No, no, you guys, a lot of people get lights now-a-days by just flipping a switch, it's not witchcraft!! Light, they should try seeing! It is getting to the point where telling anyone that you live in the over priced state of New York is down rigth embarrassing!
Please check out my share artical about our new governor's budget for NY. He is going to hurt a lot of people by closing too many hospitals and kill a lot of the cats and dogs by rerouting their funds to other areas. SUCKS and he could just get away with it, no matter how we vote! That seems to be the new way of things

So, it's ok for Georgia to teach the Bible in public schools, but a teacher can't be Wiccan, a protected and recognized religion? I hope she takes the school for a bundle. This is ridiculous!

And here I thought the WITCH hunts were a thing of the past........

This is so ridiculous!!! How does one person (principal) enforce his beliefs on the school, etc., and then without proof go after someone else because of difference!!! I hope this woman wins this suit!!! Admittedly, this should not ever have occurred given our Constitution. On the other hand, it's surprising how many rights we're losing without realising it!!! Witch trials in 2007??? I like many other here, thought those days were long gone; having experienced a past life recollection of being burned at the stake, this is more troubling!!!

Surprised?, not me. We're living in the dark ages of the religious right wing neocon bush society and nothing I see surprises me any longer. I'm afraid if something dosn't force our government to live by our constitution we will soon be no better off than the mideastern countries that are controled by Islamic Mullas.

I wish Witch Hunts were of the past, but unfortunately, they are not. As long as there is ignorance, intolerance, and prejudice, there will always be persecution for those of any religious and/or social belief.

Why does everyone assume she is telling the truth? If she was fabricating lies about injuries to her child and husband then I doubt she is telling the truth about being fired for her religious beliefs.

Being originally from New England, yes a neighbor to Salem, this is particularly apalling. Noelle, this is 2007 and we are just as religiously bigotted at we were "back then."

In this day and age, I'm appalld that people can't worship as they like, they can't love who they like, they can't live as they like. I thought this was America, the land of the free? Where are all our rights going, soon we will be under curfew, patches put on our clothing to tell everyone who or what we like. Bar codes tattooed with barcodes, and the goverment will have all of our DNA on file. When is this going to be a free country, withought bigotry, without judgement from people who have no rights to judge. There would be no stereotype or prejudice of the color of our skin, how we dress, or just who we are. When will we all just be proud American's, with life, liberty and justice for all. Let FREEDOM ring??? When???

as long as she's not handing her beliefs to the kids or pulling some animal sacrifice on the premises...and someone ought to keep an eye on her for the sake of the animals where she lives!!!!

While animal sacrifices were common thousands of years ago, most modern Witches would never dream of harming an animal.

Bide the Wiccan law ye must,
In perfect love, in perfect trust.
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill
An ye harm none, do as ye will.
And ever mind The Rule of Three:
What ye send out, comes back to thee.
Follow this with mind and heart,
And merry ye meet, and merry ye part.

I have yet to meet anyone down the path hurt an animal....an it harms none do what ye will...you harm an animal and it comes back 3fold...I dont know where you get those ideas from but we dont do that stuff

Do we not have freedom of speech?? Are we not the home free and it looks like we better be brave, if we are to
be attacked and punished for what we believe. TRUE Christians do not judge live and let live.

One would think that true Christians do not judge, or that they have an attitude of "live and let live" (after all Christianity is such a gentle religion), but guess what, I'm afraid that you will have to think again. It is not the religious but the secular folks in this world that are the most tolerant, followed by those who are only slightly religious and less emotionally involved with their particular faith. When it comes down to the nitty gritty of the matter, it is the True Believers in whatever faith, that are the biggest bigots. Religious fundamentalism has historically generated more intolerance and prejudice than any other cultural factor in this world. That this is still true today should be a surprise to no one.
This clown had the religious conviction that it was reprehensibly wrong to have a wiccan teaching the children at the school. Who knows what un-christian thoughts they might absorb. He also had the authority to correct the situation, so he fired the lady. Who knows what these people would do, if they had the power to do more than fire.
Personally, when it comes to having someone to wield authority over me, I would feel a lot safer if that someone could not so much as spell the word God.

If she is affected by Munchausen's by proxy or some other disorder, I can understand her need to be relieved of her teaching position until she gets some treatment. But I cannot fathom where this insane witch-hunt business is coming from....except another disorder that could use some treatment.

As a mother of a Wiccan daughter, I am appalled at the take some people have on this story. To begin with the Wiccan way is the gentle way, they do not harm man, animal, or earth. Just because they were here before the Catholic Priests doesn't mean that they are or ever were "bad". I would be far more distrusting of the priest than the " witch" , which by the way is not what they are really. If you do not know or understand the Wiccan way do not judge. Then if you do learn the "way" you will stand with me and them, that in no way is a Wiccan to be distrusted or would ever be harmful to man or animal. They do not believe in satan, in fact there is no satan, and when they pass on it is to "summerland" where they find their families, loved pets that have passed. How can anyone believe in a hurtful god who extolls punishment and burning death to his "children", that is rediculious!!!! That is why I look forward to my passing, because I'll find all who are lost to me and will be happy.

The usa was founded on Christianity. What do you expect?
I freakin love pagan people, they're nice. I used to be one.

Amy S. says it all, and I repeat myself, the path of the pagan religions are straight from the love of earth, fauna, and sky. How can anyone be afraid of that? So it is not the way of judaism, catholicism, protestants"who by the way broke away from catholicism" Also these ones have split into so many sectors that it is hard to even find which one is the "right: one there. It is not the way of islam, or buddha or shinto or or etc etc etc. Give me a break, If we are to expect freedom of religion, keep it out of the governments control. Give us all the right to believe!!! And with theat right the ability to protect our children and the children of the world from the real"witches" who are the pedophiles who are "evil"
