I'm afraid that it has been easy to be touched by Patrick's story, but it seems that it's not so urgent to change laws. Why has this petition so few signatures? No animal deserves to be abused, abandoned or neglected. It's time to pressure.

I think we are here to make a difference. Crying on Patrick and on too many others it's not enough. We should sign most of all those petitions that claim for new laws, to show we don't follow only our hearts, but our brains, too. PLEASE SIGN.

Noted & Signed on 4/18/11. Hopefully we will get this law to pass through., this needs to pertain to all animals that are abused. Fines & penalties must be very strick & not just a slapp on the wrist. So many people get away with a light fine & this is so unfair. Anyone who inflicks pain or will kill an innocent animal must pay a high price. Thanks Laura

Animals must be treated with respect, any pain or suffering inflicted by the hand of man is not acceptable to me.

Laura:
I signed on April. But what you are saying is true and pathetic. And I am an example. My petition is drying in Change.Org. Only 2 or three friends from Care2 signed it. And it is asking for protection to all animals targeting big names, trying to open other doors.I am seriously thinking on stop sgning petitions sent to me and stop writing letters whenever is necessary.Or less necessary but i do.It is frustrating.Only Constance is always there without having to ask her. And even asking, people does not respond. I wonder if it is because of me directly. It is sad. - I would like people to tell me. Anyway, you can make an observation: small animals petitions are mostly signed by people from Europe. Level of indifference is pretty high. And it is indifference what is killing animals and destroying forests etc. Sorry to say. But it is true.
Personally, i feel very lonely doing this work. Not say fighting because fight presumes antagonism and i believe in team work. I am trying to work for animals hopping attitude of people commiting cruelty change and come to this other side to join effort. - I still hope and believe it can be done.
