(Reuters) -- The Dalai Lama may be the guest of honor of President George W. Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other world leaders, but you won't find Tibet's exiled spiritual leader on the Beijing Olympics guest list.

To the Dalai Lama this is something he can live with, it's about alot more than receiving an invitation to the Olympics
Dalai Lama is a very intuitive human being, this is the least of his concerns.

"But China fears he (Dalai Lama) would steal Chinese President Hu Jintao's thunder."

Dalai Lama is a very respected man while Hu Jintao is not. No comparison.

TY, Gregory.

I think it's good he's not invited.
The Dalai Lama would have accepted and come - he is a decent man.
But I find it better for him not to come as long as there is no movement of the Chinese towards honest peace with the Tibetans.

I welcome their stubbornness!
:)

Religion is often inseparable from politics. I hope that Olympics is not a meeting place for a display of political games and religious power.

Like he would go. I'm not watching them or supporting the athletes either. Thanks Gregory.

I, too, am protesting the Olympics. This man is safe right were he is and has much more to teach the world. We would still kiss China's ass if they killed this man.

Why would someone so much like the devil invite someone holy anywhere? Ultimately, good will win out--karma. Thanks for the post, Gregory.

If I were he, I'd be raising a different finger.
He's got too much class.
