Actually too, this bear according to the article, is the oldest-known living wild bear OF ANY KIND in the world, not just black bear.

God bless and protect her - only around three percent of the 350 bears in the study have had natural deaths - what an indictment on society!

Considering as the article says that half the females don't even make it to 4 years of age, #56 is truly "smarter than your average bear", or the luckiest ;-)
