheep to guard, owned by somebody. These yahoos should be strung up by their toes. Romanians have enough trouble trying to make ends meet without some louts destroying their ability to have an income. If not for the dogs, then for the people, these idiots needs to be prosecuted!

It's too bad there isn't a place for comments on petitions from this source, I'd've liked to have pointed out that these dogs weren't "just" pets--they were guarding the owners' sheep, which represent these people's livelihoods--and the dogs were probably trained, which would mean that in addition to any emotional attachment, there was probably substantial time and effort on the part of those owners to train these dogs. Although the assumption that the petition will be ignored is probably correct, and any additional considerations would be ignored as well.
