Cue a gusher of agrichemical cash into the effort to defeat the labeling initiative. This yr. through June 1, hundreds of thousands in donations had already bolstered the coffers of the astroturf group "Coalition Against the Deceptive Food Labeling Scheme

Thanks J.L. A. for posting another fine article from Mother Jones by Tom Philpott. Big Ag knows that most consumers would think twice about buying a product that lists a GMO ingredient. They can spend big amounts of money to defeat the initiative so they can maintain their massive millions in profits. Read and noted.

Just like they kept the BEEF and the Food Pyramid after much litigation by Physicians for Responsible Medicine we now have the POWER PLATE...It is tough to fight big businesses...people in power must override and use their conscious to right an wrong....GMOS are a no-brainer...GMOS make us SICK...Hey wait a minute...the largest money producer is the PHARACEDUETICAL COMPANIES>..Interesting how the major promoters of GMO also have links to pharmaceutical drugs….KEEP AMERICA SICK is their MOTTOP.

If the PEOPLE win, I would bet big businesses will find loopholes with percentages of GMOS or wording to get them through the food we eat….Can we picket our local grocery stores demanding that we will not buy unless they inform us about GMOS? Best thing grow your own food and do not DEPEND on business or government but on EACH OTHER….you plant tomatoes and Ill plant potatoes and we can barter etc……Lets take BACK AMERICA!

too few people have too much wealth and power so there's no balance among people. It's corrupting every organization we trusted, and is getting worse and worse by the day. People in positions of power are all we can depend on, and those who remain uncorrupted and willing to pay attention to all the information and take into consideration human rights for the people they're representing and are serving (that IS us) they are getting smaller and smaller in number

I actually want GMO's banned. Their use and everything required to grow these monstrosities are killing off the soil. Dead soil means plants don't thrive and it could be years before the siol has lost enough toxins before anything can grow on it.. GMO's will cause massive crop failures in the not so distant future. Be ready.
Labeling isn't really enough.

Uh? I don't think this (or what they do) is a secret to anyone paying attention. They waste their money.

GMO's need to be banned but doubt that will happen any time soon. I only buy certified organic food now and it has to say organic not just all natural. I planted all heritage/certified organic seed in my garden. My eggs from my little hens (pets-not food) are organic because they only eat organic foods. I don't eat meat so no worries there. One of the nice side benefits to no processed gmo garbage-my food has wonder flavor just like when I was a kid back in the early 50's. I have discovered many new types of fruit and vegetables I never tried before and am now kicking myself because I could have years ago. I would love to see all the gmo crops fail. No real "farmer" would dream of destroying good soil with all that garbage and any that have chosen to grow gmo-need to fail and take the dirty six down with them. The farmers growing this crap know it is bad and still grow it. They are a big part of the problem. No is an easy word to say-especially if you care about your family, the environment and doing the right thing because it is the right thing.

Someone suggested growing your own food, but a lot of us can't do that. I have a few years to go yet before I can retire and move out of the city hopefully to a little plot of land where I can do just that, but now it is not a reality. And it is a dream only, not something I can count on actually doing in the future. What needs to be done is to shut down the GMO's before they destroy our food supply. Not all of us have land or ability to grow our own food.

Copy/Paste this address to view those you might think would oppose labeling:

Copy/Paste this address to view those you wouldn't as likely think oppose labeling:

Usually I purchase Knudson organic juices, but now that I know they are owned by Smucker's, who is contributing to oppose labeling, I will look to other brands. Luckily there is always a new company offering organic, at least until they are gobbled up by the Mainstream companies, then it's time again to find a new organic company:).

Noted, Thank you J. L. A.
