Sinclair Broadcast Group is up to its dirty tricks again.

Just hours before Americans went to the polls on Tuesday, the media giant — which owns more than 70 TV stations nationwide — forced newscasters in battleground markets to air a “special” that attacked President Obama’s positions on health care, jobs, and foreign policy.1

This is not the first time Sinclair has exploited its media power in this way. Two weeks before the 2004 election, it forced TV stations to air "Stolen Honor", a documentary that aimed to discredit the military service of then-presidential candidate John Kerry.2

We must speak out against Sinclair’s effort to abuse the airwaves and manipulate public opinion.

Tell Sinclair that Americans Deserve News, Not Propaganda

Local newscasters in Florida, Iowa, North Carolina and Ohio were forced to air the half-hour anti-Obama program the night before Election Day.

The segment had nothing negative to say about Obama’s challenger, Gov. Mitt Romney, presenting viewers with a skewed report on vital election-year issues.

An anchor at ABC affiliate WSYX in Columbus, Ohio, later tweeted that the station was forced to run the program. “I didn’t have a choice, dude,” anchor Yolanda Harris replied to a critic. “I guess you’re the better person. I need my job.”2

Stations are granted access to the public airwaves in exchange for providing news and information that serve the public interest. But Sinclair is using its media muscle to dress up political bias as news.

Stop Sinclair from Airing Propaganda

By taking action you’re sending a clear message to Sinclair and other broadcasters that it’s NOT okay to hijack the airwaves for political gain.

Yeah. Now we need to petition the FCC to investigate and yank their license. Because people like this will never stop. They think they are right and everyone else is wrong; they refuse to obey the law; and they do not belong on the air.
