This occurred about a year ago. Look at the irrational over-reaction of military style police tactics to a mother who decided not to give her 13 yr. old daughter Risperdal, a psychiatric drug.
They look like they think they're in a movie or something, role-playing some tough futuristic society police state.
Of course when you get this absurd a reaction you know you're looking at one screwed-up system.
Medical policed state.

There are criminals in society everywhere and we choose to go after a good, wise, bold mother (appropriate name)! Man do they want to drug us up/dumb us down. I keep hearing ads on tv that people can even get Rx now for free. Thanks Kenneth.

Also a link here of just a week ago Arkansas found the makers of Risperdal, Johnson and Johnson, misled doctors and patients about the risks of Risperdal, and the company’s marketing campaign violated consumer-protection laws. The fines could be 1.25 billion:

Goodness me - this starts off being an alarming combination of heroic peaceful mother versus demented over-reaction of govt powers with armed police with immense multi-shot guns and huge armoured vehicles like tanks - versus one woman and a child! Did they ever feel ludicrous and manipulated by their bosses, I wonder?

/Thank God that it ends up (after TEN court hearings) with the mother triumphant and a wonderful judge supporting her. Hooray for Marianne - God bless them all!

I wonder if Big Pharma paid for all the added expense, or if they just donated a chunk of money to the cops Benevolent Fund, though ultimately we are the ones bankrolling it to be sure...
and what in hell could be their legal standing to make this all happen...child abuse, endangering a miner child?!

I think we need to take a good hard look at whatever insane judge ever signed any papers to allow this to happen and see just how much he got out of it. Thanks Kenneth, another nice expose' 1love

I am thoroughly disgusted at how all government entities behaved...except the judge that protected the rights of the mom. The Child protection services should be sued. They are killing children.

It was an heroic act on the part of the mother and an ubelievable show of force on behalf of the authorities. There is something terribly amiss when armoured vehicles and automatic weapons are brought to bear on a non-violtent citizen who is just trying to protect her child. Where is the common sense?

I am impressed with this woman's tenacity and strength of character and I am glad she stood up to the thug-life mentality of the police and the child "protective" services workers. So many times people get mowed under in cases like this. I would also congratulate the judge for being wise in this case and for thinking of the best interests of the child, rather than just going along with the power play the State made. Kudos all around.

For one Mother......protecting her child....

And who is PSYCHOTIC???!!!!

Talk about Insanity!

Sure, why the hell not. If we can't use the tanks in Iraq anymore, bring them to the local neighborhood to arrest Mothers and children.....for refusing to take their medicine.

Will someone pinch me and tell me I'm having a friggin bad nightmare here. HELLO.....IS ANYONE HOME?

And the majority of the people seem to be in a fog getting more upset if something happens on Dance With the Stars or their Football Teams looses......all the while we have TANKS coming after unarmed Mothers.

No she isn't a major drug dealer, no she isn't with the Mafia, no she isn't a Terrorist (but I guess we all are now), no she wasn't threatening to kill her daughter, nope just an average Mom who loves her daughter and they send in the FN TANKS!

The War is here people, the war is on YOU! Tanks = Like, #@%*&

Where is the outrage?

Why are the Officials not going to jail for overkill of use of their weapons?

I'm glad she finally won, but look at the cost to everyone, financial, emotional, spiritual, physical.

Get ready people, you'll soon be next if you don't get the vaccine they want you to have, they bang on your door, round everyone up, riot gear, tanks, swat teams, and you'll stand in line and get those vaccines whether you want them or not.

Thank you, Ken for the video. I do believe that in some cases i.e., my grandson has ADHD is taking Ritalin. He is truly a monster without it. What I do not understand is that the M.D. prescribed it to be taken on school days only, No weekends or holidays. I asked my daughter to question the M.D. about this. What is your opinion of Ritalin? Risperidal is a powerful drug.

Sheryl G (360)
Thursday May 17, 2012, 4:38 pm
Dotti, Ritalin many times is told to be given only on school days as that is the time when the child needs to focus the most on their school work. It can have a stunting affect on growth from what I understand so by the not giving it on weekends or holidays it lessons this part. I'm not a Dr. but that is from what material I have read and heard others state was the explaination given by their Dr's.

