The Spotted Owl's New Nemesis

Animals  (tags: conservation, endangered, extinction, habitat, wildlife, killing )

An epic battle between environmentalists and loggers left much of the spotted owl's habitat protected. Now the celebrity species faces a new threat--a tougher owl. When is it appropriate to kill one species to help another?

Oh dear! It seems that we have certainly upset the balance of nature, doesn't it? It seems SO sad that we have to make awful decisions as to when to intervene to save a species or not. I DO wish the planet was still untouched and everything pefectly in synch with everything else! It would be so awful to lose these dear little Spotted Owls as they are just so incredibly endearing! Thannds Marlyn for this intesting article.

As the saying goes wise as an owl! When is it ethical to cull one species to save another, let nature take care of this & mankind keep out of it! Thanks Marilyn.

Ever notice mankind NEVER learns from his mistakes? We are a doomed species, problem is,,, we are killing off other species to the point of extinction.

Let nature take its course...whenever we meddle with her it never serves a solution without triggering new problems...

DARWIN , would say the survival of the fittest
and I agree, let nature do what it does
unfortunately because of logging,we have already changed the evolution by playing games with the future of the spotted owl, so if man made this mess, morally what is the imperative about fixing it???
GOOD QUESTION

That's nature. We shouldn't interfere to tip the balance one way or another.

Ah, but we interfer with nature on a regular basis, as the saying goes 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'.

You don't kill one animal to save another...why must we always interfere. Animals have thrived 4 zillions of years until humans showed up. Thanks Marilyn

Speaking of mankind. Anybody see how 13 thugs with guns took out this dangerous criminal? A baby deer.
Please sign and watch the video that is there,, nothing graphic other than my thoughts.

Regardless of whatever humans may think, the Eco System takes care of itself, if left alone. The problems begin when humans interfere. This applies in all areas.
