Trainers at the Alaska Zoo have been quietly preparing Maggie, the state's lone African elephant, for the trip to her new home in California for some time now. They've been coaching her on air travel for several hours a day, since shipping an 8,000-pound

I'm so excited for her. It seemed like this would never become a reality.
I can't wait to see her again once she's established at PAWS. Maybe then all those skin sores will be gone. The elephants at TES look so healthy and happy. I imagine the ones at PAWS do too.

This is such wonderful, beautiful news! I am so excited for Maggie to leave that gloom & doom place and live the rest of her life in near-heaven. Now we have to pray/send love & light to get her through the actual flight. I wish they would make the departure and then arrival to her new home a live broadcast.