I find great hope in what this singular Mother has done in her stand against horrific odds, tanks, swat teams, the officials after her, the courts. Which just goes to show, that if we as a Nation of people would only show some backbone, like this woman did, we could bring some sanity to our Country.

Join with others, raise your voice, join an Occupy group, but do something.

Great posts Dandelion! A lot of people need a kick in the butt. Great to see your emotion and energy!

Regarding Ritalin: "In June 2005, the US Food and Drug Administration issued a series of public health advisories warning that Ritalin and drugs like it may cause visual hallucinations, suicidal thoughts and psychotic behavior, as well as aggression or violent behavior".

"Ritalin is the common name for methylphenidate, classified by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Schedule II narcotic—the same classification as cocaine, morphine and amphetamines."

It is used as a street drug by teens called 'Kiddie Cocaine'. Also known as 'Skittles' 'Smarties' They're crushed and snorted.

Kind of makes you wonder who the drug pushers are. In the pharma companies? In the doctor's offices? In the schools? In the gov't?

And of course there are quite a few psychiatrists themselves who don't believe in ADHD. Also other health professionals such as psychologists, medical doctors, nutritionists, neurologists, who don't believe in ADHD. There are many many other fields that address what may be going on with a child other than a psychiatric mental disorder diagnosis of ADHD.

It would serve the government pinheads who pulled this stunt on her if she now teaches her child that the government is the enemy and neither mother nor child(ren) ever support the Detroit city or Michigan state government again in their lives. She should have taken the case even further and demanded the prosecution of the entire force that had assaulted her plus demanded compensation for her unlawful jail time.

We're a two faced forked tongued nation. Who claim to care about our young, bombarding the public with "just say no" politial speak campaigns all the while forcing God knows what down the throats of our young to modify their behavior.

We tout the message to stay away from drugs and in the same breath tell parents and kids that this little pill will keep Jack / Jill from being disruptive in class. I've heard of teachers informing parents that their children may need a persciption. What medical degree gives them the right to practice medicine? We're cultivating several generations of pharmaceutical junkies and medical coat wearing drug dealers.

Kudos to this mom for protecting her child at any cost. I want to know why citizen taxpayer dollars were used to finance this blantant abuse of power over an American citizen? I also want to know what group of degree waving, knuckledragging, power mad idiots thought that this type of force was needed? It seems the morons running this city may need some thought altering meds, or maybe they're already self medicated!

Thanks Kenneth. This is the 'American Dream' promised by the government!! Its
more like an 'American Nightmare'! America is no more a country of moral values and
principles. Its now ruled by thugs who only know to use 'Brute Force' both at home and on
Foreign Countries! People Power is needed to oust out these 'Monsters' from government
and bring back the Freedom of Rights to the American people!

This highly dramatic and stylized presentation makes me question the facts... on both sides. But more importantly, what about those "parents" who will not allow children safe and effective medications due to religious or other irrational reasons? Who will now protect them? The Detroit system is obviously flawed and the police response was without question excessive but children sometimes, in fact often, DO need the protection of the State. What is needed is a better way to accomplish that. And keep in mind that it was the State, and its laws, that corrected the injustice. This is just not as simple as it is presented. Perhaps if we spent more money on children than bombs and corporate support the systems for protect children would work better.

This woman is an inspiration. Willing to stand up to the authorities when her observation of her child countered their orders, she was in the right. I have been following this story since the beginning, the treatment she and her daughter recieved is disgraceful and quite frankly terrifying. She is now a powerful advocate for the rights of the parent. She has my admiration and my gratitude for continuing to speak out to help others.

I seem to remember this story from last year. Thanx for the update Kenneth. Women and moms are fighting for our freedoms on all grounds. This mom has been through hell and back. Thank goodness the judgement was in her favor. She has set a precedence for many similar cases. We all have burdens now and then. Some fight for us all. Maryanne Godboldo is one who did just that.

Dotti Lydon lies. he is just a path carver for the future and a child who's indivudual shining-ness is being taken for granted and it's an inconvenance and nobody likes it.

it's being called "being a kid" and good things, every great person "had a problem", and ADHA is just a bad word for "I ain't taking your shit and doing my own thing and will make great stuff and not do your thing"
