After 28 years in the profession, would I want my niece to become a teacher, sadly no. Statisticaslly, 4 in 10 leave the profession. Depending on the state you live in, the terrible, often times demeaning responsibilities inflicted on you by your state, local school board will make you wonder if you made the right choice.
If you have the staying power, and truly believe you are making a difference, please stay with it.

David Letterman's words at the beginning were right on.

Too bad too many of the Greedy Heartless Ones are drowning out that fact with their rhetoric so they can continue to bash teachers, unions, our public educational system that was the great equalizer.

The Greedy Heartless Ones want to privatize, have everything in their own control, so they can control the population. They don't want students who are creative critical thinkers, that is a threat to them.
