Surprised that more than 6 in 10 voted "yes." I hope India is not regarded as "backward" nation.
Anyway PLEASE visit the site and vote NO..this "Deccan Chronicle" MUST know the world is changing and so should India.

Your vote was recorded. Voted NO. People need to get over it and just frikken LIVE. Homophobes need to stop trying to run everyone else's private business, get out of people's bedrooms and lives and stop trying to push their views, morals, ethics, religion and whatever else they want to ram down everyone else's throats. Get over it already, this is 2013.

from comments section there- -have they been listening to Bachman?? O MG
" Homo is abnormal state of mind where a particular person doesnt get interested in opposite gender making it an abnormal mind. Instead of makiig it a crime, better to send such mentally ill person to homage/mental asylum."

BTW .. this isn't the first time I find your opinion way out of consensus..
Your stance on signing petition about MISOGYNIST Limbaugh was quite odd too
Tell Limbaugh Sponsors To Stop Promoting Hate Speech
I said this earlier in that post & I repeat it here again..
INTOLERANCE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED

Sexual orientation is innate. Nobody is born criminal

I can't believe 64% of people voted 'yes' it should be a criminal offence! How backward are you homophobic, ignorant people?

didn't Ghandi promote acceptance? and isn't he from india? wonder how he would feel about having all his hard work totally unacknowleged by his own country men and women. it's a natural tendency for some people. what's wrong w/sharing physical intimacy between consenting adults that harms none! would they rather see them killing each other???????????????? it's evil to prevent something that spreads goodness.

No, the SC is wrong! God loves all people
I am straight but feel no hatred or animosity against my brothers & sister all over the world who are gay, lesbian, bi or transgendered or multi sexual.
Since God loves all, who are we not to love all?

Noted, Voted "NO" and shared to Facebook....was just disgusted and saddened to see how many people voted 'yes'....I had hoped our world was more open minded and open hearted....can't believe anyone thinks they can tell someone else what they can do in their own bedroom....

Noted, voted no. India has a big problem with rape and violence against women, as do most other countries of the world, including the United States. It seems to me that its resources would be infinitely better spent if they were more devoted to helping solve those problems instead of making up barbaric laws like criminalizing homosexuality.

I too voted NO. Why can't people just allow others to just live the way they want? As long as they aren't harming others. They have the right to do whatever they wish. Thanks Krish

When I voted a moment ago, it is 60% thinks the SC is correct; 40% thinks a change is needed. Progress being made apparently. I noted this story/petition and will go back to the site to share.

Proudly voted NO! Everything is now becoming illegal, immoral or unchristian. There are days I feel I'm trapped in the twilight zone. Thought all our protests and sacrifices from the 1960's had made a change for the better, no! More like we are back in the 1860's. corrupt politicians, gun lovers everywhere, women's rights being diluted or taken away, the rich vs. poor disparity, the robber barons now called Wall Street and the gangsta/banksters. Sad on so many levels.

I find this question stupid and asked by someone who ought to know better. Because of questions of this insensitive nature, it only fires up the stupidity of those who think gays are choosing that lifestyle on purpose, not because they are born that way--something the uninformed still apparently doesn't believe. I also wish the "straights" would get off the backs of the LGBT community and concentrate more on homosexuality not being a chosen lifestyle and why. That would do more good than ridiculous questions like the one posed in the title of this article.

Apropos of what I just said, I was shocked to note that so many people voted "Yes." Then I was right--people really ARE stupid when it comes to this issue. Stupid and cruel.
Saturday December 14, 2013, 12:47 pm
Noted. I voted "No".....results are still: Yes-57%. No-43%. So, the "no" is gaining some points from earlier when it was at 36%....so we are having some impact it seems. Hoping more join in to at least push it to over 50%. Thank you so much for posting, Krish. What is it that people just don't understand that "love" is an inclusive word, while "hate" only excludes?
