5 Reasons Progressives Should Treat Ron Paul With Extreme Caution

"There are few things as maddening . . . as the warm and fuzzy feelings some progressives evince for Rep. Ron Paul of Texas." "He's anti-woman, . . . anti-black, anti-senior-citizen, . . ., anti-education, and that's just the start."

We need a cohesive and viable “Progressive” Third Party (while welcoming the success of new Third Parties on all sides). In the interim, we also need true progressives to continue speaking truth to power, while standing their ground (as previously in a hard-fought history) – without compromising to such points that every basis becomes meaningless. In addition, we don't need progressives to open doors of consideration to people like Ron Paul – who might have a few good points, but basically destroys the world (and all of its progress) with the other ninety-four.

P.S. The latter and former is not an endorsement of how our corrupted media censors his campaigns, thus controlling outcomes (and certain realities).

"He said that he doesn't see the need for a federal response to Hurricane Irene as the powerful storm makes its way up the east cost."

"We should be like 1900, we should be like 1940, 1950, 1960."
Ron Paul Addresses Hurricane Irene

Anti-government programs or services -- all the way. Anti-regulations -- all the way. States' Rights!

Do you know what happened to Galveston in 1900? Would you be better off with the level of regulations that existed before Theodore Roosevelt?

Good article, Wind. Peope look at his anti-war stance and don't look beyond it to the horrors there.

Sorry, Wind... couldn't give you a green star today. I have read this article in my alterNet News and on Facebook. This man is no different than the rest of them... he's racist, hates women, wants to get rid of social security and medicare, wants us to live like they did at the beginning of the 1900's! POOH! Just how are people today supposed to have big gardens, hunt and fish, have chickens and a cow in the back yard when most of us no longer own our homes, but live in apartments, with relatives or on the streets? Next he'll be wanting to bring back the iron-heeled wagons and teams of horses, getting rid of refrigerators and washing machines, televisions, computers and cell phones!! THESE FREAKS ARE CRAZY!!!
